I recently moved to Dallas and have been at the Marquis on Gaston for almost 8 months. Rod has resolved all my concerns; he is always so welcoming and willing to help with anything. The maintenance team is really nice too; I had a couple of problems with my AC, and they fixed them right away. It's near the bus and train stations, supermarkets, and restaurants. The amenities, including the 24/7 gym, pool, dog park, and grill area, are the best. I strongly recommend these apartments; they have a good community, and most of the apartments have a balcony where you can enjoy fresh air.

I lived at the Marquis on Gaston for almost three years. The first two years were wonderful, in fact I had previously left a 5 star review. Previously the staff was so caring, responded to all calls and emails promptly, put on fun events for the residents, were helpful, etc etc. The last 10 months, however, have been awful. Fairly certain there was a change in management, the previous director was AMAZING, but I haven't seen him in quite some time. The staff turnover has resulted in many never-returned calls, emails, lost paperwork, rude staff members, and more. Sad to see how quickly this place went downhill. To upper management- please reconsider the changes you've made recently and start prioritizing the residents again instead of money. Glad that I'm moving.

I have been at the Marquis on Gaston for almost two years now. I love all the amenities including the free Starbucks coffee, gym, food trucks, and pool/grill area. I always receive the best care from Rod. He’s great at his job and always puts residents needs first. #CWSPassportToParadise

We’ve been living here for 81/2 years now, we love the complex and the community staff. But the environment of some of the people who has moved in are very different, we had a experience about a week ago that scared us, someone put something in front of our door. Just wish they would try and investigate things like this more. And another thing the person that stays above us is really noisy and heavy footed. You can hear every foot step and the floor squeaks every time they walk. Other those issues it’s a great community.

A lot of fake reviews. Place continues to go downhill.

Edit

To the person responding with generic remarks, the whole apartments are trash. Your ideology of life is deliberately delusional. Imbeciles running the place.

Desmond was the best to work with! He was very compassionate, understanding, and willing to help with a concern I had.he really went above and beyond to find an alternate solution that accommodated me but was feasible per business needs.thank you so much!

I enjoyed walking through this apartment complex. They have a variety of unit styles and types and are located in a great area of town. However, not each of the units have the same upgrades or touches. You have to call to ask if one has a washer and dryer or white cabinets or carpet. Also, they have a faulty system when applying. I applied and was denied over something that I shouldn’t have been denied about. Nobody rectified the situation until they realize I was not approved because of something on their end.

I just resigned my lease and I love it here. Communication is great from the leasing office and the staff are really polite. I use the gym almost daily and I love how close we are to a lot of fun places in Dallas.

Very nice apartment right next to two train stops and deep Ellum. Staff does a great job answering any questions and there are great cookies and coffee in the clubhouse.

UPDATE: They responded back to my review saying they are happy to provide me with the photos they have of the "trash" they allegedly removed but when I requested for a copy of the photos with a date and time stamp, they still refuse to provide it to me! Absolute scammers! Don't rent here by any cost at all
*****

