I had originally signed up as a doula client, but decided super late in the game (38 weeks) that I would like to have a home birth. I just couldn’t imagine having birth strapped to equipment and required to labor and deliver according to what someone else dictated… Not to mention the increased risk of interventions and c-section associated with hospital deliveries. So, home birth here we come! And we did!

In very short order Priscilla had me transitioned to a midwife client, set me up with a billing specialist that got it all covered by my insurance (thank you VERY much), and provided me with amazing in-home care that was convenient, comfortable, and completely collaborative. I never felt pressured about anything and felt like I was being well informed every step of the journey from the beginning of our care through postpartum.

The birth was fast! Priscilla had Jennifer head over ahead of her since Jennifer was closer to me. It was a good thing since baby arrived just 15-20 minutes after Jennifer! Both Priscilla and Jennifer were very reassuring, professional and effective. I felt very safe and taken care of, which was important for me. The after care was amazing— all in home!

I would recommend Motherly Transitions to anyone. Do it! You won’t regret it.

Excellent midwife care! Priscilla was very knowledgable and really took her time at each of my appointments to address all my questions and concerns. I felt very cared for each time I went in as well as throughout labor and birth. I will be using Priscilla again next time I have a baby and can’t recommend her enough!:)

Priscilla and Kristina played a huge part in me achieving a vbac at home with my second child! Priscilla was my midwife and Kristina was my doula (although she was at another birth when I went into labor: (). Priscilla is very knowledgeable about all things pregnancy and baby. I asked her a million questions about what if scenarios and she was able to answer my questions and alleviate my fears at the same time. My first birth was a a traumatic c-section at a hospital with an OB, so I had a lot of fears and emotions arise during my pregnancy. I felt completely supported in all my decisions throughout pregnancy and birth (testing, ultrasounds, etc.). It definitely helped calm anxieties knowing my team was aligned with your research and beliefs, including my tolac attempt being completely safe even at home. My husband and I took their birth class which was helpful, especially for my husband!

After a few episodes of prodromal labor, my active labor went fairly quick. Priscilla was there to help and assist and explained what she was doing each step of the way (a lot of my fears stemmed from unnecessary intervention). Even when I was in pain or upset with my progress, she was always so calm and informed me of my choices. Every time I said no or I can't, I heard her say yes you can! It helped my mental state during labor to be re-affirmed. Priscilla arrived at 10pm and my daughter was born at 1am and I think she left close to 4am.

Since Kristina was at another birth that evening, they sent their backup Doula. She was so great as well! She was a total stranger at first, but I trusted Priscilla and Kristina to only send someone who would be great and like-minded. Kristina was very helpful when we discussed my birth plan. I greatly appreciated her transparency about my birth wishes in the event I needed to be in a hospital.

If you want providers who are both very knowledgeable, calm and re-assuring during your pregnancy and birth - Priscilla and Kristina are the best! We hope to have a couple more kids and they will definitely be our birth team again!

My homebirth was everything I thought it was going to be. Priscilla was the amazing! I felt so safe, and comfortable with her. She made my first homebirth experience truly something I will never forget because she gave me the confidence I needed throughout the labor. What people don’t tell you about midwives is how dedicated and caring they are to you. We are so grateful to have chosen her. She will be the first one we call for our next precious little one. Thank you, Motherly Transitions for an experience I will never forget. You made it happen for us. We are forever grateful.

Do yourself a huge favor and hire these amazing ladies to be your doulas! I have used them for BOTH of my children’s births and I couldn’t have done it without them. Seriously.

With my first born, Priscilla met my husband and I at the hospital. I had terrible back labor due to my son being in the wrong position. Priscilla did hip squeezes off and on to help with the pain for over 10 hours! Her poor arms. When I wanted to get an epidural she helped me weigh the pros and cons. She coached me through each contraction and encouraged me during the whole process. She is amazing!

With my second I was planning to birth at a birth center but had to change plans last minute due to medical reasons. I was so worried that they couldn’t take me on as a client again because of short notice but these amazing ladies made it happen! To further explain how much I believe in having a doula, the hospital only allowed for two guests. Well one of course was my husband and the other was going to be my doula. I didn’t have to think twice about it although my family not being there was hard. I was induced at the hospital and this time around I had Kristina by my side. When she met us at the hospital she brought such a calming presence to the room which I needed. I felt like all our plans had been crushed in a matter of days and didn’t know what to expect with being induced. When the pitocin really kicked in she massaged my back, rubbed oils on my body, and helped remind me that my body was made to do this. She also worked so well with the birth team!

