Mays Family YMCA, San Antonio TX

We’ve played at this YMCA for almost ten years. The last four seasons we’ve played my children’s practice has been from 7: 30 to 8: 30. Again, this season, my eight year old’s softball practice is from 7: 30-8: 30 at night. On a Monday night. That is ridiculous. Eight year olds should be getting ready for bed at this time. I am very disappointed the YMCA doesn’t value getting kids to bed at a reasonable time for a school night.

I am very pleased to have the YMCA offer these programs to our community. We have met so many nice people and it help keep our kids active. Thank you to all the coaches and staff

Great experience with flag football. Very organized and the coaches are awesome. Perfect blend of discipline, accountability and most important of all, FUN!

Signed my daughter up for volleyball, was misinformed about the days and times, never got an email response from the sports director Cassandra Cushing about a refund, only about why she didn’t follow up with me about the incorrect times with no apology. I never got a call back from the a different sports director about a refund.but after 3 weeks of trying to get ahold of someone I got a phone call saying it had been refunded to an account that had been closed for over a month! Was told they would fix it.weeks later I am still waiting on someone to contact me about my refund. I was even told to call a different YMCA to handle the refund? !? ! My family and I will never go here again nor would we ever recommend it since they’re so unprofessional in the children’s sports department!

I would love to give it 5 stars.the staff was awesome.the fields are large and plenty of them and plenty of parking. What they lack is a normal size gym.the gym was soooo small.they have so much space on the property that is not being utilized maybe consider a larger gym. I am only critical of this because that is the reason I go to the YMCA at Potranco.but I dont want this to overshadow that the soccer and baseball fields were awesome! I walked around all of them.very well maintained!

After beginning there for almost 3years now I can say the childcare has been excellent, the sports programs/coaches have been great, and I love the workout classes they provide. They don’t have Pool, but that’s not a problem for us since we have our own pool. I enjoy the size of this gym and the community there.

We have been at the Mays Family YMCA almost since it opened and have always found the staff friendly and helpful, the equipment well maintained and the class instructors probably some of the best in the city. In exploring downsizing and moving this last year, the Y was one of our many considerations in staying in the area. We did.

This is such a great facility for our entire family, and we have six kids. The baby goes to the childcare, my younger kids can play basketball and my slightly older kids (age 7-11) are able to use a few of the pieces on the weight floor. We all love going together and it’s a great motivator for me to workout as often as I can when my kids also enjoy it and beg me to go! I plan to try the group classes and even Pilates soon. I love that there are so many options. We also love that we can use any of the YMCA’s in the area when we find ourselves in a different place throughout the week. It makes consistency that much easier. Would highly recommend.

The Mays YMCA is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our daughter loves to come to the Y with us and has attended the summer camp all summer 2018. She has enjoyed her camp and loves all the staff. I have had no comppaints with any of the staff, the facilities, or programs. Thanks everyone associated with the Mays Family YMCA

Mays Ymca sports program is amazing. We've been with them since spring of 2016 and love them. The coach's are parent volunteers but with sports knowledge and experience. Our soccer coach played for UTSA men's soccer in his college days.
We love the atmosphere and team building and my son has built friendships that are still going strong! You can't beat the cost either, i highly recommend Mays Ymca!

We enjoy the activities through the Mays Y. The kids sports are always well organized and managed.

I've been participating with the Mays Family YMCA as a parent and a volunteer for almost 4 years. The staff is great, the programs affordable, and the environment supportive!

We absolutely love the U6 soccer team for our son, and will be registering him for the spring season!

The staff and leadership of the Mays YMCA work extremely hard to put together programs which engage and empower families across all socio-economic statuses. They are always open to input and willing to think creatively. I applaud what they consistently bring together.
