Monterey's Little Mexico, Temple TX

Not nearly as good as in the past. Haven't been in years. Stopped in today after Dr appointment, I'm from out of town.
The rice was dry. The guacamole tasted bitter and aged. The enchiladas tasted like left overs. I'm not sure what is happening, if they are preparing the food and storing it, but there is definitely a problem. Something is off. I don't think I'll be back.

This is some good food - wow! First, we had the Shrimp, Crawfish, Spinach and cheese Queso - the soft shell tortillas are very unique and delicious - I had the fish tacos, and my wife had fajita tacos - they double up their corn tortillas - awesome flavor!

Our Waitress, Arnaz, was very sweet, friendly, and attentive - God Bless her!

Group of 7 and the food was all good. Tacos al pastor, barbacoa, Mexican corn, chicken enchiladas. Service was excellent. All food came out hot and all receipts were correct. Had the 99cent Margaritas since we were there on the 5th. They were good

One of the dumbest things I have heard in many years of work is this place requires TABC for being a dishwasher which is stupid and what ever idiot decided this was obviously an idiot - other thing to note they said when they messaged me they covered TABC and when asked during the interview they say they do not so wtv moving on

We would probably not go back. We did have a large group of 20, but there was nobody else in the restaurant. The waitress said she is new, so we understood not to expect great service. The chips and salsa were very good. Drinks were very hard to get refilled. Once she took the order, some food came out pretty quick, but sadly, most took a very long time and were not what was ordered. Mine and a couple of others finally just took what came out since all in the group were already done with their meals. They did not give any discounts even with the long wait and missed orders. There are much better places.

Ate dinner here tonight. Had spinach enchiladas w rice and beans. Really good! $17 w a large tea.

New management? Their stupidity and carelessness are the same as ever.
I went here to pick up my online order. I showed the phone to the young female manager and said the name of the order.she mechanically said it would take a few more minutes without even looking at my phone. She went into the kitchen, I waited for about 20 minutes, then after going to the bathroom for a while, she was out and asked if it was not ready yet, so someone just already picked it up, she said. What kind of nonsense is this? She asked for the orderer's name again, and then she was able to find my order in their system. She said she needed more time to make. I didn't want to waste any more time so I just went back.
What does this happening mean? When I first got here, she didn't even know what my order was, she didn't listen to me, and she automatically and irresponsibly told me that it would take a few more minutes, and did it make sense that I was waiting there and someone else picked me up? ?

It was over all a amazing experience although due to some time because our waiter was helping other tables my mom got really upset because of a soup and a ticket pretty embarrassing but he was literally five other tables he had so I don’t understand why my mom reacted that way and there food really good but the beans were not so great but it’s fine now

Things were a little off during my last visit, small but noticeable. I joked "new management" my server answered "yes, can you tell? " It's the little things that use to make this one of my favorite go to eateries. Hoping they got their grove back.

Friends were great. Food was mediocre. Service, bless her heart, she could could have used some help. Parking lot was snug.

The food was horrible. My waitress was amazing super sweet. The portion size for the fajita plate was super small. Was really looking forward to eating here. Now wish I would have just went to the Mexican restaurant next door to it

I was ultimately disappointed the place is very festive and decorated. It seems like an authentic experience.until the food came out tasted old and freezer burned. There was a very distinct chemical taste to the main course. I have the layered enchiladas and I was expecting a plate with beautiful layers of spinach cheese mushrooms and chicken and I got a plate with tepid heated sloppy layers of old food I ate 3 bites and didn't eat anything else. Our bill was 50 and I'm so upset that we had to pay at all.

BEWEAR! So yesterday my husband and I ate at this restaurant for the first time in years. We live out of town so when we where in town we thought to go here remembering how great it was. Well after eating here I was nauseous and weak the rest of the day. This was the only place I ate the whole day and by 8 pm I was throwing up uncontrollably. I now feel somewhat better but I have had a fever now for a few hrs. We will never eat here again and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy, If I had one of course. DO NOT EAT HERE!

My 4th visit but first disappointing meal. Lunch Beef fajitas were a little charred and tough. Got only 2 small tortillas. I asked for more but it didn't happen. Side beans and rice were cold. Not un-hot but refrigerator chilled in the middle. Wife had tortilla soup which had no tortillas in it or with it. No lemon or lime available with the water.

My other visits were all positive so I will not judge by a single bad one but I'll be cautious when I go back.

We arrived around an hour and a half before they closed. They were not busy at all. They were out of Spanish rice. They were out of chili rellenos. I got nachos, and they just weren't that good. The server was very nice, and tried very hard to make our visit pleasant! Our visits there in the past have been very positive, so we will definitely give them another chance. Hopefully, it was just a bad night.

This is the BEST place for date night.not shy of seasoning. Drinks impeccable.a must! WEEKLY️

Update 3/27/23: Jessica is a fantastic server! The lunch beef fajita stuffed avocado is delicious. And if you're a fan of coconut drinks, you must try the Coconut Crusher!
Love this restaurant, one of my favorites! It's festive, the staff are always friendly, the food is fresh and delicious, and reasonably priced. Celia O was our server on 7/22/20; very pleasant and helpful. I always eat here when in the area; really wish we had one in Austin where I live!

The food was ok, the service not so great, our waitress seemed angry and put out that we came in.
