Lockhart Smokehouse reviews
15I've eaten at the Plano and Oak Cliff locations a few times. Always have the brisket, beans, slaw.and on occasion, the sausage. Not really a fan of the slaw, however, everything else, never disappointed! Finding parking in Oak Cliff is a nightmare. Will try the Arlington location soon, hoping for a similar experience.
I don't have a picture but the food was great and the restaurant was different but very barbque'esk feeling to it and management was GREAT! My wife and I will be back soon and with a picture next time
Went there on Sunday and it was ok. They were out of a few items on the menu and food was greasy. It is served on butcher paper and when we opened the sausage, brisket, and burnt ends the paper was full of grease. The plastic utensils were the flimsiest I have ever seen in my life. Trying to use the knife was pointless. The ice tea was watered down, even my son made a comment and about it. This was also one of the more expensive BBQ restaurants in the area.
Holy cannoli this place has da-yum good bbq! I had the turkey, original sausage and spicy mac and cheese and I ate every last bite without a single drop of bbq sauce because it was that good!
Honestly way overpriced and some of the most overhyped bbq in DFW. Food is average at best. I have eaten here twice and have been sorely disappointed both times. I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but I’d recommend Hutchins, Pecan Lodge, and Hard 8 bbq over here by far. Will not be returning.
I posted a review about my disappointment with a brisket I bought. Lockhart’s management contacted me immediately and resolved the problem. Thank You for your quick response. I’m looking forward to the next Beef Rib Wednesday!
This is the best BBQ I’ve had in Texas. Congratulations for the honorable mention in the Texas Monthly Top 50! Being one of the top 100 in Texas is a BIG deal. That said, I’ve been to places that made the top 50 and this place deserves to be on top. In my opinion, it has no equal.
Great food - we ordered ribs, pulled pork, blackened chicken, brisket, spicy Mac n cheese, smoke devils eggs, and peach cobbler. There are bottled Mexican sodas and water. There is also fountain drinks and sweet tea. There is a full bar there too.
Seating upstairs with a TV and downstairs with convenient access to the boardwalk area. Two bathrooms also. Whole place was clean and a fun environment.
Staff were very friendly.
They take credit cards and cash.
Depending on your choice of meat, Lockhart has a large selection everyday. I haven’t figured out exactly what moisture level I like in the smoked meats, but the meat is bomb! Potato salad and peach cobbler sides were amazing as well.
The meat on the beef rib was great, what I didn't realize is that half of the $50 rib was fat. I won't get that ever again.
As a long-standing customer of Lockharts, I've always been a fan and normally consider Lockhart's to be worthy of the 4.5 stars it has earned over the years. However, yesterday was a completely different experience. After buying $90 worth of meat and sides I was greeted with a $8 charge for BBQ sauce, and the normal complementary garnishes (jalapenos and pickles) were MIA. That's all fine if the meat was on par. This was the first time the meat required a steak knife to cut through the brisket - YES, A STEAK KNIFE. I'm not sure what caused the changes but I won't be back anytime soon.
This BBQ is so delish! And you must try the brisket deviled eggs OMG! They didn't make the picture because I ate them while my husband was paying lol. Everything was a hit and I do mean everything. We had brisket, chicken, jalapeños sausage, ribs, spicy Mac and peach Cobbler! The staff is so friendly and welcoming! Definitely will be back.
Not good not bad. Brisket was dry (even from moist/point) and did not have a good bark. Ribs were chewy and lacked a good seasoning. Maybe I came in on an off time but so many other better bbq joints all over dfw.
So freakin delicious! Love the simplicity of ordering and dining on paper. We tried the brisket, sausage, and turkey.all were fantastic. The blue cheese saw is something I'll dream of.
