Monterey Boat Ramp reviews
4 When the lake is at normal pool level it's a great place to put in, well protected from wind. When the lake is high its hard to put in since the ramps are steep so expect to get wet.
When Rayburn is low, really low you can still launch just be aware of a sand bar or two
It look like a very nice place to go but when we got there some guy was already fishing and had a dog that was unleashed and so because I have little kids I didn't want his dog to bite my kids or to try and fight with our little dog that we brought on a leash so we left and went to a different part of lake Sam Rayburn. I will rewrite and update my review next time we get to try this place out. The parking lot did look kind of full from all the boaters with their trailers.
Great place to launch your boat, not overly crowded. Fair amount of parking and clean. Will use it again!
Not to steep, usually not too full with spaces to park most anytime of day or night. We have been visiting 3-4x/week and the trash bins always have room for more! Someone keeps the area clean & bins emptied! Could use a little more mowing & another big light. (There’s one by the ramp and another at entrance. The one at entrance usually isn’t working so it’s difficult for boaters to finish up tie down etc if more than one boater loading up. Usually see Sherriff Dept checking up on the boat ramp area keeping vehicles secure & we haven’t seen any kind of criminal activity there. But there is an alligator there hanging out on the right side of ramps if your looking out towards the water from ramp so be careful!
