Lotus Cafe, Brownsville TX

There was a strong urine smell. The drinks had a bad taste to them. The salmon roll did not taste fresh. The caterpillar roll did not look like a roll it did not have all the ingredients the menu described. And the ramen was hard. The waiter was so nice.

Usually not one to post a bad review especially a bad one, however the lack of professionalism coming from Lotus management is disappointing. I have been a loyal customer to Lotus for some time now however, earlier today I ordered the lo Mein special and when I came home I realized my egg roll was half eaten, and the chicken also looked like it had been eaten. I called lotus to tell them they had given me leftover food and unfortunately they told me they couldn’t do anything about until the owner came in. No refunds, no new plate. I obviously still went it and demanded my refund and they complied however the way they went about this situation was extremely unprofessional. Lotus lost a customer and Pho & Chinese gained a new one.

Well I'm sure the original owners don't own this gig or the others. Anyways customer service was poor. Yet the table across from us got 100% attention every 2min. Vs. Us sitting and waiting and waiting and sitting. There were only 2 on our side and us made 3 and yet they never cked on us. I asked for fried rice they brought me white, I asked for red chili pepper they call hot sauce I waited, even asked another waiter and no response still had my food getting cold and no hot sauce. Had to waive the cashier to bring me some and she flagged someone and so shysty brings me 1 itty bitty container I'm like I need more. Still waited on that. Never gave us nor brought us entre soups that whatever soup of the day it is. Got squat. Ignored no refills, as if we didn't exist. Bad service from when I stepped in the restaurant was sitting there for more than 10min. Till I got adressed and even then worse customer service ever. Food was ok not as great as it use to be. But I don't think I'll ever come back. Idk what it was for us to have bad service and not attended. Yet others they were on top of it. I was like okaayy.whatever. And as we leave we got the fortune cookies. FYI so Stale guys you need to ck expiration date on that too. I'm more than sure they are Expired.

Excellent! Service was great- food delish! I had the veggies and chicken plate and it was perfect. Hubby had sweet and sour chicken and he said it was excellent. Cabbage soup was delightful. Can’t wait to try more of their menu items.

I didn't like the food most of food was very greasy. The sauce for the chicken almond was very gummy. The water tasted awful. And the soft drinks were flat.

I had high hopes for this place, because I love Asian food, but I disliked this place. 1st the food had absolutely no flavor, 2nd Steamed dumplings are not steamed dumplings it’s steamed Gioza yuck tasted raw. 3rd the price for the food I got, and literally threw away everything. I didn’t like anything I ordered. Order at your own risk

Extremely slow service, even slower food delivery. Crab puff balls were disgusting and over cooked.

This place used to be so good. Ordered sweet and sour chicken today and received small portion and no egg roll like they used to give. Ordered Orange chicken also and was tasteless and they used dark meat. Lo mein noodles nothing more than spaghetti with some type of sauce. Was my fav/ but will not waste my money here anymore.

Bad service and over cooked food. Complained to no resolution. I don't recommend this restaurant.

I've picked up food from here through the years. Excellent taste and it is always always always fresh! Very tasty dishes that are seasoned well and cooked to perfect textures.

Food is good. Small place but good food. I recommend it. They have advance order and pick up via drive thru.

Orange chicken was just soy sauce.cleaning smell over whelmed any food smells couldn't finish my plate because it was to much salt. While cheep ya all should not pretend your Chinese

Best Chinese food in Brownsville. Prices are very reasonable. Food is very authentic. Delicious!

Asked about vegan options. They recommended a tofu and mixed veggie dish with garlic.had ordered that with a non vegan meal. Unfortunately I imagine the tofu was deep fried with the chicken from my other dish, because a piece of the chicken ended up in the tofu dish.which in turn lead to a very upset vegan girlfriend. I will say that this lotus is still my preferred one of the 3 we have. But I just can't help feel it was intentional just to "stick it to the vegans".

Food was more like already prepared and just warmed up. Sushi was store bought I think. Service so-so. The server never came back after our food was served. Would not go back.

Food wasn't good, sushi rolls were not fresh, chicken was drowning in sauce, crab puffs were not fully cooked. I don't mind sushi rolls that are maybe a day old.these were changing color. 99.9% went straight into the garbage.

I don't know what I'm more discussed with the roach in my drink or the way the manager handled the situation terrible all around Easter lunch after church

Today we had bad service we didn't get chips and no one came to check up on us. My son said there was a lot of flies on the windows not cleaning them out. Had to go to the front to ask for my refill bad service today

Needs new management on top of unprofessionalism server has more respect that the manager. Walked In had a issue as soon as I walked with the manager I don't know what my family and I did. We are regulars and then to top it off there is a bug in my drink and she didn't even seem bothered she kept saying repeatedly that it was un intentional and that was not because of ealier
