Indian Restaurant Maharaja reviews
17Island Breeze Party Rentals delivered a chocolate fountain for a baby shower at the event hall.
Delicious food. Great staff. Amazing party hall and catering options. Best place in Houston for authentic Bangladeshi food.
Boiled eggs had the hard shells and the chicken roasts was way salty (probably they put salt two times)
We ended up throwing out Beef kabob. It was harder than rock.
Excellent food, best service, very normal price, highly recommended… specially buffet lunch.everyday
Just ridiculous service! Ordered food to go today. When we went to pick it up, no one was at the restaurant front to give us the food. I called twice, nobody answered and the mailbox was full. They provided an alternative number in the voice-mail and that phone number was out of order as well! There was some staff, including a lady manager rushing for a banquet order. She had eye contact, still decided to ignore and continue with whatever they were doing with no acknowledgement. Waited about 20 minutes and finally left!
BTW, this wasn't the first time with this kind of bad service. On another previous occasion, we again waited forever until someone showed up at the front. So this seems so be the norm with this restaurant! If you value your time and money, ignore this place. Can't understand how this restaurant functions with this lousy service!
A vibrant atmosphere reminding south asians about home.more than just a restaurant.patrons enjoy the warmth oozing through.great service and food too.try the fried chicken if u r into such snacks.the beef nihari is out of the world!
They are one of the Bengaladeshi owned restaurants in Houston. A very good place for deshi food. They also have a hall for parties.
I've had better experience with their catering than the everyday regular menu.
I traveled from Florida for wedding on Saturday. My family brought me here. We had great dinner on Thursday for Desi Chinese night. Great food and great service.
Have been going to this place for a long time. Never thought of giving a review since it is always crowded or has their party center booked. Well, the Chinese buffet is good, the chow-mein is a crowd pleaser, love the bite-sized chicken fry and thai soup.
I tried their appetizers too here and there and it is not bad. I like their Bangladeshi buffet too. I just wish the place was more clean especially the floors and they would have a new coat of paint on the walls. But they have renovated the bathroom. It is super clean. Staff is cordial and helpful too.
Maharaja halal restaurant is a popular place for halal food lover. The food is very good and perfect for whom are looking for south Asian taste. Varieties of mouthwatering dishes are served. Biryani and curry is one of the best menu here. This Indian restaurant is very popular among Bangladeshi and Indian community living in Houston areas. There are different gathering can arrange in Maharaja restaurant such as birthday party, religious get together and some other casual group meeting. There are wide areas and it can occupy more than 200 people or maybe more.
Make sure you know the rules of what to eat/ what is served before you come here.
Came for Iftar based on reviews, sadly one of the food preparers was (extremely rude).
There’s a buffet, all uncovered and 3 were covered. I assumed that they forgot to open it, so I open it to put some chicken in my plate.
Comes that very rude preparer, saying (Not Allowed) and pushes the cover to close while my hand still on the tongs!
Mind you all this happened before prayer time!
One star for the grilled chicken.
Definitely my first and last time here
This is the best IndoPak restaurant in Houston. Equipped with a hall room, which can be used to host a birthday party, wedding party, engagement and etc, this place serves the best IndoPak food in Houston. The chef and the staff are amazing. The biryani is to die for. Every Thursday they have fusion Chinese food, influenced by Bengali spices, which is out of this world. I highly recommend this place if you are in Houston.
Probably unusual for this place but when I walked in the place was empty except a large group of indians having an argument. The food was ok.
Awesome food. Unlike most restaurants, each of their food tastes authentic with correct flavor.
Went there to try their special Bangladeshi-type Chinese buffet on Wednesday Nights. Loved the food. After a long time, we got a restaurant that actually provides food with the exact Bangladeshi flavor and spice level. From the appetizers to entree to dessert everything was just perfect and tremendously delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
One thing, if you want to enjoy the dinner buffet, You should go very first hours of the dinner. The late you go, the food becomes a bit messy.
Stopped in for a bite and everything was delicious! The homemade nan bread comes out hot, fresh and glistening with a touch of butter. I tried almost everything from the buffet. Cream chicken and all the vegetables are great. They bring you a chicken leg quarter an it was fantastic, flavor and texture. Try to leave room for the cold rice pudding for dessert, it's the perfect cool down after a somewhat spicy meal. Sorry I ate it all before I could take pictures!
I love their Bangla - Chinese buffet night on Thursdays. All their Bangladeshi dishes are authentic and delicious.
