Spent a great deal of time with me on the phone and was prompt to reply to my email as well. Was very thorough in educating me on the process of appeal and reviewing our property appraisals over the last several years.

If I could give him a zero I would. He "represented" me in 2022 and 2023 by failing to file a protest in both years. He acknowledge his failure in 2022 and offered his service for 2 years at no cost to make it right. And then when he screwed up again in 2023 and failed to file a protest yet again, instead of owning his failure, he sent me a nonsensical explanation to cover himself. There are lots of good, established and well-organized property tax protest services in Houston. I made the terrible mistake of giving this guy a chance.

Michael was very kind and helpful to share his extensive legal knowledge of property tax exemption law regarding our recent case with Harris County Appraisal District hearing with the Appraisal Review Board regarding homeless veterans' shelters.

Worked with my business partner the year before and easily reduced our property tax as we’d just bought the property. This year the valuation was raised even higher than before and naturally we hired him again. As soon as we signed the paper work he went complete radio silence, no response to phone calls or emails. Even to my business partners father who was also going to higher him for his own property. Finally get a response from him when we’re well out of time to protest that his petition failed. What? ! In a neighborhood where everyone’s taxes are lower than ours and you’re gonna tell us this now. This guy is a fraud, only worth your time if you’ve just bought the property and have the bill of sale to show for it.

I initially hired Michael to represent us in our property tax protests. He was initially responsive before we executed the documents to hire him and said he’d be able to handle the rest. After hiring him I checked in on my file and he mentioned he had filed the protest and a hearing was set with HCAD for June 20th, 2023. I emailed Michael in July and to my surprise he said he failed to show for the hearing. He said he could get another hearing date as he was sick and said if they don’t grant him a new date he will sue the city. I assumed as an attorney he would follow with plan, however, I emailed him in August about 6 times and called him a few times and he is no longer responding. I called a few other property tax companies and they looked into it and let me know nothing could be done anymore as he failed to show up and once the ARB dismissed the protest you can longer move to Arbitration.

I just want to be transparent with public that he is no longer responding to me and has stopped responding to my friend who also hired him.

We both really attempted to get a hold of him but he’s stopped responding. I would not recommend hiring Michael Saegert. If you look into Texas Bar complaints he will show up under the search. I should have looked into this before hiring him.

Please consider this review before hiring Michael. It sounds like he has done the same thing with other folks who hired him this year.

An absolutely great, patient person. Mike provided insights on how to deal with the ARB and arbitration matters, including how to get responses on legal inquiries into the CAD. I will certainly look to engaging him again.

I have been referring home owners to Michael for 4+ years to help them protest their property tax values. I referred a family to him this spring and they went through the process. We are now finding out that he never filed their protest. He has not responded to any emails or calls for weeks.

While Mr. Saegert came highly recommended, and he professionally agreed to take my property tax case by sending over a document that we both signed, he then dropped all communication despite my emails and phone calls to check on the status of the case. I finally called the appraisal district myself only to learn that Mr. Saegert NEVER FILED our case. Therefore saddling us with a year's worth of bloated property taxes, that we so diligently tried to protest.

DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!
He has still not returned any communication, even from the person who recommended him.
