Honestly this company was a great company in the beginning but like all company's it's money money money! Does not take care of the drivers and they push you to be a owner your own truck but be very aware and think about it because your going to marriage to this company with a prenup with you only losing EVERYTHING. Some story are GOOD some are BAD do your homework and ask other drivers that work for that company now. And ask a few people in end you'll make your own conclusion

During this COVID 19 crisis many smaller carriers and owner operators are struggling and with rates being driven down by large carriers being awarded freight through large brokers. Its a recipe for disaster for small carriers and owner ops. One hand its brilliant, large carriers driving rates down to unsustainable levels hauling the load themselves through brokers. They have the ability to withstand the short term drop. 90% of the small carriers and owner ops do not. So 2 fold they move their equipment at a slight loss, and at the same time drive competition (well small carriers and O/O) out of business. In the end they have the capacity and the customers/brokers have no option but the pay much higher rates to the large carriers. I am on the small carrier side, run my business efficiently I just hope I can hang on. But all said and done I love capitalism. I guess my statement is there is a fine line between profit and ethics.

So, I was told by recruiter Robert Rebulcaba if I drive from Dallas, Texas to El Paso, Texas for orientation I would be reimbursed for that, did I? No! Finished class, was on hold because past employees couldn't verify, covid 19 has offices closed. They didn't hire me, stranded in EPT! They are not paying for my way back like they said on letter either. Overall it was a horrible experience. Even the staff were making bad comments how recruiting was dropping the ball.

For the past couple of months I have been working with MVT. Ashley Oliver, Nicole Grove, and Kenneth Parks working the Northeast have been an A+ team above and beyond. I have been so grateful to them and the CSR team for updates lead by Laura! The same goes with Joe with the West Coast team and Dominique working with my Texas stuff. I feel when I call them I feel like a family member. Could not recommend a better carrier company than Mesilla Valley Transportation.

Worse company ever! I'm only using it as a transition, I'm quitting soon. They want you to follow a texted route sent to eld thats not synced to their gps, yet reading it while driving isnt possible and dangerous. I found a shorter route they fined me. The 34 reset is a joke. You will not have a personal life as a driver here. Most companies give you 2 days (48 hours) they dispatch and start calling you around the 30th hour. Be prepared to drive off the dot regulated time because they'll schedule you pick ups that are mandatory appointment times for after your clock is run out. Also if you run a 300 or 301 route they say you aren't allowed to take home time only a 34. This company isn't worth it it if you want a company to call home.

I have been fortunate to have done a lot in my time. I can honestly say that I love working here. Managing the Training Department have opened my eyes to a whole lifestyle that many take take for granted. I appreciate every driver that comes through here and I make sure they know it before they roll on their 1st trip. If it wasn't for them we would not have what we need. Thank you for the opportunity as it is greatly appreciated.

I miss working here. I drove for them for couple months doing dedicated run from El Paso, Dallas, Denver, and New Mexico. Home every Wednesday for my 34 reset. I enjoy my time here. Unfortunately I have an issue with the Busch Budweiser Distribution in Denver. I had an argument with shipper receiver. MVT kick me out on that dedicated run. Didn’t want to go back over the road so I left the company. There is no good feeling to be home every week with family. If your looking for dedicated run, check out this company. They will run you hard and you get pretty decent pay every Friday. I wish I could calm myself and handle my situation better but I learn from my mistake and move on. Definitely good place to drive truck if you looking for dedicated run.

Well let me tell you my experience I had with MVT! I guess I'm gonna have to start with Leticia Jaquez head of training department. When they 1st tried to recruit you they offer you 16 cents per mile then it's 19 cents per mile then it's 20 cents per mile which is true but once you complete your training and you want to start rolling as a team they will not pay you or plan to pay you 24 cents per mile to each driver in a team, Although when you head down gateway East exit horizon there is a Billboard that says Mesilla Valley Transportation offers 56 cents split p/team. So to me that is false advertisement. Now my despatch manager William Gomes is another issue that I had with MVT I always thought this man was a stand up guy and a team player but I was wrong. It's sad to say that as a despatch manager he would always drop the ball as far as providing you with a pick up number or a trailer number you would always have to call him back to retrieve that information from him and that's not the way business should be done. To Finalize this bad experience with MVT the day I had to do my driving test after completing my 60000 miles of training it had to take up to 2 weeks and a 1/2 for MVT to contact me though another driver if I was still intrested in rolling out with him and to me that's unprofessional because it was obvious that William Gomes did not worry or bother in contacting me or finding me a quick replacement team driver since he got promoted to a different department that just shows me I wasn't a priority to him! Mr. Royal Jones if you read this review I just wanna say you have a good company great equipment and the majority of people in H. R, safety, service, and trainers are awesome but unfortunately these 2 people I mention proved this review to be my negative review towards your company. Till this day I dont even know if I'm hired or fired because no one has even reached or advise me what the situation was but its ok. Hope you can actually resolve these issues because who knows how many good drivers have left your company do to similar issues and pursue a better career somewhere else where they're appreciated. I spoke with a recruiter who was very disrespectful. Along his line of questions he said he'd have to check my "rap" sheet. I said if he was referring to my criminal record he wouldn't find any. Again he said he'll have to look and see how long it was as if I were lying.
His attitude seemed as if he were discouraging me from perusing a job there. My impression from speaking with him was it is not a very professionally run organization.
My bf worked there for 4 months just recently. At best he'd get 1 day off every 2 to 4 weeks. They would leave him hanging in limbo for a day or two after he'd get to a destination. He'd never know when they'd get back to him for another run.
My bf did tell me the attitudes of some of the drivers talking disparaging about female drivers.
I wonder if that is the basic culture of the company in general.
