I loved this place! We went back multiple times while in town and it's all around delicious. The breading on all battered/breaded items was excellent, perfectly seasoned. The steak was cooked on point and flavor was so good we tipped the chef. Dessert was cake with the special, which was good, definitely want to try one of their many pies. I can hardly wait to go back.

Great food, service, and environment! My kids really enjoyed it, and I'd love to go back next time I'm passing through Utopia Tx.

Wonderful little restaurant on the way to Garner State Park. Felt like walking into a Norman Rockwell painting because of some of the characters we saw inside. Such a sweet little place. And the food was great too! We will definitely be back.

Coffee & apple pie this time. I met the mayor there last time at the women's table. Great people.

We stopped here along the journey to go to Lost Maples Park. A nice small town Texas cafe with charm, good food, and good service.

Been through Utopia several times, but never stopped at the cafe until now. Friday early afternoon saw the cafe about 75% filled. Service was relatively quick. We had the goat sliders with fries, the steak fingers with onion rings, and shared a buttermilk pie slice. Goat sliders were rated as excellent. Steak fingers with the gravy (needed just a bit of salt) were nice, and the onion rings were excellent. I don't recommend the fries.they were a bit soggy with no taste.even the gravy and ketchup couldn't bring the flavor up to average. Buttermilk pie was excellent. Will certainly go back next time we're in the area.

Great comfort food with friendly, courteous service. Don't forget to save room for pie!

Found this place and saw the good ratings. Food was good and the waitress was nice…HOWEVER, she kept forgetting about my table. It was me and my husband. We sat in the front in the last booth where it almost is like a wall. It took the waitress 10-15 min to come back to us after she gave us the menu because “she forgot about us. ” Legit. Those are her exact words and she apologized which I understood because of the walled booth. But then it happened AGAIN. I had to get up twice. First time to ask for maple syrup and the second for the side of potatoes.

Just what you would expect from a small Texas town cafe. The food was comfort food. My kids are picky when it comes to chicken so they did not appreciate the chicken straps made from dark meat chicken.

Pros: food is very good and the portions are huge. Staff is friendly. Everything comes out quickly, from drinks to food. Pie! But they do run out on busy days.
Cons: No alcoholic beverages sold here but you can bring your own in. Soda comes In cans and they were out of many types.

Chicken tenders were so greasy, the breading would fall off the moment you picked up a tender. Fries were bland. Cheese fries had cold melted cheese on them that were probably just stuck in a microwave. And they gave a vegetarian who ordered cheese enchiladas a meat sauce. Overall, food was bad and I felt sick the moment I left. Puked everything out less than two hours later.

Visited for breakfast Sunday 11/6/22 after seeing how busy the place was during a town festival on Saturday 11/5/22. A real hill country gem, the café was very cute and staff was friendly. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry. We weren’t and enjoyed the decor and atmosphere. Giving 4 stars only because we waited almost an hour for our food. We arrived at 9: 30 and by 10: 15 they were out of biscuits and running low on bacon. Luckily I got the last delicious biscuit of the day. They were also transitioning to the Sunday lunch items by 10: 30 so go early if you want breakfast. Regret that we didn’t get to try the Lunch special or pies- they looked incredible. (Whole pies are about $26). Parking was on both sides of the corner lot, handicapped accessible on the side street. Definitely a great place to visit. You’ll leave full and happy. Highly recommend!

We went there on Nov 13, Sunday, 2022. The restaurant was open until 9 PM. We went there for dinner and that was the only restaurant open at that time in Utopia. It's 20 minutes drive from the lost maples state natural area and same from the Garner State Park. Steak was 5 out of 5. Tater tots and Cheeseburger was 4 out of 5. Fried chicken was 4 out of 5. Iced tea was 4 out of 5. But the fried beef wasn't good at all, tasted like frozen food and my friend couldn't eat it at all. French fries were also not good. The restaurant is nicely decorated. It's a family-run business and their behavior was very humble. It's an American style restaurant and you'll also get some Mexican options. Restrooms are very clean and you'll get enough parking spaces.
