Matthews Martial Arts, Odessa TX

From day one, (our boys have been taking classes for almost 3 years) our boys were made to feel welcome and we’re challenged with physical and character training.
As parents, Todd and I appreciate how the Matthews family along with every instructor edifies yet challenges them in a safe manner to be their best!
I will continue recommending Matthews Martial Arts as an outlet for children; specifically due to their character building and physical training.

Matthews Martial Arts is not a dojo, It is THE DOJO. Best decision I've made for my son. The Matthews are 100% invested in each student. Dustin holds his standards and expectations high and the kids work hard. His positive attitude keeps the kids motivated to make him proud and keep working harder. The instructors take the time to get to know each student individually. They make each student part of the Dojo family. With this individualized attention, shyness is overcome while confidence is strengthened. My son has impressed me with the strength, agility, commitment, and level of respect he has gained during his time at MMA. With Sigung Dustin and Sibok Miranda being fantastic role models of strength, discipline, and kindness. My 10-year-old son plans to reach black belt and beyond with this dojo.

Update. The Dojo has moved down the street, my son is a black belt and working up the ranks in BJJ. My daughter is now a dragon and just beginning her journey to her black belt. Matthews is still the best dojo in town!

Awesome place to learn martial arts. Discipline, sportsmanship, and RESPECT still mean something there. My two very young great nephews are students and it is a joy and privilege to watch them grow. The instructors treat everyone like family. A true asset to our city.

Dustin and Meranda Matthews and the staff is beyond amazing and super friendly, they make the classes super fun and enjoyable for the kids and parents. They offer parent night outs, special days for the parents to join with their kids and have lots of fun events to join! By far the best experience I’ve had with a karate dojo and the like, would never consider going anywhere else!

My 4 oldest grandkids go here and they LOVE it! They are each so excited to go and they provide some of the best ‘teaching’ skills I’ve seen in a long time. Each instructor at Matthews are all very patient but at the same time expect each student to follow the rules and be respectful! Wonderful life lessons taught!

Matthews martial Arts is a wonderful place. The teachers are fun, dedicated and passionate about what they do. I wouldn't go anywhere else! Thank y'all for everything you do!

This is an amazing Dojo to have your ENTIRE family involved with! My children started there and are now 1st degree black belts! The staff there is amazing with all ages. We love our amazing Dojo family!

We have been going to Matthews Martial Arts for almost 3 years and love it! The instructors are all friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. They take the time to make sure every kid is doing their best and learning. I love the confidence it has given both my kids and the great workout they get every time they go!

My son has been going here for a while and he loves it. They teach in a way that is fun and exciting and with all the video games my son likes to play, I love this keeps him active and in shape. They’ve taught my son how to handle bullying situations and has really helped improve his confidence. I will be enrolling my daughter as well. It’s always good to know how to defend yourself, and I know they will provide my children with the tools they need.

My son loves it. He will be back again. No other place better than this Dojo. Very professional and are great with children.

We love Matthews Martial Arts! We drive 45 minutes to make it for training and it’s more than worth it for our son. The entire staff is always so friendly and welcoming!
