McAlister's Deli, San Marcos TX

I went with 10 others after the movie that started at 5: 15 pm. I had only pop corn at the movie all day. I ordered ham melt with potato salad. I went to bed at 9. At 1: 30 am vomiting. It probably wasn't the food but a virus. But I stay in my apartment and have groceries delivered.

We had the pick 2 and were really satisfied with the quality and portions! Would definitely come back!

Great food. Excellent burgers. The Brussels Spouts were remarkable. Way noisy. Deafening music.so not much of a place for chit-chat. My group had a sense we were under surveillance and, probably so, given we look like normal Texas people. We lingered more than a half an hour and could tell we overstayed our welcome. Small businesses are under a lot of pressure these days but that's not an excuse to be less than a gracious host. Attitude is everything.

We game in to get a quick bite before game 3 of the World Series. 45 minutes later we are begging for our sandwiches so as not to miss first pitch. The counter staff was embarrassed but helpless. I actually watched them make my sandwich a good 15 minute process. 2 people were in the restaurant but they were telling customers it was a 30 minute wait. And …. We missed first pitch

I ordered a 6 inch Memphian sandwich with a bag of chips. After waiting 20 minutes, the cashier told me that we would "probably have to wait longer. " There was nobody else there, just people that were before me waiting for sandwiches to be made. I don't know why there was 0 sense of urgency in that kitchen. I saw 3 guys "working" back there, just walking around slowly. I asked for a refund because I can't just wait for an hour for a sandwich to be made

They never made my delivery order. They pretended they did because i ordered 30 minutes before close and when the driver got there the doors were locked and they never answered. Why take the order then? And have a driver drive all the way over there and someone wait for food that’s never coming. Jerks

Unless you go in person, you're guaranteed to have issues with your order. I've even gone in to order and had issues. Delivery never has drinks even though they charge me for them. In person and delivery I've never received a pickle even though they are requested. Food is made incorrectly. Mac and cheese was complete mush and had maybe 3 spoonfuls in the cup this past time. Can't seem to add a bread bowl no matter how you order delivery (on their site or door dash) Never had so many issues with a McAllister's before.

Had the French dip with potato salad and it was really good. Good service as well. Awesome place to eat. I do wish they still had the big nasty sandwich but the French dip is excellent

McAlister's is very good. I love their food however, they used to give pickles with each sandwich you ordered but now you have to request a pickle. It's still free if charge but I often forget to request the pickle.

Their chili is delicious. The tea is very good and they have peach and different flavors of tea. I like that they change their menu slightly from time to time. It keeps me interested in what may be available on any given day I feel like eating McAlister's.

This is the second time ive ordered the same sandwich (which I usually love) and asked for no avocado & chips. Both times my order was loaded with avocado and the chips missing: (

We have eaten at this place a few times and have always had a good experience. On this visit, the service has gone way downhill. I had ordered a salad and a kids meal pretzel bites. The pretzel bites was supposed to come with dipping sauce, which they never asked what kind I wanted. I asked for a Diet Lemonade with blackberries. They gave me a Diet Tea. When I inquired if the Lemonade was just mislabeled the girl who was working the register had the gall to tell me "yes". It still was wrong. She then asked if I wanted it remade. I ordered a Diet Lemonade. If I wanted a Diet Tea, I would have said Tea. We go sit down. The store had at least 3 other tables already seated. It took over 30 minutes for a salad and a kids meal. I am really not sure what the hold up was.

The Pretzel bites were ice cold. I did not dare go back up and let them know for fear it would take another 30 minutes just to correct it and after the Lemonade fiasco, you can tell customer service was not their top priority. We ate our meal and did not see a table being bussed at all. They left dirty dishes on the tables and never made an effort to come around to pick things up.

Sorry McAlister's Deli, You used to be really good. I am not sure if the folks you have on staff just do not want to work, or it is just the quality of employees you have on staff.

I love this deli so much! McAlister’s Can do no wrong! The food is absolutely delicious! I have had almost every salad, side, dessert and sandwich on the menu and every last meal I tried was memorable.

I love the sweet tea. Lately I have been getting a sprite with peach syrup.

I frequent this place so much I had to download the app.

This place feels like love and happiness. I got so excited when I picked up my food that I forgot to take a picture.

I highly recommend!

Every time I come in I order the Jalapeño Turkey Crunch with a side of broccoli cheddar soup and every time it tastes better than the last! The staff is friendly and the kitchen is very quick to get the food out! Overall great atmosphere and amazing food! Also, the sweet tea is the best in town!

I had high hopes for McAlister's. The pictures of their food made my mouth water! So we ordered at the counter, found a seat and waited.
And waited.
And waited.

They didn't seem busy and certainly didn't exhibit a sense of urgency.
After an hour, they brought out our (cold) soup and chili. Half an hour after that, they brought out our sandwiches. And still for the order wrong! The sandwiches were good, but it's questionable that it was worth the wait. I'll try ordering on line next time. I can't recommend this place because of the terrible service.

It took over 30 minutes for them to make our food. Do not go here. Not worth the wait at all, very understaffed and lack of management

Everyone always complains about the price here but if you broke just say that. This place never lets me down. That peach tea buss every time. 10/10 always

Most adult meals are are around $10 give or take. Sometimes very busy with wait times at peak hours.
But otherwise very nice and quick in thier service.
Though if you want a large amount of sandwiches 10+ it is best to do thier catering. Requires advance notice but it means your food will be ready just when you need it.

I ordered a you pick 2, ceaser salad and veggie chili, I did not receive any dressing. Thanks, you guys ruined my mother's day

The Food is Amazing as Always!
Customer Service is horrible.
I was just here getting lunch and there are 2 young girls working. One is at the counter and the other one bringing the food to the table. Both of them seem like they don't want to be there. No emotion or smile. The one at the counter had no Customer service. I walked up and she rolled her eyes and had an attitude the whole time I was placing my order. The girl bringing the food to the table didn't ask if I needed anything else and when grabbing the number out of the stand she slammed the stand on the table and the stand was shaking back and forth so I grabbed It so it wouldn't fall. Usually they have an Amazing team but today thoes 2 were not friendly at all.

All of our food was great and I love the option to order at the table with the app. Service was extremely fast. I wish there was a location closer to us
