Los Barrios Mexican Restaurant reviews
17Definitely the place to go for a big party, their staff and kitchen have a good, practiced system for dealing with very large parties, and the food is just as good
Their food is always consistent in taste it's so delicious. The wait staff is awesome some of the wait staff have been there forever that tells you alot about the management. And one of the owner's is usually available they come by the table to ask how the food and service are. Great place!
We were there to celebrate a birthday. There were about sixteen in our group. They have a large parking area but the distance between rows is somewhat close and can be an issue for larger vehicles. We were greeted at the door by friendly staff members. The wearing of masks are optional. They have large areas that can accommodate several large parties at the same time. The server was friendly and attentive. The meals come with flour tortillas which she did not bring till we were almost done with our meals. This may have been due to the kitchen staff. There were several different types of drinks ordered, the Pina Colada was not good at all. It seemed to be something with the coconut and possibly not mixed well. The food was all good but could have been hotter. This is not unusual with big parties as they like to bring out the food all st one time. The prices are a little higher than normal but still reasonable. I would say overall it was worth going and recommend giving them a chance to meet your dining needs especially for large groups.
Waited 1hr to be seated busy night so I expected the service to slow and our food was at room temperature at best.maybe it's better for lunch but not a busy dinner night
The backcorner table seating is extremely uncomfortable because of air conditioning vent blasting out Arctic air. We were literally shivering. Unable to enjoy dinner.
For a minute there I thought I was in a beer joint as two customers were talking loudly and acting drunk. They were disturbing to us and management didn't do anything to quite them down. I don't think I will be returning again to this place.
Not really impressed, the waiter added a couple of items that were not ordered and added a Gratuity of 19.00% for himself, they were only two of use. WTH. I guess different strokes for different folks. But I'm not into getting charged for things I did not order, with a waiter adding his own TIP. I will not even mention I've been here.
Went with some family and someone ordered what they thought would of been a quesadilla, what they got back was a taco with melted cheese and shrimp.the waitress said that was the quesadilla.no no no. Will not go back
Severs where very nice and the food and desert was very delicious me and my family loved it.and yes ill be back soon thank you Barrio family
First time at that location but the one on Westover been there several times for celebrating birthdays graduation and just to have dinner Our family made it on the advertising photo of Viola's
Still a great as it always was. I dream about their nachos. Great enchiladas, rice and beans. Get a flavored margarita. Ask for butter, you have to have it for those tortillas. Ask for Maria, she was wonderful. She was Like ninja, sneaking around the table quietly, dropping butter, chips and a tea (great tea) that never went dry. We also shopped the entrance area. My friend bought a beautiful embroidered mask. I need more nachos. Ok I dont need them but I want them
Haven't been here in years left San Antonio over 20 years ago, food is excellent as always and service was 5 was great visiting here again.
Service was terrible and Food was terrible. My food was cold and they never brought my charro Beans and tortillas until I was done eating. Not the same Barrio!
Absolutely LOVE Los Barrios! My family and myself have been coming to this family owned and oriented restaurant for years, and it never disappoints.
Diana and her team, across the board, never disappoint on customer service and efficiency & always take ownership of issues or concerns regarding service or food.
There is a very vast selection of menu items, as well as alcoholic beverages that can be ordered. Believe it or not, there is a very solid alcoholic beverage selection for a traditional Mexican restaurant. It is a VERY family oriented, traditional, Mexican restaurant. When you walk in, you’re definitely family. And let me say, if it’s your birthday, you’re in for a surprise. The team LOVES birthdays!
I, highly, recommend the “tacos a la Diana” and a “top shelf” margarita with an extra shot. It’s worth it!
I’ve eaten at the one at Redland and the service has always been great. Here the lady at the entrance was very serious, once they sat us down no one came to offer us water o something, while we waited, we ended up just standing and leaving. Bad bad service so sad because the food at the other location is great.
Such a cute place. Nicely decorated, large and open with a lovely big patio for outdoor dining. The food is excellent and the portions are generous. If you like chips and salsa, you’ll be in heaven. So warm and delicious and of course unlimited. Our server, Erica was so sweet and patient and kept checking on us. She gave us great advice regarding our order and kept up with our chips and salsa intake lol. Great value for money. Best Mexican restaurant in SA area. No more eating on the Riverwalk for us!
I got the burritos with refried beans and rice. The burritos were cheap frozen burritos and the beans ran off my fork like water and had no flavor. The rice looked good but again had no flavor. Not recommended.
