I did the online courses through Medical Coding Academy and couldn’t be more pleased. This was a late in life (turning 60 this year) decision to take the course. I passed my CPC exam on the first attempt. I had previously started a different course and quickly lost interest and couldn’t get motivated to continue. Then I came across all the excellent reviews for MCA. I was skeptical at first but once I received all my books and materials, I realized this is the real deal. I actually wanted to turn on the videos and work in the case workbook daily. The staff is very responsive to any questions. Mrs. Ortega is such an excellent teacher. While taking my exam, I could hear her voice in my head, reminding me of all the guidelines and rules. If you’re on the fence about taking the course, just do it. You won’t be sorry.

How awesome! Ms Ortega is such a genius. By doing everything she said I was able to pass this test the first time. Ms Belen and the entire staff at Medical Coding Academy were very prompt in answering all my questions. I look forward to adding this skill to resume.

I have been a Registered Nurse since 2007 and had been looking for a career shift. I found myself looking through You Tube when I came across Ms. Ortega's video for Medical Coding Academy. She was so transparent about what this course would require and how long it would take. I was over the moon when I signed up and dove in head first. The videos were so detailed and well made that I truly did feel like she was right there with me. I would have a question in my head and in her very next breath in the video she would answer it! She explained the content flawlessly. You can tell that Ms. Ortega has poured herself into this Academy. All of the material is very engaging and well made. The tabbing system is perfection! I can tell you from personal experience now that system was a huge help when I was in my exam. Throughout my exam that day I could hear Ms. Ortega's voice saying "Keep it moving! " Ms. Ortega and God got me through that test and I'm so happy to say I passed on the first try! Thank you Medical Coding Academy and Ms. Ortega for making my dream become a reality!

So, I started on this journey two months ago. I had been searching for a school or someone to help me with getting ready for the CPC certification, because after watching a bunch of videos on YouTube I was more confused than when I had started.
I watched one of Mrs. Ortega’s videos and I thank God I did. I took the online all-inclusive package, and I can tell you, Mrs. Ortega is really God sent. When she said a prayer at the very beginning of the course, I knew I was with the right teacher.
And now I am happy to announce that after ONLY two months into the program, I passed! I am now a CPC-A thanks to God, to Mrs. Ortega and her team who have all been supportive.
Mrs. Ortiz always gave me a nudge from time to time. Telling me to keep pushing even though I had to work my 9-5 and attend my wifely duties.
With Medical Coding Academy you can do it! DO WHAT THIS WOMAN SAYS, and you will be fine.

After several years of being interested in medical coding I took the plunge. I am so glad I chose Medical Coding Academy to study for my CPC online. Mrs. Ortega has organized everything perfectly and just do everything she says. Her instructions are crystal clear and she shows how she truly cares for her students. I work full time with a bit of a commute back and forth to work and had to be a caretaker after my husband's major surgery. I was still able to finish in 4 months and pass the exam on my first try. Thank you Mrs. Ortega and Staff!

$60 for this tabbing system. Can you believe it? Only 5 sheets of light cardboard with tabs! Three of those sheets are double-sided. This was an absolute rip-off. Who does Ortega think she is charging people this much? My review might change, and I'll add a star to this review, if I'm able to use the instructions for future code books. I'll just buy the tabs for a much cheaper price. But as of right now, I've never paid this much for 5 sheets of cardboard and neither should you.

I am truly blessed and thankful to have found MCA one day while I was searching for the right school to become a Certified Medical Coder. God put this in my heart. Fast forward to 2 months, I completed the online coding course and passed my CPC exam! I’m excited to what the future holds for me in this new career.
Mrs. Ortega is very humble, kind hearted, and explains the topics very thorough. Most importantly, she’s also our sister in Christ! The whole staff is amazing and super helpful, too, and you won’t find this anywhere else.

I am a full time working mom raising a three year old and I can not imagine taking this course anywhere else. The staff immediately emailed back answering any and all questions and the way Ms. Ortega teaches is real and so knowledgeable. The things she has taught me will be applied for the rest of my life. I took the Medical Coding Academy 3 Day Boot Camp in Atlanta recently. Very intense but also so extensive! Learned how to use your tools to pass the AAPC CPC exam. It worked! I passed on my first attempt. I highly recommend this program of study.

First off Mrs. Ortega is the way to go! She's so awesome and an amazing teacher! She teaches you everything you need to know. I go to take my coding test today && I feel super confident about it and I know I'm going to pass! If you're second guessing on whether to take the Medical Coding course through Medical Coding Academy don't think any longer! Take those thoughts out of your head and get on it while you can! You will not regret it. Thank you Mrs. Ortega for everything and may God continue to bless you because you for sure blessed me! Forgot to update but I PASSED on the FIRST TRY!

She is a gift to the teaching of coding. I was amazed by her skill set. She breaks it down for you in ways you never thought was possible. I left other coding Facebook groups so I wouldn't get confused. I have looked into coding for a couple years now. I searched "coding bootcamp" and Ms. Ortega came up. I was skeptical at first, thinking there is no way. But a part of me was saying do it. Maybe it was my higher power telling me to finally jump and commit. I truly believed she would show me the way. She did! If you have question whether you should take this class or not, please I hope my review will make you jump! I went to the bootcamp in ATL. I won't lie I didn't sleep for 3 days. We were in class for 11 hours and had hours of homework, but it was beyond worth it. She keeps you awake and focused the entire time. Thank you, Ms. Ortega.

I attended the 3 day course in Atlanta on March 31-April 2 of 2023. The class was excellent and well attended. Many people there were already coding but needing to take CPC test. Also, new people to coding and others such as RN’s and others in the medical field attended. Her teaching style is awesome and her strategies for test taking are very helpful. I learned a lot and could follow along well even though I am brand new to this field. She made sure everyone was on the same page and understood what she was teaching. I am now using Mrs. Ortega’s Study Guide and Exam Prep. I feel everything I have done and will do within the next two weeks will assure me to pass my test. This class will be the best thing you can invest in to prepare for the test and the real world as well as a medical coder. Her staff that helped us get our books and materials before the class were awesome and helpful. It was a wonderful stress free experience for me. I look forward to my next online out patient coding class that I plan to take after passing this test in two weeks. Thank you so much Mrs. Ortega and staff that work behind the scene!
