February 7 2023, cold but awesome night for viewing! 30 minutes after sunset, and the show was on! Flashes and blinking lights, some moving and some rising! Color changes, very good night for our group! Had a local provide direction for best viewing and stay for the first 20 minutes or so! We took the cold wind like troopers, but 90 minutes with inappropriate clothing sent us back to the car! Dress for this and don’t be discouraged! When you see them it’s a bucket list event!

It’s nice for Boondocking, and every night there are a half dozen RVs more that set up shop. But it comes with one caveat: the area is infested with mice, and unless your rig is sealed beyond hermetic, this is the place where you’re going to get a furry visitor or two.

Clean view of the surrounding countryside. Pleasantly surprised that the viewing binoculars were free to use. But they were completely unusable. Dust and dirt coated the inside of the glass.

Everything else there was nice, with lots of parking and a fairly clean viewing platform.

We camped here overnight to look for the Marfa Lights. No success. We pulled
Into the parking lot and parked at the far end in the afternoon. By the end of twilight cars were parked bumper to bumper in front of and behind us. Maybe 20 carloads of people but they were all gone by 10 pm. The building houses clean pit toilets, no water. Everything very clean and picked up. Lots of highway noise in the evening. Freight trains go by occasionally.

Beautiful and amazing. You just sit in awe and want to try to explain them, my best advice is to sit and watch. You will be amazed.

We didn’t see any lights but that’s ok. We had a great time viewing the awesome sunset and star gazing. We went twice while we were in the area. The restrooms were clean. Viewing platform was nice.

Only saw one light that behaved somewhat oddly. Pretty firmly in the camp that atmospheric temperature discontinuities are the source of the phenomenon.

Very exciting for first time visit. Weather was a bit drizzly so didn’t make for a long stay. Didn’t see anything crazy, but we’re a few lights. Taillights? Oil rigs? Seems like no one will ever know.

Very cool and very interesting! I’m not sure it’s worth coming to Marfa for but if
you are around the area it’s a must see!

Nice park. Didn’t see the lights as it was day when we stopped.
Very happy engineer on the train that went by when we waved.
Love, love west Texas.

We saw the lights! This time recent rains cleared the sky from dust and clouds had cleared up by nightfall. In the dark you could easily see the night sky full of stars. Looking at the Marfa Lights you could see flickering lights appear and disappear. At one point a red orange light would bounce and flicker. Keep in mind, viewing depends on the weather and no full moon.

Its just Cars on a road. They all have a distinct pattern and look like any other cars you see far away.

This is my second trip here. The first one was nine years ago and we did not see a thing.
We went last night and after about two hours we began to see lights. FINALLY!
I recorded several videos and took some photos. We weren't sure of what we saw at first and thought it was from the headlights but they began to move around. They were small at first and then multiplied. They were about 2 miles out. Mostly white but one was orange. It kind of appeared like a baby Mars. It was an amazing experience!

The lights whether from vehicles on highway 67 to the west mostly of the blinking red light tower. Those are white and red lights and are commonly seen on clear nights. Then there are the Blue Green lights to the East which are the unexplained lights and are only seen on clear, cool, Moonless and windless nights.

These are the lights of history and have been seen for a couple hundred years. I was fortunate to have been there on a night in late Spring of 2002 when they were quite active. Some locals were telling me it was rare for them to be so active. You can easily tell the car lights from the Marfa Lights by the Marfa color, position and the fact that the ground under them will often light up too. If you only see white and red lights you saw cars on Rte. 67, but if you see the blue green lights you saw the Mystery Lights of Marfa.

Wonderful place to come out with family and friends, bring some blankets to lay down on, some evenings get really windy and cold. Bring a foldable chair if you're going to be there for more than 2 hours, believe me time passes that quick. I had a chance to see 2 shooting stars, definitely worth the time and drive. Highly recommend!

I saw the lights on two different occasions, years apart, and what an amazing experience! The lights appeared differently each time I saw them. They are mysterious, sometimes playful, even. A true phenomenon.
