Mi Madre's Restaurant reviews
14We just got a take out of the family pack with maragaritas. Great choice. Legit mix and plenty of food for everyone. Wish we would’ve eaten there the vibe looked great. Great value.
Classic, authentic Tex-Mex. Nothing fancy here; just hearty, delicious, and reasonably priced comfort food!
This was my second stop on my breakfast taco heavy trip to Austin. Very good. I had two migas and a mimosa. The house salsa was excellent.
Totally worth it. Nice and cozy. Food was delicious and service was fast! I'd definitely come back
My family just had a lovely dinner at Mi Madre! Got seated right away, our food came out _really_ quickly and it was all delicious. You can tell a lot about a Tex Mex restaurant by the quality of their rice and beans - some load up your plate with them, but they taste like they were made by people who don't like food. At Mi Madre, they were both lovely but I would dearly love to get my hands on the recipe for the beans, which were so outstanding I asked the server to compliment the chef on them!
I've only been there once and the barbacoa was very watery and not much on flavor, hopefully I just hit them on a bad day. Everything else was good.
This has been in the French Place neighborhood for years and the food as not changed much during that time. It is still awesome!
The carne guisada taco with cheese (#7) is extremely good. It tastes like a taco bell chili cheese burrito, but if it was high quality and home-made. Queso was a little bland, but the tortilla chips were very tasty. Prices were completely reasonable for a sit down mexican place (around $4 taco, around $11 meal).
So yummy! I got the chicken quesadilla and it was amazing. Just the right portions sizes. The chips and salsa did not disappoint. Totally recommend.
Terrible/no service. Don’t be fooled by the pictures and reviews like we were. You have to order your food at the bar when you go in before you can sit. The tables are sticky and the whole place inside and outside is hot. Maybe it’s a good place if you want to bring your dog outside? Kids menu is lacking. My husband tipped since we had to pay upfront and then we literally didn’t have a server. Had to ask for a refill and then was told there weren’t any refills so we had to pay again for another cup of lemonade that was half ice. Drinks and food were mediocre. We weren’t brought chips and salsa.had to ask for them even though other tables had them. Salsa did actually taste good (very spicy). I would never come back here based on bad service.
The service was fast and excellent, the food was top-notch (I recommend the mole chicken enchiladas), and the drinks were well mixed!
Great food, quiet outdoor seating, good service. Great table with friends where we could enjoy the evening and catch up on happenings.
Ambiance, variety, personality, great food and friendly staff. Chips and salsa were the best I have had. Ask for the green sauce with chips.
Very good wholesome food. Their portions are fantastic! Wraps, quesadillas, rice plates, their salad was filling too. Pets are welcome, as the restaurant has a homely ‘backyard’ kinda outdoor porch. We are our meal outside, amidst their herb garden, succulents, fresh flowers & plants. I was focused on capturing the prettiness around us, so will have to go back to get food pics
