Medusa Skates, Austin TX

No one was outright rude. It became very clear they were uninterested in helping a beginner skater however. I explained I was new and needed help deciding what to get. The employee helping me brought out skates but didn’t really talk to me or ask questions—I don’t really know what questions I should be asking. That’s why I came to a skate store. I’m so disappointed. Was pretty excited this shop was woman owned but the energy was so male in that I felt like if I didn’t know enough, I couldn’t sit with them. Didn’t leave with anymore knowledge than when I went in.

A friend who lives in New Orleans reccomended this shop. She said it
is where everyone in New Orleans orders from.
I ordered from Medusa in NY and was really pleased with the shipping.
I recently visited Austin and was so excited to visit the shop in person. The shop had so many skates and sizes in stock. The shop had a great selection of really cute accessories.
The staff was super helpful and friendly. I have never experienced that in NY. I will definitely continue to order from this skate shop. Austin is lucky to have such a great skate shop for all types of skaters.

I just love this shop.

The employees there helped me choose a pair of skates I needed to get back into roller derby and walk out of the shop that day with a pair. They helped me choose a good fit with a good plate and even let me change out wheels.

I've also ordered twice from their website. Each time only taking two days to get from Austin to Killeen (an hour away) via USPS.

I totally recommend Medusa Skates for all your quad needs.

Picked up skates for myself and the kids and had a fantastic experience. Quality skates and great service. Highly recommend going to the shop to buy in person rather than online.

What a great shop and great owner! I stopped by for help with some skates I've owned for years but have been unable to use due to one foot tracking off center. The owner listened, suggested a fix and answered all my beginner questions. The fix worked great, although she cautioned that these antique skates might still have issues. If they do, I'll be shopping at Medusa Skates for a new pair.

Hello, first of all I would like to know if you serve people who speak Spanish who still do not know how to speak English well and on the other hand I would like to know if you could guide me on what to buy and how to use the equipment since it is my first time trying to learn this discipline.

Ordered from their website, and I did not receive shipping information at first, I was worried my order didn't go in. So I emailed them and I got a response the same day, they were very clear about what was going on and were apologetic about they delay. The shipping delay was because of UPS with their own delays because of COVID and the holidays. The customer service is out of this world, they are so helpful. I felt so bad how many times I emailed them. I even needed to change my old review and they tried to help me with that as well. Once my order came in their packaging was super cute, and little goodies included. 10/10 recommend.

I was looking online for a decent pair of skates. Ones for a kinda newbie, but better quality than from a big box sports shop (if I hurt myself I want it to be operator error and not faulty equipment) Found these guys had a good selection and pricing, bonus they're local:) So yeah, got decent skates and could get advice about the hobby, the staff were friendly and helpful.

New skaters be aware, if you want a decent pair of skates you're not going to find them for under $100-$150 minimum from anywhere. If you find cheaper skates, buy with caution. They will probably fall apart.the boot might fold into wheels etc. Be safe out there.

Although I've only had the pleasure of doing business with these folks online, it has always been more then exceptional! Great customer service, fast response time, and always friendly. Can not recommend them enough.

Amazing customer service! Placed an order online and they were more than willing to help me when I thought I ordered the wrong size. We cancelled the order and placed a new one the next day as I was ordering the skates as a gift and wanted to ensure they would fit! Amazing response time and dedication was evident! 15/10 - this will probably be my home skate shop from now on!

This place was amazing! They have a large selection of high end skates and all kinds of accessories. It's definitely Derby focused, but they did have other types of skates as well. Both of the attendants played Derby and were super knowledgeable about everything from boots to wheels to kingpin angles. The location is small, so you can't actually skate around inside when you're trying things on, but still a very satisfactory experience. I will definitely be visiting them for all my skating needs.

Ordered online, it shipped so quick! Got my order in 2 days in Minnesota.
My package even included some cute stickers, candy and everything was wrapped in colorful paper - it made me so happy! Thanks gals!

Ordered online during the great rollerskates drought of 2020. Was able to get the skates I wanted without being charged double (that's all I could find previously). I contacted them to make sure their expected restock was still when they said and they responded super fast. I got them shipped as soon as they got them and I'm super pleased. I havent tried skating in maybe 25 years. I'm nervous but their bitchin little note and goody bag made me feel good! Give this women ran business some of your business! You won't regret it! When I tell you all this place got what you need when it comes to skates. I drove all an hour just to get there. The staff is amazing. I was having issues with skating indoors, come to find out, I busted my ball bearings.i didnt even know, i just knew my wheels were loose. My skates ride soooo smooth now.thank yall so much.if I could give you 6 stars I would.

I visited 9/5/2020. Be aware they aren't letting people inside, but they are coming in and out to assist everyone that comes by. Super helpful, knowledgeable, super nice and awesome. AND GREAT SELECTION!
