Lovers Pizzeria reviews
16Absolutely the best pizza ever! Be sure to try the Poblano pizza with Hen of the Woods mushrooms. Delicious
It’s hard to make a bad pizza. Even bad pizza is decent. What I’m getting to is I can’t remember a TERRIBLE pizza. But this pizza definitely got my attention. It’s AMAZING. And I will remember it forever. The crust was gorgeous. All the flavors were spot on. It’s fresh pizza. Probably my new favorite in town. Wish I got to try the poblano. I’ll be back.
The location is easy to miss. Parking lot is small. Seating isn’t too comfortable, thankfully weather was nice. That is the only issue here.
The pizza makes it worth the inconveniences of the property.
Just had my first slice here and the pizza is incredible. They clearly use a live culture leavened dough, and it makes for an extremely pleasing mix of textures between the crisp but-not-too-crisp bottom and airy but light top of the crust. The Poblano cream pizza was also a unique and pleasant surprise.
I do think the prices are a bit high, as there are several great pizza options nearby that are significantly less for whole pies - though they don't offer by-the-slice.
I personally think they should raise the by-the-slice price to $5 and do 1/6 of pizza slices instead of 1/8. The size of the slice I got is a little slim for the price. I also feel like the whole pizza prices could come down about 3-4 dollars.
Still, amazing pizza.and I'm hoping these guys get some great business!
Update: They have an incredible lunch special now for $9 for two slices and a soda! Everyone needs to try the poblano pizza!
Slices are worth the price! This is gonna be the spot for my son and I. We’re getting a whole one next time.
All of the yes. Flavors and texture match the quality of ingredients and care that goes into every pie. I grew up with great pizza in the tri-state area and this place does not disappoint. Not quite the same style but unique in its own way and restores the faith.
Fantastic pizza, the pizza has a great crisp and dough. The pizza holds up to the toppings. This is one of my favorite pizza spots in San Antonio now.
No question, the outdoor set up and efficiency needs work… but OMG… best pizza slices I’ve had in decades. Reminds me of the famous Joe’s pizza in NYC. Just grateful SA finally has a worthy pizza slice!
2 slices = 1 ny slice for all you east coast pizza lovers. Don't sleep on the pablano. Possibly the best pizza in texas
Came In today and had one of every slice. All of it was killer! The crust was a legit sourdough and that has been rare for me to find. The crust had a perfect crisp, we ate outside and the vibe was rad even in this heat. Staff was sweet and friendly. The sand out tho was the pablono. It had a perfect mouth feel, nice and soft on top with a crispy crust.
The crust is very tasty, just the right amount of crunchiness, and has a sourdough bread taste making you scream oooyiah. The Ingredients were of the utmost most quality. Definitely going back!
So a pepperoni 16inch pizza here is 28 dollars, it tastes fine but for 28 dollars I would go elsewhere. There is no indoor seating, the crust was the best part of this okay pizza, cheese could have been more and the sauce wasn’t over taking still I just cant justify going back.
If you have ever had New York pizza, this place is a huge let down. Outdoors smelled like garbage. Flavor was lacking, crust was hard, and not in a crispy good way, it was chip a tooth hard. Disappointing
Stop what you’re doing and get to lovers asap. This place is insanely good. They offer pizza by the slice so you can try everything. The poblano pizza lives rent free in my head. I would go every day if I could. The staff couldn’t be more welcoming. GO NOW. BEST PIZZA IN SA
The best pizza i've ever had (and i've been to a LOT of places in New York). Highly recommend you give this place a visit! The owners are friendly and working so hard to provide the best pizza in SA. Don't let any bad reviews tell you different, this place is the real deal. Get the pepperoni pizza and don't sleep on the poblano pizza.
Okay, let’s start from top to bottom:
The food: the crunch of the pizza crust was fantastic, the dough was a little underwhelming, there was very little sauce, and the toppings where scare.
The service: friendly, happy service who provided support and rang us up quickly
The atmosphere: it was lacking to say the lease. The benches were not serviced and there it was unclean. That and it didn’t have any music
Overall, i plan on coming back and trying this place again. Spent $28 on 5 slices of pizza also. So kinda overpriced
