Mae Simmons Park reviews
7If you are there to fish rumors, they are bass, catfish, and other species. But I haven't caught anything at all. Everyone fly fishes here use baitcasters, spin reels etc. So someone is catching something. But the park is clean but young people have been leaving beer cans behind everywhere. The area is really big and a lot of very tall river grass and tree and green turf. But I still come here to fish for bass. I do recommend coming here.
This is such a beautiful area of Lubbock. However, there are poor restroom facilities.
I enjoyed my walk here, the birds, bunnies, and prairie dogs were friendly. I gave it 3 stars because it could be cleaner.
Great place to be with nature.
Ducks and prairie dogs.
The cattail reeds have not taken over completely yet like it has across the street. You can still get to the water if you want to go fishing.
Anyone reading this please ask City council to control the cattails before they take over the shore completely. They are a real bummer.
We come here for disc golf. It is by far our favorite course in Lubbock. The only real problem is the amount of littering. Some holes are covered in trash and it's very sad. This is a beautiful gem of a course and I truly wish people would take better care of it.
Nice place to fish or just hang out. I go here to jog 3-4 times a week. If you like the outdoors this is a good place to go to.
Great site for the West Texas Running Clubs "Toys for Tots" December Run!
