I would’ve given it 5 stars if it hadn’t been for the mealy sausages. I remember it tasting better than this so it was a disappointment. However, burnt ends tasted pretty good (albeit on the sweet side). Baked beans were excellent, and potato salad and coleslaw were pretty good too. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

I came to Dallas from Memphis and mannnnnnn! This was amazing. I appreciate the staff customer service too. It goes along way. BUT MAN THAT BRISKET (ask for moist brisket)

Helpful staff and some of THE BEST smoked brisket I've ever eaten! Good luck finding parking though

It was a great BBQ experience. The place had self-service and a small alcohol selection of mostly beers. The ribs were amazing, but the chicken was very basic.

A great rustic feel to the barbecue heaven. This is not the place for folks who want to be pampered! Cold BEER AND THE BEST BRISKET anywhere! I loved it!

September 2023 Edit: got ribs, sausage, Mac and cheese. Good but not as flavorful as times before. Sausage extremely greasy. Bright someone who had never been there before and atmosphere was very pushy.

Amazing ribs, sausage and sides. YUM

Absolutely stellar BBQ experience! The staff is incredibly friendly, the place is spotless, and the consistency is mind-blowing. A hidden gem for barbecue lovers.

Good spot in the Bishop Arts area. Was actually recommended to me by someone I met the night before.

The ribs and brisket were good, but the sausage while not back was not really my jam. The spicy mac and cheese was amazing!

Next time through, I'd definitely stop by again!

Mmmmmm, the ribs had an amazing flavor no BBQ sauce need. The Brisket. AMAZING. Good smoke ring” for those interested. Don’t forget the Mac n Cheese the cheesiest. May word of mouth/post by internet travel fast. Yummy

I have lived in Texas for about 3-4 years now and haven’t had proper BBQ. Came here with my sister to check it out and damn was it good. Brisket was tender, well marbled but a little on the dry side. The ribs on the other hand Jesus. Melt in your mouth and tender. With the bbq sauce warmed up just right it’s perfect. The sides were a little disappointing. The Mac n cheese was thick but lacked flavor. Banana pudding was eh. Deviled eggs sucked.but we’re here for the meats. Everything regarding bbq was delicious and I would 100% recommend for the bbq.

While parking at Lockharts might be tricky due to the crowded area of Bishop Arts, the trip is well worth it to have some fantastic food.

The fatty brisket, burnt ends, and ribs were all delicious and we also quite enjoyed the Lockhart slaw. The large jars of pickled onions and various pickles were convenient for refilling toppings.

We were looking for a place to dine and stumbled upon Lockhart while looking for a barbecue place. We were greeted and directed to the front when we entered by the man at the bar. Once we got to the counter, the pitmaster himself explained to us the different steps they take when preparing their famous brisket. He was kind enough to allow us to taste one of their Texas twinkies (which were absolutely delicious). He went into detail about the various steps they take when perfecting all of their foods.
We got a pound of brisket, 1/3 lb of regular sausage, a large Mac n cheese, and 2 drinks. Our total came out to $62. I feel the price was very reasonable especially for the quality of the food they bring out. Everything from the service to the food was phenomenal and we will definitely be returning to try more of their menu very soon.

I visited 8 years ago (Facebook memories reminded me of the name and location). Burnt ends were so good and the atmosphere was great. If I ever make it back to Dallas I’ll stop in again.
