This is a highly professional salon. My hair is very difficult to cut properly, but Javier always delivers a perfect result. Christian did a superb job on my color. Rigorous safety protocols are in place against the coronavirus.

Very caring salon. Very patient and talented hair artists: coloring my hair (thank you Robert), and for my precision hair cut (thank you as always Javier). It has been awhile since I had a change in hair color. Robert analyzed my goal and the present condition of my hair and created the perfect color for my hair that was turning aggressively gray. Javier always takes the time to listen to what I would like my hair style to look like even though I have been going to him for years now. MaximumFX staff has always been warm and cordial. I live on the Northshore, but I make that drive because the quality of talent is top notch. Thank you.

Robert saved my hair and I couldn’t be more thankful! I had a (really) bad color job done elsewhere, and Robert not only fixed the mess, but made it look amazing! I am super picky about my hair, but I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result. I would give more stars if I could, the value was unbelievable. I've been a customer of Maximum FX for several years now. They are always friendly, professional, and clean. This was my first haircut with Natasha and she did an excellent job, considering my request, adjusting where needed, and taking her time to make sure I was satisfied. I always look forward to my appointments at Max FX S. Lamar. From the hand massages, facial hot towel wraps, and white wine, they offer so much more than the average salon. Sabrina is great working with my hair, and always does an awesome job on my makeup. Christian is a fantastic colorist, and I love that they have a policy to ‘fix’ anything you’re not completely satisfied with after a week. The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly, and the salon itself is beautiful with a lot of natural light. I never feel like anyone is snobby- in fact, everyone is very down to earth and makes me feel at home. Highly recommend.

I rarely write reviews, but I just had to! The place and people knocked it out of the park! I called and got an appt the same day with ease, I was greeted with smiles and Natasha did an AMAZING job with my haircut. I have very long hair and rarely get it cut bc too much is taken off but Natasha understood what I wanted after just a few words. Excellent customer service with free temple massage, hot tea and hand massage all during my cut/dry. I can’t wait to come back and tell everyone I know. Thank you!:)

This was my first time to the salon since I moved to the POST. I came here because it was downstairs and I had a New Client coupon - my friend picked it up for me and said it was a really nice place and the staff was nice.
I booked with Natasha, and she couldn't have been nicer or more helpful in deciding on a new, very short hair style - coming from long straight hair.
The new style is a success and I'm already excited to have Natasha coiffe another new do!

Maximum FX has been the only hair styling salon I have used since 1992. I stay with them because the professionalism and quality of hair style and color is unmatched anywhere. Amazing place to live and grow in Austin. It is a business created in Austin to serve the people of Austin in the old tradition of Austin. You have to go here! Amazing!

Sabrina washed and styled my hair this last appointment and I loved the way she styled my hair! I also enjoy the wine, hot tea and mimosas! Not to mention, the complimentary hand and temple massages! I got my hair colored at this salon today and it was a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in the door I was mesmerized. The style of the salon was beautiful, clean, and fun. The receptionist greeted me by name. I don’t know how she knew. The salon had an extremely pleasing smell. She said it was their candle. The colorist Jordan was very pleasant and warm. She helped me verbalize what color I wanted. Warm, rich, chocolate but not too dark. I felt so relaxed while she worked on my hair I could have fallen asleep. When she was done a gentleman named Javier came up and said he would shampoo me and finish me up. He was kind and gave me a massage on my temples (again relaxed). Then he blew my hair out gently and put in some wonderful smelling product. It was amazing! I felt so pampered. When I checking out I asked the receptionist how I should split the tip between the two. She told me Javier was the owner and wouldn’t take a tip. I was impressed by how unassuming he was. So I’ve been walking around all day feeling like a Greek goddess with my long, rich chocolate brown hair. I had a very pleasant experience. I recommend this salon.

Been coming here for about a year. Sabrina rocks! The staff is very nice and accommodating! Always leave here feeling pampered and relaxed.

My sister came here to get her hair done for homecoming on 10- 27-17 she wanted semi loose curls. $70 later and an hour after we left her hair on the right side fell out completely. There were no more curls remaining on the right side. It was obviously not her hair or her fault because the left side was still in good condition. The curls on the left side still look like they were done by an amateur. Very dissatisfied and very disappointed seeing as she paid so much to get it done. The person who served her was Javier​. If I can include a picture I will.
