I lived at MST from 6/ 2018-9/2022
My review has changed from 5 stars to 1 star. I used to love where I lived. During my time there the best manager was Rob Bridges. The building felt like a very holistic community. Management and leasing staff where very approachable even after normal business hours. The building was clean. Everything changed when new management took over. The building started going downhill fast.
1. Residential housekeepers were fired, and commercial housekeepers were brought in. The building went from being clean and smelling good to smelling like dirty mop water and visible dirt. If you go to MST (2nd floor) and look at the panel area to press for an elevator there is still an unidentifiable substance on one of the panels (over 4 months now). The elevators are still filthy.
2. The emails sent by new management were condescending. The email tones were like we were in college with a dorm attendant.
3. BEWARE IF YOU PLAN TO MOVE FOR BASKETBALL COURT. MST plans to close the basketball court a popular draw for many residents. The rumor is they want to attract a different crowd and plan to put in racquet ball and rock climbing. Hopefully with the multiple complaints, petition that was signed, phone calls and emails to upper management, and a protest in the lobby the court has been saved.
4. THE POOL: MST was one of the only pools to stay open until midnight. This was so great with the heat wave Houston had. It was also great for people who worked long hours and still had othe responsibilities before they could enjoy the pool. New management came in and closed the pool at 10pm. The reasoning we were told was they had to clean it for the people who want to swim early. It is kind of hard to believe that story when THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT CLOSED THE SKY POOL.
5. New management fired concierge. The new concierge was letting people up to apartments without calling residents which creates a huge safety issue. The new mail room concierge kept losing packages. I hear this continues to happen. My packages lost for over a week were found by the leasing manager.
6. Main reason for moving: AN EVACUATION OF THE BUILDING was called one morning. Only one announcement was given overhead (I found this out later). I work nights so I sleep during the day. When I woke up later that day I had multiple text messages: Where was I? , the building was evacuated for a gas leak, no one saw me. If this was a serious situation and only one announcement was given this could have been catastrophic situation. I no longer slept good in MST. Previously during an evacuation, we got overhead pages, text messages and emails. This was not acceptable. There was a gas leak and it happened again after I moved out.
7. REASON I GOT TO MOVE QUICKLY: There was a glitch with leases not being signed. New management said we did not sign our leases. I know I signed mine and I spoke to other residents who said they know they signed. This put me month to month. New management would not honor a concession given by previous management because I had an owner who let their dog poop and urinate on my balcony. I ended up paying over $4000 dollars to leave. The apartment I was in is was not worth over $4000. Upper management would not honor my concession even though I had proof of the incident and not able to use my balcony for months. The whole upper management team went down. I paid the outrageous price and got out.
8. In conclusion: I used to love MST. I thought I would never leave until I decided to buy a place. I forgot to address the increased car theft, doors leading in and out garage do not close on some floors. We were sent an email to make sure we locked our doors. There is no transparency with the crime in the building compared to other luxury high-rises. I have heard at least one of the new managers brought in was already fired. If you decide to move there go through William Kennelly. He is the last remaining staff member from when management was excellent.

This place was a gem when the old management was here, it was a blast sadly can't say the same thing about the new management. This whole place is going down hill not only are they being SUPER racist with all the black residents but also getting rid of the amazing concierge and valet team. This whole building wouldn't be anything with out the concierge, they are very nice and helpful which i believe all residents here can agree. These new rules they are sending us everyday are ridiculous it doesn't even feel like MY home anymore. Won't be renewing my lease here, sucks to say that due to actually loving this building and the amenities.

It was a fun night here we met the lovely colin concierge we was a joy & a blast but I have a complaint I couldn’t get into the spray tan booth after 12 & he DIDNT HAVE ANY RAMON OR TAKIS BUT MOSTLY RAMON. I think they should stalk the lobby with Ramon for all the late night people coming through it

Trash. Just trash.

I’ve had friends that have lived here since 2018 and this place has gone beyond down hill.

The concierge is useless and ignores incoming calls. They allow anyone in the elevator and on to various floors without calling the resident they are claiming to visit.

The valet will speed and whip your car into the parking area causing the tires to squeal soo loud. I saw them do this with a variety of cars: Chevys, Escalades, Audis, and PORSHES. Yes, Porshes.

The new wave of residents here…. I have no words. Absolutely none.

The amenities aren’t good enough to keep my friends here, and any consideration I had to move here is completely gone.

This place is looks good from a far, but it’s far from good.

Save your money and find somewhere else to live! Trust me on this!

Awesome concierge team and valet staff. Have met the very caring people working the daily operations. Josh was the gem of this place, really sad that MST chose to lay him off. Josh always took care of things and was the nicest person to have a conversation with. However, leasing / management is absolutely outright atrocious and infested with downright incompetent folks. Doesn’t get back to you when you need tasks done (i.e new parking spaces, requests, questions.). Recently went on a getaway vacation for 2 weeks and received threat for eviction process in just 11 days late. Paid my full lease in distaste, will not renew and will use all of my influence to keep this place away from anyone I know.

I’m still here because of the staff and community-orientation. I do have my favorites. Josh Zellner is the hardest working leasing consultant/manager. William has his way with getting ANYTHING done. Connor is awesome and very friendly. The list goes on. Anyone that’s interested in living in downtown Houston, state of the art amenities and amazing people, MST is a no brainer!

I am sad for Josh leaving the staff. He was extremely responsive and went beyond the responsibilities of his job scope to accommodate us and many other residents during his employment as MST.

I just moved to Houston and was looking for a place that felt like home. Market Square Tower is the best downtown luxury apartment I found. It had everything I need and was in a great location. The manager always offers to help out with anything, so it feels like home away from home!

I have lived in many different high rise towers in downtown Houston and Market Square Tower is by far the most luxurious. I love the big windows, the high ceilings, and the modern appliances in each apartment. Its location is great too with an easy commute to my office downtown.

I work in finance and I live my life at a breakneck pace. I need a place that's close to my office, has great amenities, and is in a building with excellent security. Market Square Tower has been the only place that I've been able to find that ticks all these boxes.

I moved into this building this past year and I absolutely love it. The location is just perfect, you're within walking distance of everything. The apartments are also amazing. All the finishes are top-of-the-line and there isn't a bad view in the building. I love living here!

The best thing about Market Square Tower is its location. If you need anything, it's never more than a five minute walk away. The building itself is obviously the nicest in the area and it's great to know that I'm living in a place that feels safe and clean.

Market Square Tower is the best luxury apartment in downtown Houston. The apartments boast a modern and stylish design and amenities that fit any preference for comfort and entertainment. They have locations all over the city making it easy to find your dream location. I am so happy with my decision to live at Market Square Tower!

I have lived in Market Square Tower for over 2 years now and I can not imagine living anywhere else. The building itself is gorgeous, modern, and has some of the best amenities in the whole city. I love my floor plan and how close to the ground level it is. It's also right next to Capitol Tower which is one of my favorite buildings in Houston.
