Mint Salon, San Antonio TX

I wanted to cry when I left this salon. I dont know if they set me up with someone new or what but everything was going fine until the bleach for my money piece. Now I know what you're thinking- was your hair bleached before or no? And yes it was. My hair was already blonde in the front. The stylists only job was to retouch that. They didn't put any heat and my hair turned ORANGE. Then they proceed to ask if my other stylist does this process in sessions or "how do they do it? " Like what kind of question is that? To top things off- this person just needed to touch up my face frame. This was the kicker. They cut my freaking side burn hairs SO SHORT. I LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT WITH MY HAIR IN A PONY TAIL. This is what made me ultimately want to cry. It looks horrendous. My super pricey stylist I went back to started laughing and asked what they did to my hair- he said its orange and they pretty much did a "bowl cut" on my face frame. THEN- yes, im not done, before I leave, the stylist I had said "hmm. I don't love it" well no shirt Sherlock, I don't either. Lol but thanks for ackwledging that. And how I know that my hair came out bad is that the stylist proceeded to take a before picture but was too ashamed to tske an after. Thats how you know I guess. This place is lucky I paid when I left after butchering my hair. I shouldve sat in that chair and cried and refused to pay like I was planning on while my heart was racing but I jist wanted to hurry up and get out that door and cry in my car. Don't come here. They have great reviews and idk why, but like I said- maybe it was the stylist I had they were new or something but this was the worst experience of my life. The hair cut was a joke- this was the onky thing that could not be fixed. I have to walk with my hair like this and wait for it to grow; and the color was a monstrosity. Id post a pic of my hair cut but idk how and its honestly probably better i dont want this stupid cut on the internet and i cry everytime i see it up.but I will never refer someone to come here or go here again. Ever.

I am new to the area and Want to support small businesses. So decided to check out Mint because of the great reviews and the atmosphere.

Lilliana was amazing! I am a first time customer at Mint Salon and was scheduled with Lilliana for a cut. The entire experience was great! The atmosphere was relaxing and had a great local vibe to it. The cut and style by Lilliana was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend her, and this salon, to anyone.

I have been coming to Laura for almost 7 years. When I moved to SA it was difficult to find someone who could care for natural African-American hair. She has done a fabulous job at keeping my hair healthy. I get bored very easily so I change my color a lot. I never know when I’m going to cut it. She is a color specialist and can switch things up on a whim! I always buy the hair products that she uses, although she never throws me a sales pitch. She is very humble, sweet, and patient.

The salon vibe is very relaxing. They play good music and I look forward to seeing new decor and plants. I have referred a lot of people to Laura over the years (all nationalities) and they have all loved her just as much as I do. I am a regularly and I see her every two weeks. You can’t go wrong, all of the stylists do a good job here!

I love my stylist Sarah she’s always so sweet and professional. I started to bring my teenage daughter as well and she loves it. The staff is always so friendly as well. Highly recommend

I have never felt so comfortable at a salon before! Great atmosphere and cute art everywhere. Savanna did an amazing job, exactly the haircut I wanted. Usually when I go to typical salon I feel uncomfortable because I am not a girly girl. But Savanna made me feel welcome. She also gave me a lot of great tips for my hair type and tips on keeping it healthy. Would highly recommend!

Been going to Anya exclusively for the past oh, 15 years? And she is easily the most knowledgeable and precise stylist I've ever met. Yesterday we did a treatment and she fully rejuvenated my locks to something akin to those bouncy Pantene pro v commercials from the 90s.

I will follow her to the ends of the earth. Preferably In a convertible, with my beautiful hair flowing through the wind in slow motion.

Mint is everything you want and need in a salon. My stylist April is the best! The atmosphere is very mellow. You're surrounded by amazing plants, art, and music. Full service salon from highlights, cut, color, nails and hair products. In the heart of San Antonio, TX. Love the near by boutique for shopping. You can make a whole day of pampering yourself.
