Marriott Marquis Houston reviews
16The Marquis feels upscale, modern, and is very nicely decorated. There are a lot of dining options, more than other hotels, and the Walker restaurant has an amazing buffet breakfast! But the highlights of the hotel is the Altitude pool deck on the 6th floor with giant infinity pool, large tiled hot tub, Texas-shaped lazy river, and big fire pits. We visited when the pool deck was decorated with tons of Christmas lights! We spent so much time outside, they really did think of everything!
Rooms lack connectivity (plugs) and hooks to hang stuff on. The bathrooms are very basic for the price category and could benefit from a modern touch. The room service is great and the food won't disappoint.
I bought tires online when they arrive do not go in the same day they are never ready allowed these two days for pickup after that you'll be just fine
Very nice hotel. Staff are friendly and professional. Lazy River was gorgeous day and night. However, I declined housekeeping services and did early check-out to receive Marriott Bonvoy member points, and I never got them.
Stayed here for a conference. Every staff person I encountered was so kind and helpful! Very clean rooms!
Place is DINGY. Kenneth is DINGY. You would think he's doing count on criminals in Houston Lobby. Very bad service.
Had the most awful experience. The manager is the definition of what Houston is, unfortunately ghetto. I will never come here again as an ambassador. Sad sad case running the front office.
When I checked out and hit the road, I realized that all of the quarters from my coin separator were missing. While the monetary value is not significant, I am deeply concerned about the fact that someone from the valet had accessed my vehicle and took my belongings without permission.
I believe in giving businesses the opportunity to address issues, but after reaching out to the front desk to resolve this matter they just pond it off on the "3rd party" valet company that was supposed to reach out to me. It's been 72 hours and haven't heard back from anyone. Paying $65 a night for this service is definitely not worth it. Don't recommend this hotel to anyone.
Excellent! Although didn't like to have to pay extra for parking for the hotel and practically every where else we went.
Awful time, looks like the Morgan Freeman actor cares more about his reputation than his guests. Far, I was under the impression he was a Hotel Guest Attendant. Not ok!
Posting this review late, we visited here on September 9-12,2023.
Overall, very satisfied with this hotel and everything it offered! We had a very nice room with a king sized bed and a good view. It was pretty cool to see the stadium roof get opened and closed in real time! No video unfortunately. Absolutely loved the lazy river! I spent a lot of time at the pool since my bf was at a convention most of the time. Weekends are crowded, so I recommend waiting until the weekdays to float in the lazy river because you'll most likely have it all to yourself! The only negative critique I have is for the elevators. They just need to be cleaned more often. After the first day, the floors in the majority of the elevators were very sticky, almost like people spilled drinks that never got properly cleaned up. I recommend visiting the sports bar in the hotel, especially to watch games! Service there was quick and bar staff was awesome even when it was slammed!
The convention side was awesome! Very nice rooms that can accommodate very large groups. The hotel staff was very nice! Overall, a great experience and we'll be visiting again!
Lived up to the hype! Beautiful area but traffic can be bad if there is a baseball or soccer game. Also hooking up an HDMI to the TV was difficult. Someone had to come remove a dresser drawer to have access. But, it will be upgraded soon. Other than that everything was wonderful and as advertised.
Exceptional facility. Every person we encountered went out of their way to make sure our experience was great.
It was the worst place to stay. There were bed bugs in our room then we where given another room and the internet was out in our room the whole time
They did nothing to fix it.
The best thing was the Italian restarunt across the street.
Checked in yesterday at the Marquis Marriott for an event held at George R Brown Convention Center. This hotel is fantastic because it is connected with a walkway to GRB, which is great if it’s raining or too cold/hot.
Even though I arrived at the hotel before check-in time, Karen at the Front Desk, was able to not only get me checked in early, but also upgraded the room to one with a beautiful view, as well as access to the M Club.
In my opinion, front desk personnel are the most important representatives of a hotel because they set the mood for your stay. You could tell she loves her job, which is rare these days. She said if I had any problems, just come back and would help in every way possible to resolve any issue. Great employee- - the world could use more friendly smiles.
-The only reason I gave this hotel two stars is because the location is great and the Texas shaped pool is amazing.
This has to be one of the most over priced, poor service, horrible room service, horrible customer service hotels I have ever stayed at. Rooms were dirty and only the middle was clean. There’s only one microwave in the whole hotel. It’s located in the lobby only, why!? Also, No bell carts or luggage carts to make the long walk from the parking garage to the hotel. Staff was untrained or just didn’t care. What a waste for such a nice hotel. The whole Marriott experience was trash! This was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever dealt with.
