Lulu's, Houston TX

Update: Lulu's is just the best and keeps getting better! I had the spaghetti pomodorini today, my third time. Today it was the best ever! I do NOT understand the negative reviews, this is such a lovely restaurant. The food was not only fresh, but it was so flavorful. The portions were perfect. We felt transported back to some of our favorite jaunts in Italy. Everyone was so friendly, especially Frank. We look forward to our next visit.

Absolutely worst tiramisu. Ladyfingers were super spongy but not soaked in coffee, the mascarpone ratio was way off. Disappointing

This is one of our favorite spots for lunch after church. The food is great, as is the service. Our server, Christopher, was outstanding in every way.

Lobster bisque and truffle risotto were delicious and the service was great! Chicken Milanesa was so-so, I would try something else next time.

Adorable spot for a date but the culinary experience leaves much to be desired. On the bright side, the service was commendable. Our waiter was incredibly pleasant. However, I parked my car not in valet only to have the valet approach me inside and request payment for my own vehicle, which I then paid. Needless to say, the overall experience was far from satisfactory. I have no intention of returning.

Only brunch was offered when we were there but it was fantastic! If you can get scrambled eggs that aren't hard, chewy and dry you've got yourself a winner! The menu and wine list are awesome and I can't wait to go back and try lunch or dinner. Service was excellent

If there is ever an establishment that needs to have soundproofing to lower the overall noise, it is Lulu's. Food is good. Service excellent. However, I'm not going back there until I hear a report that the noise level has been reduced.

Very good foods, it could have been a 4 stars only if the portion size were a bit larger for the price

We went for HRW and the food was pretty good. Service was attentive, but kind of uneven. A bunch of little things that just made you wonder, e.g. I finished a topo chico. 2 different waiters stopped by the table. Neither took the empty bottle. There were water glasses on the table. I asked for a topo. They brought it without a glass. I guess I was supposed to use my water glass. Just stuff like that.

Food is really good, service and atmosphere are very nice. The menu is great I get the steak and eggs and it’s absolutely delicious

Sunday lunch was quite joyous here! We enjoyed a very nice spanish/italian inspired meal consisting of gazpacho, olives and focaccia, a grilled caesar salad and a not so traditional carbonara. Lovely environment and decor, also smooth relaxing music. The service was very attentive and positive. Overall I really enjoyed Lulu’s! In my opinion the telltale sign of a good italian spot is the coffee, and these folks nail it!

My original review was removed. I’ll add it again. I have dined here numerous times but the last time I came in, I forgot to grab my credit card on the way out.

About 30min after I left the manager called me to let me know that I had forgotten my credit card and that it will be kept in their safe.

A few hours later I saw transactions start going through on my credit card which has never happened before. I locked the card and sent an email to the Palacios-Murphy corporation asking why an employee replicated my card.

Their response was offering me “condolences” for my misfortune. I will not be returning here and anybody who visits this establishment should be careful with their credit card information.

A very lovely spot for a date. We really enjoyed our food. The server recommended I add chicken to my carbonara dish, but I really could have gone without, it was very filling. It is a bit pricey, we got charged $10 because we asked for a small amount of olives to go with our bread.

It was so so good, delicious food, wonderful atmosphere and service at a high level, this is probably the best Italian restaurant in Houston that I have been to!

Entrees were delicious. Very flavorful and well prepared. Caviar appetizer was not good. Service was attentive and enjoyable. Great date night location

Risotto was under cooked but had great flavor, calamari was delicious. Caviar was underwhelming however our server was super sweet and accommodating

The service was top notch as Fran was very attentive and helpful. The brunch menu is a little limited but the skirt steak, potatoes, and eggs were amazing. Very flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The bomboloni and tiramisu were my least favorite. The tiramisu was not sweet at all and a little spongy. The bomboloni just wasn't what I was hoping for.

I live in the área and have driven by many times thinking I need to try this place sometime. It looks nice, quaint, and romantic. My husband and I decided to stop in for appetizers and drinks. The atmosphere was great, the manager and waitstaff were great but we were a bit disappointed with our food. We ordered the charcuterie and cheese board with bread basket. The food was good but just ordinary nothing spectacular. It was plain salami and either jamón serrano, prosciutto or jamón ibérico. It came with three different cheeses a little dalop of honey mustard and it was supposed to come with fruit compote and bread. We ordered a bread basket so they didn’t bring bread with the charcuterie until I mentioned it but it was the same kind of bread as the bread basket. The bread basket was $5 and nothing spectacular. I told our waiter which I think was also the manager that we did not get the fruit campote that was on the menu and he apologized. He brought us a little bowl of what seemed to be previously frozen grapes. What I know of campote is that it is a fruit sauce. The food was good but it was something I could have made at home but my ingredients/ food would’ve been of higher quality. I also asked for a plate of basil leaves to add to the taste of the meat and cheese. The atmosphere was great and the employees were very nice. The drinks were also tasty. I don’t know that I will go again. I don’t want to pay a high price for something I can make at home. The place sure is cute though.
