Med-Equip reviews
8They don't take insurance. I've tried twice and nope they don't. I went in once and the lady was rude, told me they don't take insurance wanted me to pay cash. I said no that my insurance would cover it, as I was walking out she said she could try and send it through my insurance, and if it went through they would give me back my money. Either they take insurance or it's a scam to get your money.
Each time I have needed medical supplies they have exactly what I need and with great prices. The customer service is ideal and I have been always treated with respect.
They are so expensive! We went there last Friday about 4pm to get my son a brace for his sprained wrist. The lady working there fitted one for him and told us that was the right size for him. We got home and the blood circulation was constricted on his hand, since it was the end of day and they close at 5 we couldn’t go back till Monday morning. We paid $45 for the brace. They would not replace or return it.
We found the same exact brace on Amazon for $15 on prime. We had the same issue before with the nebulizer masks we used to get from them. I can get 6 masks on Amazon for $6, they sell them there for $13+ for ONE single mask!
They rip off people big time, They don’t even except most insurance policies.
We will not go back to this place, definitely would not recommend them.
GREAT SERVICE AND FRIENDLY STAFF. The delivery driver who would bring my Mother's oxygen tanks was always courteous and helpful. Will definitely use them again and have recommended them to friends and other family memebers.
Best DME in Waco. They're staff is very caring, helpful and professional. I highly recommend them
Great experience! I needed formula, feeding bags, and DME after a family member suffered a stroke. The staff was friendly and quick to provide assistance. Would recommend to anyone
The following is based on my personal experiences and subsequent opinions based on such.
Although I have ordered products from this business in the past, they had no record of such. Since I did not initially have the product box, I described what I wanted. The person who measured me indicated that the product line changed with new boxes.
I received a phone call stating that the product was received. I attempted to use the product, but it was defective. When I returned the product to Med Equip, they reportedly returned the defective item to the manufacturer and received a replacement.
Today, I received a call from my insurance company asking if I had any issues. I informed the agent about my misadventures with Med Equip. The insurance agent stated that Med Equip finally got the insurance coding/paperwork completed and I could go pick them up.
When I entered Med Equip today, I told them I was here to pick up my hose. They asked if anyone called me. I said, "yes, around two weeks ago. " Med Equip denied this happened. So, I offered to bring a copy of my phone record to show them. I later discovered that this employee, the one who called me, was no longer working there.
Med Equip attempted to say my behavior was confrontational; however, when pressed for a description of my confrontational behavior, they could not describe anything untoward. Furthermore, the insurance agent who attempted to guide them through this process was also greeted with their oppositional behavior. I asked that the agent put her observations into my record for future reference.
Throughout this entire experience, I have encountered passive aggressive and uncooperative behavior by this business.
In summary, this consumer followed the necessary guidelines for obtaining durable medical supplies: a) getting a prescription from a physician; b) getting measured; c) having the insurance walk Med Equip through the process of submitting the proper paperwork after previous failed attempts.
My recommendation? Find another place!
