Atmosphere was Very Nice, and that where it stops anytime a Soul Food place is empty that is a clue to turn around The Mac and Cheese Horrible along with the Greens, Yam was Very Good and The Cream Corn was good. That Peach Tea by itself. Ms Patti redo your recipes please and Thank you

First inside the door, you're greeted with the best old skool music, very pleasant atmosphere, clean and food is great. The staff is wonderful, bring your food to your table. All you have to do is eat and enjoy old skool music!

The food was a 5/10 for me and 3/10 for others in my group. It took about 35-40min for the food to come out. The oxtails should be left to the carribbean to make, rice was gummy and catfish tasted unseasoned. The cabbage was good in my opinion but I've had better from individuals who made it at home. Collards tasted like canned glory greens. Safest thing to get is the chicken wings, fried ribs and their lemonades. Better seasonings is needed on the food. Wasn't horrible but its a "one and done" for us. Service was very kind and atmosphere nice

I am not sure why this restaurant doesn’t have higher stars. My experience has been the best since I have been in Houston. Once you walk in it’s like you’re stepping into your Grandmas living room. The decor is like a blast from
The past in a good way. Red and black all around and the sounds of Soul music oozes through the speaker. You walk up to the kitchen window where a sweet young lady greats you. No rushed feeling as we looked at the menu on what we would like. Stuck on what to order we got the shrimp basket shrimp 10/10! Cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Drinks were good! We got the watermelon fusion and the tea and lemonade 10/10 for both. The corn is some of the best corn I had in years it’s sweet so if you don’t like sweet corn don’t order. The wings were good I should have at them on the way as they got soggy (not the restaurant fault at all we have a 30 mins drive). The owners were so sweet, they greeted my son, my fiancé and me and even tried to guess our son’s age. We will be back often. All these other restaurants with more stars and long lines are mediocre. If you’re looking for good southern food, beautiful vibes come here! Oh I have no pics we ate it all. My son ate an entire side of mashed potatoes! And was mad when they were gone LOL

It pains me to write this review because I am an avid supporter of Black owned business. However, you must know this, and I pray that Miss Patti takes it as constructive criticism.
If you are looking for a full service restaurant, this is not the place.
1. It's a beautiful spot, just as you see online.
There are nicely dressed tables, but you have to order and pick up your foods at the counter. That's not bad, but your food is served in SMALL, to-go containers only! I ordered the oxtail dinner, with sweet corn and greens. I received 4 thinly cut oxtail, one tablespoon of corn, and two forks full of greens. (Small forks) $19.00.2. The to-go cutlery was the very cheap kind (like for children. It's not sturdy at all.
3. All of the hot sauce and ketchup on every table was ransit (brown in color). I ask for a new bottle and I was given one, without a problem.
3. I was told the restroom (s) was not working. Rember, this is a sit-down establishment. I wanted to wash my hands. There was sanitizer on each table, but I wanted to wash my hands.

All of the above can be fixed by just serving customers
With proper plates (even if it's in trow away cantiers, give adult portions.
4. My guest ordered meatloaf (it was a good-sized portion), but again, his garlic potatoes were not much in size. The candied yams were not either and clearly from a can. $15.00.

The prices were not bad if you received adult portions.

I truly hope Ms. Patti receives this in kind.

Beautifully done SOUL FOOD place. Delicious, I'll drive from Temple to ear here again! I had the fried chicken, Mac n cheese and pinto beans. SUPERB! WELL DONE!

Waited almost 25 minutes just for them to tell me I had to wait another 15 to make fresh sauce; that would’ve been more helpful to know when I placed my order; I would’ve chosen something else

We had a Philly Steak Sandwich, Catfish & Shrimp, and Red Velvet Cake. The Philly Steak was more than I wanted, but might be small for other people (5x3"). Everything was delish, the fried food was crispy and not greasy. The cake was wonderful, moist, and a perfect size for both of us to share.

The food was great prices fair and people are warm and friendly. Did I mention the Oxtail and greens are amazing.

Food was excellent. My son and I enjoyed our food. Staff was nice. The restaurant is very nicely decorated inside. Priced good especially the pork chop lunch special. My son said the shrimp were really good. We will be back.

My husband and I ate here Sunday afternoon. I was hoping to enjoy some delicious cooking. Beautiful atmosphere but not very welcoming. No one attends to the tables while eating, never even given you cups of water for your table. My order was almost $50! I had 3 small strips of catfish, let me emphasize small with two sides. The mac and cheese were awful, and my garlic mashed potatoes were cold. Food didn't taste or appear fresh. The catfish was bland. My hubby had smothered chicken, he guess
. The red beans and rice were dry, and the cabbage appeared to be boiled cabbage with no seasoning. The appearance of the food appeared to be rewarmed leftovers. I wanted to give the dessert a try and ordered a soggy wet peach cobbler with no flavor. The tea was the best part of my meal. You would think you would have enough to take home with the price we paid. Honestly, they need to rethink the cook and plan better with someone attending to the tables to check-in to see if customers are ok within the restaurant instead of hiding behind the counter. This will be my 1st and last time eating at this establishment.

Came here and ate and ordered meatloaf and Mac and cheese. The meatloaf was dry and mac and cheese smelled like throw up. The staff is unfriendly when you ask for sauce they look at you crazy. They rush you to order and take forever to bring your food. Word of advice is this place needs to shutdown or get a makeover quickly. Greet your customers I felt unwanted

The pineapple lemonade and peanut butter cookies were delicious. However everything else was not! Paid almost $50 for undone oxtails, wet baked Mac and cheese and the dirty rice was horrible. The yams were just sliced and put on the plate. The greens were ok. Porkchop seemed to be air fried instead of deep fried. Would only go back for the cookies and lemonade. Beautiful atmosphere but food was terrible.

Food was great, although the air-conditioning was not functional overall I enjoyed the experience!
