Got a small birthday cake for $75 dollars was expecting a beautiful cake but instead I was really disappointed the cake looked sloppy and had a paper print cut out for design…. Really disappointed didn’t feel I got my money’s worth tbh.

Went for samples of wedding cakes.for first time. IM IMPRESSED! They have several ones that are deli.consider to order for the future.

I saw that this place had really good reviews so I had to try it out. Their mandarin or blueberry cake is the best, and the staff was really friendly.

Let’s start from the beginning. I walk in one day to see if they can make me a cake for that same day. About four employees saw my mom and I walk in and no one said hello or anything, we were simply ignored; plus three of them were not doing anything. We asked if they can make us a cake for that same day, and everyone said no, which we understand because it was such a short notice, then out in the back this lady comes out and she says yes we can make you a cake for today, just give us a few hours and it will be ready. Great, so we paid and waited for the cake! Once we got home to try it, let me tell you. First off when we cut the cake, a weird smell come out of it, second the cake was not the flavor we asked for, and lastly the cake was hard as a rock. If they were just going to give us leftovers from days ago, they could have said no we can’t make you a FRESH cake for today but we have this over here, instead of pretending we were getting a fresh baked cake.

On a side note, they also sell these round cookies there in a clear plastic container with almond. We asked the only lady that helped us, if we ordered a large amount can they make them without almond. The lady, which we really think she was a boss or something because she told two girls what to do, said that those cookies come as they are. That they can’t remove the almond, no special order was allowed.

They do not work professionally with everyone, they see you and they would treat bad on how you are dress, they are mean and do not talk with good customer service I never experience this issued in the valley.

I’ll break down the review into three categories: Presentation, Flavor, and Customer Service
 
First off, Presentation. I ordered the sunflower cake that’s shown in the photos. If you look at the picture, you can tell that the presentation is nothing less than amazing. The sunflowers were well-crafted and the overall layout was very eye-appealing. I had only seen cakes like this online or at fancy parties, so when I showed up for pick up, I was blown away. My wife loved it as well. She had never had a cake decorated like this. Our cakes were always the buttercream or whipped cream type with the typical grocery-store décor. So, for this category, it’s clear that they get 5 stars, no doubt about it.
 
On to the flavor. Oh, boy, this is where they really dropped the ball. I ordered pineapple flavor with cream cheese filling. I didn’t taste the cake until after I had passed out a few pieces at the party and I could hear the guests commenting on the cake and trying to figure out what the flavor was. It was so lacking in flavor that they all started to guess that it was either vanilla or the standard yellow cake. I mentioned that it was supposed to be pineapple with cream cheese filling and they looked at me like I was very mistaken. I tasted the cake myself and they weren’t wrong. There was no pineapple flavor at all. If anything, I got a weird, burnt flavor. The cake itself didn’t look burnt and it wasn’t dry, but it’s as if the pan had been burnt somehow and was used to make this cake. It’s hard to describe the flavor, but that’s the best I can come up with. Every now and then one of us would come across a little piece of pineapple the size of a small pea but that’s about it. As for the filling, I know that they’re not going to spread 100% cream cheese on there – most places will make a mousse for the filling. I scooped a decent portion of filling and tasted it. Again, very lacking in flavor. I had to focus on my taste buds in order to taste the cream cheese, otherwise it tasted like bland, dense whipped cream. I mean, come on guys, for the price you charge, I’d expect much higher quality than this. I’ve had better tasting cakes from HEB. Because of the price-to-flavor ratio, I’m giving 0 stars.
 
Lastly, Customer Service. Customer service was outstanding. When I called, the person I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. She listed the available flavors and fillings, explained the sizing of the cakes, and provided a phone number where I could text in the information once I decided what design and flavor I wanted. Texting was also a nice touch as it provided communication without much disruption to whatever I was doing. They really did a good job at communication. The staff was very friendly as well in person. The lady noticed my hand was injured and helped me carry the cake out to the car. Very nice attention to detail all around in this category, so it’s an easy 5 stars.
 
The mathematical thing to do here would be to calculate the mean out of 5+0+5, which would result in a rounded-down score of 3 stars. However, the disappointment we all experienced from the absolute lack of flavor despite the cost associated with the cake is too much to give this place 3 stars, so I’m only going to give it 1 star.
 
Who knows, maybe I just got a bad batch, maybe the baker was an apprentice or was having a bad day. The list of benefit-of-the-doubt possibilities could be endless. However, because it’s very clear that this place strives in specialty cakes, a benefit of the doubt should not be something that I should consider in my review.

Designs are cool but the taste is terrible! The frosting basically had no flavor it was just a lot of staining food coloring. When we went and tasted the samples they were good but when we got our order it wasn't great at all. I should have stuck to the grocery store.

Great friendly service! The blueberry cake is delicious. I’ve always been happy with their cakes. Been a long time customer.

I'm a baker, but have always ordered blueberry cake for son's parties. And they never disappoint with design or flavor.

Everyone at Miranda's are always friendly. The cake always look great and taste so delicious. I always get complaints on the blueberry cake. Everyone loves that one. One day I ordered a cake with only one day in advance and they were able to make it happen with one day notice, unlike other places. I will always be a costumer of Miranda's.

Awesome place for last minute cakes. Went in just to check it out. Came out with a cake under 20 minutes! It was during the week tho. But the cake was awesome!

Had great service I went in at the last minute and they were able to get me a personalized cake for my daughter in less then 20 minutes, lady was very helpful, not expensive for everything I got done

Was having a horrible day and it was my daughter bday finally got my car running they had my cake done 45 min and I ordered that same day withen a hour of pick up they did a amazing job

I have bought cakes here since it started in roma, tx and still i buy them here i love the taste and quality on special ordered cakes and cupcakes.

I didn't have an option to have no stars. Okay, so it was my first time there and I wanted a beautiful cake for my sons bday party. They all looked mad not even happy to greet us. Had us waiting about 2 hours before paying any attention to us and she told me that the cake I had in mind the way I wanted it was going to look ugly so since she didn't want to do. It she gave me a price for about $200 dlls on a 50 person cake! The older lady was unprofessional and very very rude!

Best place for cakes. Have done business with them for over 15 years. When I return to the valley I always order my cakes from them for my special occasions.

I quoted a birthday cake for my son, I got a price, but they couldn't take card at the moment, so I went to the ATM to get cash, came back and they gave me a complete different price and even called me a liar.
I obviously went with someone else.

This place makes me wish there was an awful button for all the options.tho service was ok is the worse quality and appeal by far! The worse decision ive ever made they ruined my babys first bday party with an awful looking very dry tasting cake and they put things in they're cakes that were not edible and according to the FDA could be harmful for kids if eaten.the worse choice ive ever made.

Went to purchase sweet bread on 8/25/15. The shop had limited sweet bread and it was very hard. I still purchased what was available thinking I'll warm it up when I get home. Got home, made my coffee and warmed up my pineapple empanada. Sat down began eating my bread and what do you know? A f@$%&n bug was in it! Ugh! ; (
