Luigi's Little Italy reviews
15The food is great and the little bread rolls have to be my favorite and I'm not big on bread! The business is very clean!
My husband and I were looking for a sit down dinner open on a Sunday afternoon in Abilene on our long trip home. Italian food is our favorite and Little Italy's did not disappoint. We had the Caprese appetizer. The mozzarella was seasoned well. There could have been more basil and less spinach, but it was good. I had the Veal Cremora, with the mushrooms and Brandy cream sauce. The sauce was under seasoned but a few shakes of salt and pepper brought the meal into proper balance. The veal was slightly overcooked for my personal preference but it was not tough. I would order it again. My husband ordered the Baked Pasta Sampler. The marinara sauce was fresh and light, but also under seasoned. We noticed the manicotti and the ziti were handmade and well prepared. Both dishes came with salad. My husband chose the house dressing, a tomato basil vinaigrette which he really liked. I ordered the Greek salad, which came with an upcharge. The atmosphere was pleasant, family friendly but romantic. Our server was cheerful, checked on us frequently, and did the business proud by suggesting we order dessert to go. We will have to return for some cannolis and limoncello cake. Overall, we had a good experience and will likely return when we pass through Abilene again.
Little Italy is back, and I am very happy! This is the only place in Abilene I can get veal; and was heart broke when the restaurant struggled and the chef left. Used to go here when I wanted a romantic date night (often), but the quality and service really got bad, so I stopped going; I usually give restaurants 3 tries and Little Italy ran out. On a whim I took my son with me the other night, and was very surprised. It looks like there was a change in ownership as there was new construction 2 bars added etc. The food was great this time! Back when Little Italy opened the pizzafast food place north Abilene, the quality of the food got really bad, I am glad they have a good chef now. I am bringing my wife here asap.
Great place for a family dinner! I recommend the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and ordered another to take home. Chef Ibrahim was outstanding and the serving staff were very attentive and helpful. Will revisit whenever I am in town
Finally tried it was very good chicken picatta was excellent, prices $$. The house dressing was terrific. Got a cannoli to go shell was super hard could barley bite but filling great.
Great Italian restaurant, staff is friendly and the food quality to match. Everyone in our group enjoyed their dish thoroughly. Will be back.
I’m pretty much done with this place. Every order there is something wrong. Ordered delivery and didn’t get salad dressing. Used to be a great place.
The service was great. The bread, appetizers, and drinks were wonderful.
Unfortunately, my chicken Alfredo was bland. It (sauce and chicken) lacked flavor/seasoning. I can taste the fresh/homemade pasta, I’ll give them that, but I wish I had enjoyed it.
Thank you for honoring the military.
The hot crusty rolls and dipping oil were amazing, the rest of the food was delicious, and the service was stellar. I highly recommend their house tomato vinaigrette dressing. This was our first visit and we will absolutely be back.
My family and I have eaten here many times. The food is consistently delicious and authentic! We’ve ordered several different dishes and are always happy with what we order. It’s family friendly and always a’chatter with conversation.
Service is always great, pleasant, and prompt. Dessert is also very yummy!
Wonderful soup and piccata. Tea is great. Try the limoncello if you have room for dessert.
Really good food in general
Endless rolls
Shrimp scampi was great
Calamari was a bit lacking
Server was fairly slow but nice. He may have been busy
Went to try it out was seated and then was told they were not seating anymore customers. They quit serving dine in customers at 940 pm time was 942 pm but we're welcome to either come back another time or order to go. Maybe will try another time.
We recently ate dinner around 8: 00 p.m. The place was not very busy at the time and the service and food was great compared to this time last year.
The atmosphere here hasn't changed since I was a child and neither has the food. It's welcoming but can feel small for a large group sometimes. Despite that it's never uncomfortable. The food is some of the best Italian in Abilene in my opinion. My family has been eating here for generations and it's a tradition we hope to continue. The stuffed mushrooms and mushroom soup are top notch and the fettuccine is always hot and perfect. Never had a bad meal in all the years we've been coming here.
