I really wanted to give this historic hotel 5 stars, but when my experience involved theft, it left a bad taste. I came back 30 minutes after checking out after accidentally leaving a new iphone charger plugged inside the room and they graciously let me back up to get it, but the door was halfway open and no one was inside the room, but my charger was now gone. After waiting almost 30 minutes while staff looked for it, they “couldn’t find it”. I even told them it seemed odd that the door has semi open without there being anyone inside of the room. This was after I left a voicemail with lost & found to which I never got a call back from. All around disappointed that it came down to that.

I booked the room on a deal website and had an amazing staycation. I booked because it was close to the AAC for a concert I was attending. The valet service, front desk and room (super clean and comfortable) were all wonderful! I’ve already booked my return stay and thank you for making me feel some welcomed.

My husband and I booked a room for a little staycation prior to the arrival of our baby. We have always wanted to check out this hotel but it wasn’t a positive experience. The room was nice, however when we returned to the room from dinner we found that the room was hot. We had the thermostat set to cool but it was blowing very hot air. We called the front desk to let them know and she said she would send someone right up. 40 minutes later my husband went down to the desk, she had forgotten to contact maintenance. The maintenance guy was fantastic and fixed the unit within minutes! We tried to go on and enjoy the rest of our evening…. Then we purchased a movie on the TV in the room. Every time we tried to play the movie the TV would say “No Signal” even though the movie was marked purchased. Very frustrating for such a nice hotel to have so many issues.

We were hoping for a nice, relaxing weekend and it ended up being frustrating and not very enjoyable at all. Very disappointing.

We spent the weekend here for a family wedding. The Stoneleigh was amazing, 5 star service at all levels of our stay! There were stand out employees in every area, Roderick and your valet staff were exceptional! They new us by name, what a difference they made! So refreshing in an industry where superior service does seem to be the norm any longer. Kudos to your leadership and your entire staff, well done!

Alicia and John were very helpful and made my stay a success they made sure I had a room available and they told me about the breakfast the hotel had in the morning. The valet parking was also awesome and nice.

I love how historic the hotel is. That being said the roof of our room leaked resulting in a giant puddle, and the front desk neglected to tell us the procedure for after hours drop off valet (after we asked to confirm what it was. She told us it was fine to just leave the car and she didn't need my keys or anything, which was a LIE) which (had it not been for the valet clerk 2 days later) would have resulted in my car getting towed. The after hours desk clerk was also in denial that I'd had food delivered late at night, told me no one had been there, as I was staring right at my delivery behind the counter with my name on IT. She was mad I'd made her walk back to the desk to look.

Richard in the bar was fantastic though and our housekeeper was worth a million dollars. The on site restaurant was just okay.

It is within walking distance of A LOT of stuff including Katy Trail and a ton of good food.

Only reason I didn't give the room 5 star was due to water pressure, otherwise fantastic.

A place like this you expect the front desk personnel to be supported by other staff but there was just one person stretched thin so service was only so so and not the employees fault.i’d like to think all these new standards of cleanliness meant rooms are cleaned beyond the naked eye. Alas no, there was brown splattered on wall in bathroom and next to the bed. If I can see it, housekeeping should clean it. Leaving my black light alone, I just don’t wanna know.

It is always nice to come across someone like Kaylynn in the hotel business who helps solve a problem for a guest before they arrive. Thanks Kaylynn!

I have never written a review for a hotel ever. But this is just unacceptable. 5 months ago my husband booked a room for 2 nights. We didnt arrive at the hotel till 4 in the morning of the 2nd day because of personal reason. When we got there, we got informed that since we didnt check in the day before, they had to cancel our reservation, which was ridiculous to me but we were ok with it. The receptionist said we would be refunded for it because she charged us AGAIN for one night. 5 MONTHS LATER, WE STILL HAVE NOT GOT OUR REFUND BACK. WE CAME TO THE HOTEL, CALLED THEM, EVEN EMAIL THE HEAD ACCOUNT BECAUSE THE FRONT DESK TOLD US TO DO SO, STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED OUR MONEY. WE BASICALLY SPENT MORE THAN $1K FOR ONE NIGHT THERE. Why would you cancel our reservation then make us pay again?
Writing a review like this is my last option since the hotel refused to do anything to fix their mistake.

Nice staff, good location, well sized and appointed rooms. Noisy construction and restaurant needs help on menu and staffing.

