NO WATER! NO WATER! NO WATER!
BEWARE!
They lie in your face! Unapologetic, unethical and rude. I don't how many dozens of times thy have shut off the water for the day since the beginning of the year.
Sometimes they email within seconds of shutting the water off sometimes not at all. Living here is a nightmare and they absolutely do not care about their tenants. You will feel hated and neglected here for sure. This property is the worse!

I have another review I can't find to update right now.

I have not had reliable access to hot water since November 2022. When I complain, I'm threatened and told they are documenting my "disrespect". Disrespect is apparently defined by asking to have things fixed and knowing I have rights. I was told by someone in the office that they weren't able to fix the hot water because the owners don't pay their bills.

Exterior lights on my building have also been out since November 2022. I finally placed my own motion activated light made for a closet outside my and my neighbor's door so that we feel safe coming up our stairwell at night.

Most communications we receive from management are threatening us with fines and "lease violations". I was recently threatened because they claimed to have proof I was placing diapers in the doggy stations that nobody uses - I don't have a baby or a dog.

They recently revamped their website saying we have all these fancy amenities. I can assure you none of that exists. What resort style pool? Where? Our regular old pool has been out of service for at least two years.

The one positive is that they finally did something about the cockroaches. I guess that warrants the one star I had to give.

Been here since September 2022. Since I moved in there's been problems. One it's roach infested, had no smoke alarms when I moved in, AC wasn't working it took them 2 1/2 months to fix. Water always being cut off do to water leaks that they have been trying to fix for months. Kitchen has one electrical outlet and you can only use one appliance at a time. I can't wait until my lease is up

Updated 3/14/23 my building has not had reliable hot water for five months. It's been off more than on in that time. Management is unapologetic and unsympathetic to their tenants on all issues including this one. One of them did let slip that the real issue is that the owners don't pay their bills.

If you've checked out their website lately, it's a good laugh. They list multiple amenities that DO NOT exist: there's no dog park, the pool hasn't been functional in years, this is not an "ultra walkable" neighborhood, and those photos were not taken anywhere near this place.

Move anywhere but here.

To be fair, the complex has some issues that existed before new management. The buildings are old so plumbing problems come up a lot. New management (Rockwood Property Management) has not offered consistent communication about water outages. We were recently without predictable access to water for 7 days and when we did have water during that time period, the pressure was so low a boil order should've been issued.

The buildings have a terrible German cockroach infestation and although we are charged a monthly pest control fee, there is no program for treating the issue. I will not be able to take a lot of my furniture with me when I move because of the severity of the infestation.

The old management company made the issues here bearable with professionalism and good communication. Rockwood (Merida) employees have generally been unresponsive or rude. I had to call their corporate office in New Jersey to get an issue with my lease resolved because no one here would respond to me. Too often, utility charges are not added to the rent portal until after rent is due and then they send notices threatening legal action. They will also send nasty notes about packages that are left at the office (I work long hours and can't always make it back home while they're open).

Overall, while I like my neighbors and the layout of my apartment, I would not recommend moving to Merida or any other Rockwood managed property.

Old review:
My move in was a little rough but, they got me in fast and they have been GREAT about my maintenance requests which have been many but, mostly relatively minor, in the short time I’ve been here. Many were done the same day that I requested them.

THEY ARE THE WORST!
Do not trust them!
The positive reviews are paid by the property and not true.

DAILY WATER SHUT OFFS!

The reality is that this property it's bankrupt and in terrible financial situation.
They do not have a penny to invest on this property or do any repairs.

Absolutely not family friendly. It's scary at night! There used to be a security service patrolling at night, but they got rid of that too because they cannot afford it anymore. No one cleans the property and there's garbage everywhere. Furniture left behind by the dumpsters that stay there for weeks at a time until they rot.

It is incredible the way they lie to people to get them to move in.
I can't wait until our lease is up to move out. This property doesn't even deserve one star for dishonest.
Don't make the same mistake we did. Don't move here.

Moved out in May and still have yet to receive my $400 deposit. Apartments are also trying to charge me an $80 cleaning fee when I literally left the place spotless, carpets cleaned like new. I’ve called over 100 times about my deposit and even the manager gives me the run around!

I've experienced so many terrible situations and conditions here. First of last year, they towed my Significant' other car because it was "not a parking spot", but was told otherwise to park there without no issues while they were closed on Sunday, but did not disclose any further information. Ended up paying 230$ out of my pocket, and denied my dispute and did not disclose any further information.
Secondly, our A/C went out since 12/7/2022 and DID NOT came to fix the A/C that is no longer functioning, and it is now 12/13/2022 AFTER sending over 5 requests, and phone calls but went to voicemail, and did not follow up with a callback.yet they ALWAYS managed to send letters of "notice of vacancy" at my door when I am at work to remind us of the rent. This Management and Environment is way beyond toxic, and depressing. I am unable to sleep properly due to the weather conditions.but I highly doubt that Management and Maintenance does not care at all.it seems like they only care is about the pay grade and it makes me sick and upset by their actions. My question is, how further long am I going to have to wait have no response or action of the A/C issue? I've already reported to Corporate because I'm out of options and I had no choice.

