Lucy's Cafe reviews
7This place is as it looks not that great. Place is falling apart, and they don't hide it. The food is meh at best. We ordered (2) omelets and (2) kids pancakes. The omelets were nothing to write home about but did warrant a bad review as it was bland and tasted like whatever was cooked on the flat top grill before. Kids pancakes also had a breakfast scramble onion taste to them. So poor marks of food cross contamination. After the very disappointing meal was met with the check that I could only look over and see prices AFTER we paid. Because "that's just how we do things here" was what I was told. After reviewing the check, I saw that there were several mistakes/misprints on the menu. I am totally aware of inflation, but at least say or let customers know that prices may have changed. Getting overpriced food and over prices drinks is the main reason to AVOID this place at all cost. There is a much better I'd go as far to say it's light-years ahead of this place called Abuelas Kitchen on Grandview and 8th. Do yourself a favor don't go to Lucy's.
Went and had lunch with my Step-Father and my cousin. Service was great, food was excellent and atmosphere was friendly. Great authentic food if you are looking for some Mexican Food. If you have the opportunity try this place out. It's small but has potential to grow.
This was my favorite restaurant years ago to get caldo de res, now the caldo de res is nasty. Bring the old cook back.
Lucy's has great food! Staff is always really nice, I don't really speak Spanish so sometimes that can be hard. But such a great place!
The food was very good and authentic. I had the Huevo rancheros with chucks of beef. Very tender. Red sauce has a nice kick. I imagine not many non-hispanic people know about this place or eat there. Waitresses have very limited English.
It's a really small Mexican restaurant but the service and atmosphere is nice. Reminds me a little bit of the restaurants in Mexico. Unfortunately, their food is just ok and coffee cups are really small so I would have to keep asking for a refill. Only came here to see if they had menudo, which they didn't so that was a disappointment.
