Mayme Richie-Gillespie, MD, FAAOS reviews
8 Richie Gillespie has misdiagnosed my seven-year-old daughter with a bone cyst that was actually cancer, she went in multiple times for surgery to clear up her mistakes after realizing it was cancer, thanks to Richie Gillespie my daughter suffered from lung cancer because it has metastasized from the bone cancer that was poorly prognosis, three horrible years later and multiple surgeries including an Endo prosthesis and lung surgery her and her team will still not confess up to the damage they have done, Please be careful who you trust with your children’s health even if they seem to be completely professional in all reality sometimes they are complete flunks with a good paycheck.
I’m really hoping Richie Gillespie will see this review and feel the way she should absolutely horrible for taking away my daughters childhood
Dr. Richie Gillespie is a surgeon that has operated on me 6 times! I have a reoccurring untreatable disease in my leg labeled PVNS. This disease is very rare and Dr. Richie Gillespie continues to work on my leg to save it. Her work gives me the ability to continue my life the way I want to live it. Without her, I would have probably had a prosthetic years ago!
After more than 6 weeks of debilitating pain in my hip, with no improvement, I was referred to Dr Richie-Gillespie. She reviewed the films previously taken, and had a couple more done in the office. By the end of this visit she determined I had been misdiagnosed, and the problem was in my spine. An MRI was done, clearly showing lower back degeneration to be the root cause. A referral was made to both a Sports Medicine Specialist and a Spine Surgeon to work out the best treatment plan for me. One procedure later the pain was tolerable without pain medication. I continue to improve and my quality of life is steadily improving. Dr Richie-Gillespie’s correct diagnosis and getting me to the right specialists quickly, has restored my self sufficiency. She is truly a godsend.
Dr. Richie-Gillespie is an excellent choice as a doctor and surgeon. She and her nurse, Caroline, were caring and professional. I would recommend this doctor to anyone. She took her time when doing my surgery to make sure I had the best possible outcome. I appreciate her highly skilled work.
We sincerely hope you never need the services of this great lady; but if you do, you will never be in better hands. Dr. Ritchie-Gillespie treated me competently and respectfully. She and her nurse Caroline answered every question, were available personally by phone, and her surgical skills are incredible. I heartily recommendation her.
Dr Richie-Gillespie is an amazing surgeon. She has incredible bedside manner, always treating you as if you are the most important patient she is seeing that day. We were first introduced almost 26 years ago when I was 11 and diagnosed with osteosarcoma in my left knee. Dr Richie-Gillespie did my biopsy, an allograft 3 months later, and a revision knee and femur replacement 2 years later. I worried I might have to have multiple surgeries over the years but I have been very blessed with an amazing job done by Dr Richie-Gillespie that has now held up over 20 years. I still see her every year for check-ups and she has kept up with me as an adult. Any time I ever have concerns, she goes above and beyond to help reassure me. I don't know what I would do without Dr Richie-Gillespie in my life. I am so thankful for the happy, healthy life she has afforded me. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for the right doctor and surgeon to help them through an orthopedic oncology situation!
This dr did bone cyst removal in feb 2020 on my 7 yrs old daughter, less then 3 months later in June of 2020 it grew back, we did another surgery and after removing the “cyst” she sent it out for a biopsy it it came cancerous, now dec 2020 I was informed by md Anderson cancer hospital that due to the doing the surgery being done twice by Gillespie it spread all around the tibia and the best solution is amputation thanks to “dr” GILLESPIE. And if your are reading this GILLESPIE you should feel Responsible because you completely are.
And everybody who is thinking about doing any kind of procedures for your children at all make sure to get second opinions to keep it completely safe, Because sometimes you get Doctors like Gillespie.
I'm really hoping the doctor gets a better nurse because she's not understanding of autistic people at all. Only leaves me more flustered each time I talk to her. I haven't even started seeing Dr. Gillespie, yet. I've heard wonderful things about Dr. Gillespie, however, the nurse's bedside manner needs attention.