Black mold! Beware!
The newly renovated units showcase broken AC black Mold everywhere behind the walls, rusted inside appliances, no smoke alarms, no security in the windows, they spray paint over the entire apartment to make it appear clean but that paint quickly chips and you are left with the filthy apartment someone else's left behind. Smoked in units.

The toilet and the bathtub in my bathroom were hand pained white!
There is always garbage everywhere, sofas, chairs, all that kind of stuff on display I don't know why they don't take it away.
Management is terrible in this property.

The laundry room! OMG! It's so filthy!
The pool has been closed and dark muddy nasty looking for years.
The mail boxes are all destroyed and some doors are on the side on the floor! The small area where they are is just so filthy! There is a broken and glass cracked vending machine there that CocaCola would die if they saw it! And everything is filthy, filthy, disgusting.

Whenever someone from the mail office is touring new "victims" in those golf cars they have they try to avoid eye contact with you because they are afraid you'll bust them in front of the potential new tenant.
Don't move in there you'll regret it!

Placed a work order for my sink and it was done very quickly. They noticed my front door handle was not aligned and fixed it without me even asking or making a separate work order. It saved me alot of fidgeting with my key.

The other positive reviews are funny must be staff or friends/family of staff. Since I really live here and can't wait till my lease is up to leave.let me tell you the honest truth, trash every were, thrown out old furniture, large contractors dumpster full and flowing over, homeless digging in it every night and morning. That's just the last month or so. Office staff well I called to see about my leak in my apartment they all acted like it didn't happen and they knew nothing about it. The maintenance was just working in my apartment and each time I call about it same old game. We have nothing on file. Pool is still closed not that I would get in it if I was open. People abandoned there animals here and management doesn't care even after you report it. Our first year here was great but when they changed ownership all down hill now.

New office staff is top notch. In the last two years havent had much help with anything but the young lady in front was very helpful and courteous. The old management let the place run down but new people really seem to care about us. Slowly but surely fixing all these plumbing issues that we used to have with old company. Even fixing our potholes.

Awesome customer service, ever since they replaced old staff. I forget the new woman in front Jennifer i think, she especially was very helpful and reassuring with finally getting our work orders put in. Daniel the mainenance guy is awesome too. Old management was aweful, the new people seem to really be on top of things.

They fired the only good maintenance.

The staff in the office are wonderful and get back to you. Jennifer has been wonderful.
He complaint that I have is 3 weeks ago m ceiling was leaking, maintenance came out, drilled 20 holes in my ceiling to fix it. A week later it leaked again. Maintenance never came out to clean up my flooded floor. A week after that my floor in my bathroom was flooded, no one came out to look at it or shop vac the water. I have called the hotline three times and only received a return phone call once, an hour afterwards. This morning my ceiling was leaking water again and this time it smelled like sewer water.

I toured at Merida last week with Priya, she was super super nice and welcoming to me and my husband. We loved the apartment and will be applying today.

Love the floor plans. Community all around is very peaceful.the roads need a little touch up but I always love pulling into my apt because it's beautiful. The staff are awesome, I havent had a problem with them yet like the last crew and the new maintenance is cute; another sight for sore eyes while driving in lol. They do have a lot of fun activities for you, the kids and/or the whole family and if you refer someone; they hook you up so jump on it cause we're now leasing

Great customer service! You can tell this location is well organized and communication is on point! We actually were about to move in to some other apartments which happen to be one of their sister locations, but unfortunately was not to par. However since moment I called Merida apartments, they were kind, patient, communicative with everything and honest. The unit mentioned on phone that was available was indeed available as they stated and up to par. They were quick with my application and had no issues or trouble with their services. Totally recommend these apartments!

Some of the worst apartments in the area, they have a huge roach problem. Parking lot is unsecured even though they have a gate. My car has been broken into and tires slashed even though we don't mess with anybody. There have been three shootings in the past 5 years living here, 1 resulted in a death, 2 other ones survived. Owners have the audacity to upcharge $200 in one year, even though they haven't remodeled anything. The worst part of it all is that they're marketing it as a higher end apartment complex, which it clearly is not. Please take a drive through to see what this place really is, cheaply done, old and unreliable, with owners who are only out for a quick cash grab.

Read reviews before moving here! In the summer time it seems like this place really falls apart.even with the air set at 70 it still remains at around 76-77 until the sun goes down.then sometimes your ac unit just stops working all together and they are never in any hurry to fix anything.currently the water was been shut off everyday for the last 5 days after we were promised it would be fixed by the end of the day friday.it’s now wednesday.and especially as a female, I NEED WATER.don’t even get me started on the staff in the front office.they are rude and only care that they’re there for money they couldn’t care less about the people they’re actually there to help.

No stars! Water bill is 200 a month it's allocated, at my previous place it was 50 a month. The office staff has changed 3 times in a month, no one knows what is going on. Maintenance man the best one has left and the rude aggressive one has returned, he only speaks spanish. So you want talk to him about any issues in your apartment. As soon as my lease is up I am moving. Be warned!
