I dealt with the PA there DR Jessica white and this was the most uncomfortable and judgmental experience I had with a provider. She made me go deep personal information in my life that I have never been asked by psychiatrist just my therapist and I go on about my day to day unhealthy cripping anxiety and still just prescribed a antidepressant which I agreed with but was my anxiety suppose to disappear magically? Also giving me adhd medicine which causes more anxiety? So fine I went with it I go back and mention any other medications I can try (a different anti depressant) she tells me no. I was definitely taken back by it all, and when I tried calling for a refill I got told no as well cause the girls in the front forgot to charge me for a copay multiple times? And they attempted to charge a huge amount all at once so I had to withdrawal myself and again as a medical professional I was very taken back by this all. I’m now with a new psychiatrist somewhere else that listens to me and my concerns and what works best but never again. Ohh and she recommended I tried “supplements” for my anxiety like I haven’t tried every damn one on the market already and like I don’t have google and have google ways to help anxiety naturally. Dr. Deeves i never got to experience but her PA there or at the time just no.

Dr. Deeves is absolutely wonderful! After struggling to find a psychiatrist for years and lots of trial and error with others, I’m so glad I found her. She’s very honest and is willing to tell you the hard truths, but does so in a way that you know she has your best interest in mind. She genuinely cares about her patients and goes the extra mile to provide optimal care. Thank you Dr. Deeves!

I have been under treatment with Dr. Deeves for 5 years, she is so knowledgeable, that she has been able to medicate my very complex pshychiatric issues, I have never been happier, or in more control of my life and my emotions like I have been for the past 5 years. I have my own business, (5 year long business and thriving) with all the complexities that running a business entails. I am still in my 12 year old marriage, I am the loving and patient mother I always wanted to be, undoubtedly because of Dr. Deeves care. She is a stoic professional doctor who will spend at least 45 minutes with you on every visit.
She is a fine psychiatrist.

Update:
I have now been a patient of Dr. Deeves for more than 6 years! My life has had so many challenges and she has been with me each step of the way. She has been very understanding and accommodating throughout my treatment. She listens to my concerns and makes suggestions as to the best course of treatment but also gets my input. For example, when I shared with her my anxiety was back and making it difficult for me to complete daily tasks, she presented the course of treatment she would suggest and then asked what I thought. There have been times I have agreed to change course of medications and other times when I have decided I want to wait. No matter what I decide, she has been supportive in my decision.

She has now established her own practice so does have fewer staff. However, whenever I have had concerns, she makes sure they get addressed and then follows up with me to ensure I am not still experiencing issues (such as an unreturned phone call). I know she has a large patient load but feel she has a unique ability to always make me feel like I am her top priority when I am in an appointment or needing something from her.

I really enjoy the ability I have had to have appointments virtually but also fully understand the reasons why not all appointments can be done over the computer. Perhaps I am unique in that I ask questions but have found Dr. Deeves is very open to share information about changes and the reasoning behind those changes if you do just ask. Some of these changes may be bothersome to some patients, but they are necessary to keep those patients safe.

I would encourage anyone looking for a psychiatrist for medication management of mental health matters to consider seeing Dr. Deeves. She may not be a perfect fit for everyone, but she is a great doctor who will provide honest and reliable care to her patients.

Original Review:
I have been a patient of Dr. Deeves’s for about three years now. I truly appreciate all of the help she has provided to me over the years. When I first started seeing her, I was very nervous and felt like we might not be a good fit. However, I stuck it out and now know I made the right choice and it was my own insecurities making me feel uncomfortable in the beginning.

During my first appointment, Dr. Deeves listened to my concerns and decided to change my medication. She was not sure about the medication my previous doctor prescribed before I moved to Texas and felt it was not assisting me in getting the results I was needing. She made sure I was comfortable with the change and answered all of my questions about the new medications. She looked up the medication and shared with me what all of the potential side effects and risks were. We started slow and during each appointment she made changes to dosage levels and adjusted other medications as needed.

I was struggling with infertility which added a lot of additional challenges given the changes in hormone levels and the added stress and heartbreak of the infertility journey in general. Even though her focus as a psychiatrist is on treating the physical condition of mental illness (as opposed to a psychologist treating the emotional condition through therapy) I felt like she always listened, showed a professional level of empathy, and validated my feelings.

Throughout my time as her patient, I have felt she allows me to be an active participant in my treatment. She provides her medical advise and asks if I am comfortable with her treatment plan. If I am wanting to take a different path, she listens and we discuss before together coming up with a plan of action. If anyone to ask for my suggestion for a local psychiatrist I would send them directly to Dr. Deeves. She keeps her appointment on schedule but does not make you feel rushed while you are in your appointment. She has been a great addition to my medical team and am excited about the progress I have already made thus far.

I was a patient of Dr. Deeves for a short period of time at the end of 2019. My MD referred me to her. She never asked me any questions about my past history, automatically assumed I was bipolar based on limited details from my MD, and immediately put me on lithium. Since I'm not bipolar, the lithium messed me up really bad and it took me longer to get back to work as a result. When I tried to talk to her about not being bipolar and exploring other diagnoses, she immediately disagreed and terminated her care for me. I received a chilling letter stating as much. Ultimately, I had to wean myself off the lithium because she couldn't be bothered with such matters as it didn't go along with her treatment plan. Turns out I have chronic PTSD not bipolar and all my time with her did was waste my money and make me not trust psychiatrists. Thanks again Dr. Deeves.
