Motel 6 San Marcos, TX

It was ok as emergency crash space. The person who checked me in was pretty adamant about all the ways they could charge me an extra $250 and was impatient as I read things before I signed them. The sheets did not feel fresh, but it was too late for me to see about getting them changed. The TV was not connected to anything. There was free WI-FI, though. Maybe next time I invest a little more.

This place was HORRIBLE! I had to ask to change rooms because the first room was so bad. The second wasn't too much better. One of the worst experience's of my life.
I will say, the ONLY reason for the 1 star is because of how sweet and accommodating the midnight desk girl was.

Remodeled about 6 years ago or so, and it already is disgusting in the rooms. Or my rooms, 207, was. Didn't even want to get in the shower.

Water in shower felt slimy, tub was clogged so your feet are 6 inches deep in water at all times when you shower. Room smelled bad and as if someone had smoked in it even though we were in the no smoking section. Overall, very cheap stay but you get what you pay for. Won't be staying here ever again personally!

Either they do a fantastic job of keeping room 204's A/C unit clean.or its brand new.regardless, its the least nasty hotel room A/C unit I've ever encountered. No in-room mini fridge or microwave though. Also lacking a dresser, closet, storage of any kind (aside from a partial under-bed stowaway space), and there's no traditional hotel Gideon's Bible. Only one side of the bed gets a night stand and there's only one trashcan for the entire room, including bathroom. If you judge the place based off of the curb appeal, you'd be mistaken. The hotel has undergone the standard modern Motel 6/Studio 6 renovations and is surprisingly clean! The pool appears to be well maintained but there's no pool access due to covid. There's a nice vending machine snack and soda variety (Sprite LIMEonade! So good!) next to the office as well as 1 microwave and 2 ice machines. If you're feeling touristy, there's a local amenities brochure rack. Pets are welcome! And with NO pet deposit!? Just be courteous enough to declare your pets at check-in. Other local motel 6 locations will charge a fee if your pet begins exhibiting aggressive or disruptive behavior, so I assume the same goes here. I recommend for anyone with pets looking to get a decent, cheap room. Not necessarily a great atmosphere for small children.

When I arrived the lady at the front desk was super nice and efficient!
Then when I went to my room I was super surprised with how clean and comfy the room was. I had plans to go out that night but I so wanted just stay there cause my room was soooo nice!

This review is solely on my experience at the south location in San Marcos. I have NEVER been so disgusted with a hotel stay in my life. 1st room the ac was leaking in the room, second room had hair all over and nail trimmings and other DNA that a person just shouldn't have to deal with. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I had the receptionist refund the charge from the hotel due to the unsanitary standards and told her I was leaving which is exactly what I did. Now this sorry excuse of a Motel is REFUSING the waiver from hotels.com to refund my money from their website. Thats right charged by hotels.com AND motel 6 and they are refusing the waiver for hotels.com to refund my money. THERE IS A GLOBAL PANDEMIC KILLING PEOPLE AND YOU THINK ITS OKAY TO GIVE PEOPLE UNCLEAN ROOMS AND WHEN THEY LEAVE OVER YOUR SUBPAR STANDARDS YOU REFUSE THEM THEIR MONEY

Nasty place. Tub had cockroaches running around in it.
Bed's had bed bugs TV didn't work at all.
But if you're single the girl at the counter will take care of you for $50. She asked me 3 time's.

The value was par for the service.not a bad selection for resting my head for a few hours. BUT, wasn't pleased to hear lots of loud music in the parking lot around midnight. Sound like a speaker sale at the flea market. I believe cops were called. Cleanliness was good, a/c was fair, beds were fair.not too bad for value

The employee greeted me each time I came in and she did everything she could to satisfy me with her customer sirvice to make sure I was happy.

Dang door stopped working and they had to switch me rooms, then they stole my items from the other room. They are bunch of hooded theives working togethere to jack people. Place is trash!

The hotel looked nicer in the pictures than it really was. Also, the website advertised that there was a pool. However, the pool was out of service "due to Covid".

Bunch of flies in the room and the room had a bad smell to it on top of that the ac wasn’t blowing good at all just poor quality/scenery

The staff was really sweet and everything however then the owner showed up and I was having a payment issue which could have been resolved if I had just been given a couple hours to resolve it just.
I don't know if they've had issues with squatters before or what but the owner like is really quick to kick people out there's like zero customer service once he enters the building

And the pool doesn't work
Its almost August

Rooms need to be cleaned a little better But all in all for an overnight it's a good place comfortable beds

The only thing wrong was the restroom light did not work. I called the front desk, "I'll call maintenance to fix". That never happened

$140 a night for such low quality hotel is ridiculous. State of swiming pool was disgusting.

Please find literally any other place to stay, the room was gross, lights didn't work, and there were bugs
