Asian Restaurant Loro reviews
18They have done a great job pivoting from their original menu and style of serving. Great for a group. No reserv needed
Great place to take someone new to Austin. Great food, but only downfall is limited GF options - still a great place.
Fantastic place to eat and hang out with friends! Food was fantastic and the atmosphere was amazing! Definitly recommend going here it was the best bbq spot we went to on our trip!
As a visiting tourist, this place was absolutely perfect, the food, the ambience and just the vibes.
Great food, get the brisket and curried chicken rice bowl! The “get your own stuff” kind of vibe wasn’t the greatest but it wasn’t that bad either.i’d come back!
Very cool place worth driving down to SoLo for. Amazing rice bowls and homemade drinks, Asian-BBQ fusion done right.
Our family is obsessed with Loro. Great food options, with a fun atmosphere. We appreciate trying new menu items, but are always pleased with repeat orders where quality is always high. If your new or visiting Austin and are nearby, go to Loro.
Nice fun vibe. Sports bar meets east austin type bar vibe. Although it’s in the cool south Lamar area. That’s where the good part of the review ends.
No service!
You have to stand in long lines to order a drink every time. And food. Stupid concept. Everyone around me was grumpy about this concept. What happened to servers. They bring you food. But don’t take your orders or check on you. So get ready to sit on wooden benches and get up every now and then to get silverware, another glass of water, and napkins. Stupid concept!
Now on to the food.
- that’s NOT Malaysian chicken. It’s a hint of Thai yellow curry flavor. It was bad.
- pork belly is full of fat and people order it to enjoy the delicate texture. My order had a toughness of leather. It was bad.
- karage was bland. Have some at Uchiko to get a taste of solid karage.
- brisket was tasty! But come on with those lemony sauces floating around it to ruin a gorgeous brisket.
Never going back. Don’t understand all the hoopla about this place.
Food was great. But I absolutely can’t stand QR code menus and ordering at the bar. Invest in servers.
A couple of our food runners were rude, a couple were awesome.
For real though, this trend of nixing servers sucks and it’s time for it to go away.
Love this place. I keep coming back over and over again. There can be long wait times but if you have someone in your group go early and get a name down, they can have a drink and wait for the rest of party. Always been worth the wait in my opinion.
I usually get excellent take out from Loro. However, on April 26, I got a piece of salmon that any decent restaurant should never have let leave the kitchen. First, it was tiny (see picture). The entire salmon in this salmon dish was essentially bite size. But that’s not the key issue. The salmon was cooked to death. Then revived. Then cooked to death again and this process was repeated. The end result is a piece of salmon so dry it hurts your mouth. You can clearly see it’s been severely overcooked from the outside. The thing looks like it’s been on fire for an extended period of time. This stands in stark contrast to the normally perfectly-cooked slightly-raw-on-the-inside salmon they make at Loro that I love.
Update: My past three (salmon) orders from Loro were all excellently cooked.
From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like honored guests. Their warm welcome and attention to detail set a high standard.
Loved this place! The corn fritters were my favorite, I highly recommend! I also enjoyed the alcoholic slushees (the mango sake one was really good). Casual place with lots of seating both inside and outside.
The place is pleasant with a large terrace. A little disappointed with some dishes we had, notably the Asian pork belly which was a little hard and not tender and tender enough. It’s also a shame that everything arrives later, it doesn’t always allow you to have the meat and the accompaniments at the same time.
The food was good, nothing out of this world. But I would get take out from here. It's too loud for me, but if that's your vibe, then this is the place for you!
There is no wait staff, so you will have to get up and order your own food and drinks.
This place is busy for a reason! The food is to die for. Every single staff person was so friendly and helpful, and the menu will satiate the pickiest of eaters. Cannot wait to go back.
Great staff and fantastic food all wrapped up in a cool vibe. Do yourself a favor and try it out - and don't forget to grab a cookie. Amazing.
Very nice place with great ambience, the food is a Asian fushion and American bbq style. You can order your food and drinks at the bar and sit at any table. The staff will bring your food to you, you have to get your own water/cutlery by the front. This place is perfect for dates, families, groups of friends. The food is really good, and healthy. We each got our own entree but had two shared plates.