Matthew and team did a great job! My husband and I stayed here for one night for our anniversary. We didn’t know exactly what to expect as this was our first stay at this hotel. We checked in 1 hour early and our room was ready. It was clear when arriving to the room that they provided us with an upgraded room, perhaps for our anniversary. The room was very clean and super cute! You can tell this hotel is well managed and well taken care of. It is also easily within walking distance to Uchi which is where we had dinner. Would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is a gem of the city. From the moment I arrived with April at the valet desk, her amazing smile and helpfulness set the ton and the expectations for my stay, they did not disappoint. The front desk clerk was kind and courteous. Even the bartender at the lobby bar was whiling to go the extra mile for the best customer experience. If you are looking for a great hotel experience in the downtown area this is the place you want to stay.

Hotel was in an ok location but not very walkable neighborhood (Dallas, am I right?) - room was filthy (drink rings on every surface upon check in). AC was motion controlled and sensor was down hallway closet no where near any motion. Libby bar was excrement. Lobby restaurant was so so.

What was my favorite hotel in Dallas is now a dump. Staff is soooo rude and the don’t care what your Bonvoy status is. I’ve stayed here 60+ times and will stay at the Adolphus from now on. @$500 per night I expected so much more and I’m no hotel rookie. Other hotels give you cheese plates, chocolate, etc for being Ambassador level. They prep your room for your stay before hand and send you emails. This hotel not only doesn’t care but goes out of their way to make your stay bad. I realize how that sounds, but it’s that bad.

Pick a different hotel.

This easily would’ve been a 5 star stay/review if not for the lady who worked the valet the evening of June 21st, 2022. Her first question was “did we have a parking pass”, and when we explained that the other valet lady named Ms. Happy talked to hotel management and told us to park in the garage complimentary due to there being a leak in our room earlier that day that they needed to fix, and that if anyone gave us any issue to tell them “Ms. Happy said it’s comped” her response was very accusatory saying that we had already parked in the garage the two previous nights (which we DEFINITELY did not). So even after all of the back and forth, her final response was “I’ll talk to the manager and see if we can give you a discount”. Umm what? Anyways, imagine the frustration when we wake up at 3: 30am to catch a flight and there’s a $42 charge for parking on our checkout email, which leaves no time to square it away before we leave. If we would’ve known this other valet lady was going to be spiteful regardless of how we explained the situation, we would’ve just parked on the street 2 blocks down where we NEVER had an issue finding a spot, just like we did the numerous times we came and left during our stay, including the two previous nights that she accused us of parking in the garage. Our stay otherwise was very memorable regardless of the fact that there was a leak that was dripping down into the room below us that had to be addressed, which was an inconvenience to us since the tub needed to be caulked. We had a great room, bed was extremely comfortable, great location, so even with that inconvenience, I was still planning on leaving a 5 star review, even if Ms. Happy hadn’t offered for us to park in the garage for free our last night. She explained in detail where exactly to park to not get charged, and even took a picture of our license plate. We called the hotel when we arrived home around noon to try and resolve the issue, and spoke with someone at the desk named Kaylen who sounded extremely disinterested and wasn’t much help, and said she would pass the info along to the manager, but we never heard back. We called again the next day, spoke to Kaylen AGAIN and she had absolutely ZERO clue what we were talking about, so it’s probably safe to say she never relayed the information. She finally came back and begrudgingly said “I’ll remove the charge, but Ms. Happy didn’t have the authority to comp it, just so you know for next time” as though she was doing us a favor. It’s a shame how one employees actions can set off a chain of events that ruin an entire stay at the very last minute, and the other employees can’t seem to figure a way to communicate amongst each other. Sure, $42 is pretty obnoxious for parking, but even if it had been $10 it’s the principle of the matter, because it’s definitely not about the money. You should never accuse guests of lying. If anything, the valet lady Ms. Happy was the nicest employee we interacted with by far. Now that I read through others reviews and I’m seeing numerous other complaints about the valet lady, it’s mind boggling that they don’t address her behavior towards guests. It seems like her interactions with guests has been an ongoing, reoccurring problem. She is the first person guests interact with upon their arrival, you’d think they would care enough to hire someone who represents the Marriott brand well, which she does not. We stay at numerous Marriott hotels all over the country every year, and the customer service here is definitely by far some of the worst and is lacking and very unfriendly. I would expect this kind of customer service from a budget hotel. Next time we’re in Dallas we definitely won’t be staying here.

Stayed for work and Pride celebrations. Clean & spacious rooms. Reception staff may benefit from better customer service skills.
