0 stars. Since day one I have had problems with this realty. From roaches in the place on first inspection, to broken appliances that never got fixed after request. My AC unit broke during the hottest part of summer and no one came to correct the issue. All that was done was cut the heat off due to the short of it constantly blowing. That created a problem when it got cold. On move out, I made sure to clean thoroughly so I wouldn’t have any issues receiving my deposit back. Instead they charged me for everything that I requested to be fixed. DO NOT deal with these people. I hope they get black listed with the military.

After renting A house for 7 years. Never late with Rent. Kept the grounds up to above standards. Did everything above standards. Now here's when SLS. I submitted a work order for my AC unit. The gave it to a guy who bought his spouse and she sat in the truck. The guy did a terrible job.told me my filter was dirty that was untrue. I re-submitted it again.and again. I'm reaching out Texas Housing Authorities and Fort Hood Texas to look into this. After talking to TLS they charged me for things I turned in. So I went back to TXU and water department and got the paperwork again To forward to all parties to show this is how Disabled American Veterans and Families here in the Killeen Texas area has to deal with please that will Use their services to target us all.

Awful experience.the same day I went with my deposit on had for the rental they said they made a mistake on the listing ($600 difference) price and I didn't even got my application fee back.

From day one Mrs. Karen and her team provides us with an impressive service that in the course of years made our time as rentals owners a stress-free experience. They diligently managed our properties and promptly solve any property/tenant issues while always taking in consideration our best interests as owners.

Eventually our time to leave the military arrived and our family moved overseas but decide to keep the rentals and for about five more years Karen managed the overseas relationship like the pro she is while always keeping us well informed and providing us with sound advise about the local market which eventually influenced our decision to finally sell and again, she makes the event a complete stress-free experience.

Words fall short to describe the peace of mind that Karen gave us and her assistance and professionalism were paramount to my family’s well-being and prosperity

If I could I would give Lone Star a 0, after nineteen Year’s they threw a woman and children out, losing everything they had, the workers came and threw their belongings outside, people came and went through it, clothes, furniture, food, important papers, i saw one of the men put something in his truck I didn’t think the workers could take anything of the tenants. Now I called the office on Friday i had been picking up paper, that blew in my yard, clothes that people had thrown in my yard? There was people at night with flashlights, car lights going through bag’s. I asked to speak too the owners the rude woman told they was on a two week vacation and she
was one of the people who put it out and they don’t have the means to pick it up, but she was going too hire someone that mess is at the porch it’s all shame, 1309 Nicholas Cir aot. B this company should be ashamed. I’m going too the city get the owners address and phone number and send them pictures, this isn’t a good company to read from the gate has been broken for years

Just moved to Texas, found a nice house to rent, and so far I really love the house and the area! What I do not like is being taken advantage of by not telling me about my options when it comes to power companies.

Texas is very different from Ohio where you can choose your power company instead of just having one default company for your area. The person I spoke with at Lone Star told me to get in contact with Ambit energy to set up my electricity. Of course no one at Lone Star or Ambit told me about the contract terms and the absolutely ridiculous cost per kWh that Ambit charges of over 24 cents per kWh. I just started my electricity with them a couple of weeks ago and now I am having to pay $200 to get out of my contract with them seeing as the average cost per kWh is usually around 11-14 cents in the area that I am in.

I acknowledge that I should have been more careful and actually have done research into something like this, but it would have been nice for someone at some point to have told me that I have options as opposed to just saying "contact ambit to turn your power on" and then giving me their phone number.

3 stars because I like the house and I think the rent is fair. They've also been very receptive to communications and work orders via the Tennant portal. It's hard to tell if Lone Star has some sort of arrangement with Ambit or if it was just a coincidence that they recommended Ambit over other options.

If I could give zero stars I would this company is absolutely terrible, terrible, inexperienced maintenance, terrible accounting, during inspections they will find things that was already wrong with the property and try to charge you for it, if you plan on looking for a rental property this is not it please look else where, as I’m going through the process of filing a law suit with them right now LOOK ELSEWHERE!

Property MGT: Lone Star managed one my properties from 2007-2015. The service was exceptional. The staff kept me informed of any maintenance concerns and requested approval prior to making any repairs.
Sales: I live in another state. The sales department recently assisted me with the sale of a home in Killeen. The sales process and closing were a success.

