Memorial Towers Apartments reviews
8 A true slumlord experience. We’ve been renting at Memorial Towers since January and have had a slew of unfortunate events.
AC is old and unable to keep up with the demand during the summer. We were out of AC for 2.5 weeks in July and now going on 4 days in August. Thermostat read at 82 this afternoon.
An unleashed dog charged at my 17 month old son.
Hefty cockroach infestation. They “spray” every once in a while, doesn’t get rid of them.
Hot water stopped working in bathroom.
When they get a neighboring apartment ready paint fumes will permeate your unit.
Seen tenants with guns, not being concealed.
There was a domestic violence incident where a women shot a man. No communication about the incident, other than letting us know it happened.
Common area carpets are urine soaked and it’s common to find dog feces.
We were told the fitness center and pool would be fixed by summer, now it’s permanently closed.
After some research into other Barvin properties this is a common occurrence. Save yourself the trouble and look somewhere else.
We really enjoy living at Memorial Towers. Karina the manager has been very helpful and is always there to assist when needed. She has a heart to help. The Maintenance team there is the best I have had at any apartment complex. JD and Jeff are great at fixing things and going above and beyond their job requirements to be helpful.
Pool/gym has been closed for at least 3 months
3 months later and pool/gym is still closed due to the "city". How about you fix your violations?
Pool is still closed/empty in July.
AC can not cool an apartment below 78º during a heat wave.
If I could give a 7 star, I would. I moved in from a different state and Karina made my move so seamless, this is one apartment complex that’s very responsive, I couldn’t be more pleased. Too many pluses to touch on. If you’re thinking of calling Memorial Tower Apartments Home, go right ahead and do it!
I’ve had great experiences and stay at Memorial Towers. I am only leaving for military duty. The property manager Ms. Karina goes the extra mile to make sure tenants are satisfied, and that all their concerns are handled. Truly, you do not find many property managers like her. Maintenance is more than enough at this property. JD, and Jeff truly works none stop to make sure the property is more than up to par. I can’t forget their companion Ms. Yolanda who has the building smelling like a field of roses. Great location and very affordable. Would def move back if the chance presented itself.
Very unprofessional staff. I had confirmed 3x of my appointment this morning and upon arrival there was no staff onsite. When called I was told someone would reach out. Waste of time.
Based off the reviews I should have kept it pushin but I thought let me give them the benefit of the doubt so I called to inquire about leasing here and the lady I believe named Simone was rude for no reason, its not even 9am in the morning and she’s already had a attitude just for asking simple questions about the unit, a few points of advice perfect your communication skills as you are in the line of work were sometimes its ok to listen to see what the person is asking before responding robotically bc you may hate your job, which bring me to my next point get a different job if you just started your shift and you already have attitude or take a self care day so you dont affect the businesses.
UPDATE- I've been a resident at Memorial Towers for 4 years and have watched deferred maintenance accumulate. We haven't had any amenities since October 2021, but the rent went up. There seems to be no urgency whatsoever to get the building up to speed. Management blames the city, but considering the time, Barvin is likely just taking the money to their own bottom line. The pool looks like a toilet. One star is too many.