I have lived at this apartment complex for 3 years due to its proximity to my school. After finally moving out I received the final bill statement and they had charged me & my roommate $150 for "trash removal" and took it out of the deposit. I just couldn't believe it since my roommate had sent me photos of the apartment when he moved out. I moved 4 days earlier on July 13th and when I turned in my set of keys, I notified the leasing office in person that my roommate is still there and will not be moving out until July 17th which is the day the lease ends. I was told that is fine & it's not an issue at all (I WISH I HAD THIS IN WRITING OR RECORDED), and that he can turn his keys on the 17th or leave it in the drop box by the office. My roommate did exactly that & when I called the office about the charge, the 1st person I spoke to said that they have photos showing that things were left by the door and kitchen area which is in complete contradiction to the photos that my roommate sent me so I asked when they went to inspect the apartment and I was told that it was AFTER making sure both sets of keys were received and making sure both of us have left the premises. I asked for a copy of the photos and the person on the phone said they will have their manager email it to me but never heard back. I had already moved out of town like 5 hours away and they weren't being cooperative so my roommate had to go in person to ask about it and we found out by looking at the date & time stamp of their alleged photos, that they took the photos before the lease was even up and while my roommate still had his packed stuff in the apartment LOL (like you can't make this up)! So, we immediately told them (I was on speaker phone while my roommate was there in person at the office), that they lied about checking out the unit after both of us have moved out. There is no communication between the manager & the employees, the person we talked to said she doesn't know anything about what her other co-workers said. Ironically, later that day on the 17th my roommate had moved out all his stuff (the "trash" they claim we left behind) before turning in his key so technically they didn't even remove any trash. So, when they realized that they were in the wrong and took the photos before the lease ended, they pivoted and changed the issue to the keys not being turned in together. They said since I turned in my key 4 days earlier before the lease ended, they assumed both of us had vacated the premises, and that gave them grounds to go inspect the unit. This is despite me telling them in person that my roommate is still staying there until the last day of the lease (17th) and them acknowledging that it's "fine" with them and it's "not an issue"! I told them that when we paid rent for the month of July, we paid for all 17 days and that the lease doesn't end until 11: 59 PM on the 17th. So, turning in my set of keys on July 13th by no means should change anything because my roommate still had his set of keys. They tried to make the excuse of, "Well some people don't even turn in their keys" and other stuff, and if they receive one set of keys, they just automatically assume everyone has left the apartment. We told them this is absolutely ridiculous and that they need to refund us back our money. The employee said she will ask her manager and an hour later we got an email from her saying she "reached out" to corporate and they stand by their charges! Don't rent here, they are a bunch of scammers! When we called this week to try and get a hold of them or get a corporate number, we get put on hold for 15 to 20 minutes or at times don't even pick up the phone. Avoid this place at all costs, like I said they are a bunch of scammers and thieves!

Iv been living in the complex for 3 years now and I can say it’s good living here. When issues come up maintenance is on top of it as well as the office.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS APARTMENT. Zero out of 5 stars if you ask me.
If you are looking for Apartment in the Deep Ellum don’t even consider moving here. Never seen a corrupt and disrespectful leasing office like this one. Our lease was up on July 17th 11: 59pm and unknowingly to my roommate and I, they went in before that time to take pics of the Apt and charged us $150 for “Trash Removal” when they never touched a single thing in the Apt when we moved out because it was empty and tidy. I took pics right before I turned in key, sent them the pics which clearly proved it was cleared the same areas they sneakily too their pictures. Yet they won’t give us our money back and hang up on us. We hiring a lawyer. No tolerance for corruption. If the office doesn’t rob you, a homeless man around deep ellum will rob you in the garage or break into your Apt. STAY AWAY
Stop with the lies. Attached are the photos I took right before I locked the Apt and left my keys in the Dropbox around 7pm. My roommate and I have seen the photos you took that very morning but I still lived there. These photos right here should be all that matters. That’s how we left the Apt before lease was up. You did not remove a single item or trash from the Apt so charging for doing nothing is stealing and corrupt.
Upload the photos you took on here with a time stamp so everyone sees it.

This was my home for 5 years. I recently moved to California and am missing my home badly. I truly loved it there.

My son is a first time renter and they leased him an apartment that was not ready. The master bathroom had a leaking toilet. All base boards are dirty and need to be replaced. They have painted over them several times poorly. There was dirt and trash behind the stove and refrigerator. Very unacceptable for a first time renter. They have came in and attempted to correct the issues but still look nothing like the model unit. When I asked why wasn’t any of this done before now no one can give an answer. When I ask why didn’t Managment do a walk through no one can answer. For such a prime location and as high as the rent is you would think all this stuff would have been handled. He is stuck into the lease of course and have only been here for 7 days. The apartment is livable don’t get me wrong but definitely could have been somewhere else at these prices and they way they poorly maintain their property and units.

I applied for an apt over a month ago, and was not approved I’ve yet to be refunded my admin fee of $150. I’ve emailed and called multiple times with no response.