UPDATE: 9-6-22 - I finally get a call 7 minutes before closing telling me that I may not be eligible for renewal or put on month to month, again I question the explanations provided, and of course they have to get back to me because departments do not communicate. I also questioned why I am only just receiving this information 24 days before my lease is up… no justified answer, and I honestly felt like all this was done on purpose because this is too big of an oversight.

0/0. Would not recommend. I have been renting with them for 7 years now, and they’ve never been that great, but since the pandemic it’s been ridiculous. Any issues I have ever had with them, I have resolved in a timely manner. Paid whatever dues, however they seem to make things more difficult than necessary, the workers give you the runaround, nobody returns calls or messages. Let’s not even talk about the shotty maintenance by these contractors they dispatch to their properties

I’m sitting here in the last month of my lease, and haven’t received any notice of renewal options or even a letter of non renewal if I’m no longer eligible to renew. My lease is up 9/30/22. This wouldn’t be an issue, but circumstances have changed with the steadily increasing prices in the area. At this point I’ve called three times, left two messages first, the third I had to select the maintenance option because leasing won’t answer or return calls; I spoke with Melissa in maintenance and I was told she would leave a message to see if Brenda or Matthew in leasing can get me whatever information they’re going to send. I have even attempted a conversation on the tenant portal.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but these companies have become too comfortable with poor customer service and shotty business practices. I feel they’ve become so used to dealing with a certain caliber of people that we all suffer because of it!

Just don’t rent with them if you can help it, and if you do just be thorough in your dealings with them, take detailed pictures during move in/move out processes and maintenance calls, and document EVERYTHING!

If I could give 0 stars I would! STAY AWAY FROM HERE! These people here enjoy messing with your money! All they care about is collecting money no matter where it comes from! For those who serve in the Military GO ELSEWHERE! They prey on soldiers and their families left and right. They charge you for any thing that goes wrong in the property. They will leave no stone unturned to keep your security deposit. They will give you a hard time once moving out. They are beyond rude!

BRENDA. CHRISTY…CHRISTINA AND MELISSA are all unprofessional and rude. They will talk over you and yell at you! They will literally hang up the phone on you. They speak to tenants like they are children. They will ignore your calls once you are moved out. They “ overlook “ any charges that THEY OWE YOU when moving out so PLEASE KEEP A COPY OF YOUR LEASE & MOVING IN INSPECTION SHEET!

The maintenance man TERRY as well is rude yes he will come to fix the issue but he will come into your home and make a mess and not clean up. I have so much evidence against this company!

MILITARY FAMILIES PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! They will not respect you they don’t care that you serve and when you get orders to PCS they will give you such a difficult time! They don’t even deserve my 1 star! Don’t believe those fake positive reviews! Even my neighbor at the time knows how trifling these folks here are! They will lie and say inspections will come out within the first week after moving out which they don’t and will make you pay for everything! STAY AWAY! And Lone Star STOP positing fake positive reviews!

It is truly unfortunate that this company is allowed to siphon money from its tenants in the way that it does. I rented with Lonestar for a year and lost half of my deposit (over $500 lost) despite leaving the property in much better condition compared to what I received it in. While renting with them, I experienced shoddy maintenance. This company is equivalent to being high class slumlords. Be sure to screenshot records from their tenant portal as they will remove you from it as soon as your lease expires.

If you are looking at the reviews on their page, pay attention to who is giving them over four stars— the individuals letting Lonestar rent out their homes, not the tenants.

I have been trying to get a refund that they were supposed to send me for the third or fourth week now. At first they sent it. Then when I didn't see it and called them, it was "we haven't sent it yet but we are going to". Still didn't get sent. Called em again and it was "I think we got you mixed up but we will send it" WILL NOT BE GETTING MY BUISNESS EVER AGAIN!

We have had an outstanding experience with Lone Star. We've had two houses managed by Lone Star. One house managed by them since 2009. They have been great to deal with for over 13 years. Always responsive. Whenever our homes needed maintenance they arainged for it promptly to take care of tenants and give us peace of mind that our properties were well managed.

We recently sold one property through their real estate services. They were outstanding! We sold our house from out of state with ease and professionalism from start to finish. The process could not have been better from our experience.

This company offers housing at moderate rental prices but maintenance services are lousy to me especially I was hurt on/c and I was a month without it, it didn't cost me anything else to move. Eye they are not professionals and they charge for anything and they do not return deposit they look for any pretext to keep it.