These ladies are awesome and you need to hire them! I want to add my husband wasn’t 100% on board with hiring one at first. However once he saw how much value they bring to the birthing process he said “worth every penny and more”. I totally agree:)

When my husband and I met Priscilla and Kristina, their warm, professional, and passionate personalities made us want to hire them right away. We are so happy to have been referred to them as our birth doulas. Our labor ended with a healthy baby boy and a healthy mom, both for which we are so grateful. Priscilla conducted a birthing class a few weeks before I was due, and it opened our eyes to so much we didn’t know and reassured us that we made the right decision to have Priscilla and Kristina as our advocates. After 41 weeks of pregnancy, we checked into the hospital to be induced, but after 20 hours of contractions and not dilating past five centimeters, I was given the option to keep laboring or to have a c-section. My husband and I weren’t sure what to do, but the doctor and Kristina were patient, explained our options, and gave us their honest opinions. Everything went so smoothly, and despite having the c-section, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. While laboring before the c-section, Kristina gave the best massages and was able to put me in the most beneficial positions to get the baby’s heart rate down and to make me comfortable. The surgery was unexpected and quick, and it could have been traumatic had Kristina not been there to give us her support and prepare us beforehand. With Priscilla and Kristina available via phone or text to answer all of my questions throughout the pregnancy, we were amply prepared to be flexible in labor, and while in the hospital, Kristina always made sure that our priority was to be comfortable with the decisions we made. Because of this preparation and in spite of not getting the labor we had in mind, we were able to own all of the decisions we made, and there is no grief for the birth that might have been. During and after the labor itself, Kristina and Priscilla were a source of endless comfort and steadiness for both my husband and me. Kristina visited our home and checked my incision and answered any questions I had about parenting and my healing. Motherly Transitions was a key part of our birth team, and my husband and I will be forever grateful that both ladies were there for us. We highly, highly recommend them!

Priscilla with Motherly Transitions is absolutely amazing. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, and is an amazing midwife for a home birth. She made my difficult home birth so much better than it could have been. I'm very thankful for her.

Along side our OB, we hired Kristina and Priscilla for added support during our first pregnancy. They are both knowledgeable, friendly and supportive for all of the things we wished to follow. We learned a lot at our birthing class they hosted which helped guide us along the way of any traditional medical interventions that we wanted to avoid.
Kristina attended our birth and made sure I was comfortable with decisions that had to be made during labor. Even the L&D nurses had positive things to say about their experience with her!
I had my placenta encapsulated and her home visit after delivery gave me the confidence boost I needed moving forward being a new mom. We would highly recommend them to anyone who needs that added support and will definitely be in contact if we need them again in the future!

We really enjoyed our experience with Kristina and Priscilla! As a first time mom there was a lot I didn't know and a lot I was unsure of throughout my pregnancy and they were always able to answer all of my questions and concerns. I really enjoyed how they helped walk me through setting up my birth plan since I was giving birth in a hospital. Having them come over to my house once labor started gave me such peace of mind and kept me really confident and comfortable so I could labor at home for as long as I could. Definitely felt advocated for in the hospital as well having Kristina there and she was so helpful with positioning me and gave me so much guidance throughout the whole experience.

For anyone looking to have a home birth and quality prenatal care, I highly recommend Priscilla.

When we found out we were going to have our fourth baby. We knew we wanted to hire a midwife for my prenatal care and try for a home birth. From the moment I spoke to Priscilla on the phone for the first time I knew I wanted her as my midwife. My husband also knew right away when we met her in person. She was immediately invested in my well being, really listened to my experiences with my previous births and asked a lot of great questions to ensure that she really had a good picture of my birth history and current health so that she could provide the best care possible. We always enjoyed our prenatal appointments. The fact that she comes to you is such a blessing, especially since we had 3 little ones. It always felt like a friend was coming to visit and not just a provider coming to give a service. Priscilla will always take the time to listen and answer your questions.

When it came time for baby to come she arrived at around 10: 30pm on February 13th and immediately started to get everything ready all while maintaining a peaceful calming presence. She and my husband where helping me get through my contractions and after my water broke she checked me and even though I was dilated to an 8 we realized baby was still high in my pelvis and she knew just what to do. She had me change positions and literally from just that one suggestion everything moved quickly. I didn't realize how close baby was to coming and asked to use the restroom. Priscilla and my husband helped me to restroom and then she continued to try and set up the birth pool which was a harder than normal task as our hot water had run out so she was in the process of boiling pots of water to try and fill the pool. So they help me to the restroom and I suddenly feel the baby's head, intense pressure and my body taking over. I yelled "head pressure" and Priscilla literally runs and slides in on her knees into our tiny bathroom to catch our baby! It all happened so fast and Priscilla handled it like a BOSS! Because of my previous history of hemorrhaging Priscilla made sure to stay until she was sure my bleeding was under control. I felt very safe and taken care of and wish everyone had someone like Priscilla supporting them through their pregnancy, labor and postpartum care.

We are just so grateful that God put her in our lives and for the wonderful care she provided. If you really want to be taken care of during your pregnancy and birth hire Priscilla!

I’m so thankful to have found them, as a first time mom there were so many moments of fear.doubts, questions but they made it all better. They’re so knowledgeable, they guide you through your whole pregnancy journey
and postpartum journey.

They made my placenta pills and personally delivered them to my house and helped me with lactation guidance!

I highly recommend them to anyone that is expecting.

Kristina and Priscilla were amazing throughout my pregnancy and were a wealth of information. I always felt supported in the path I chose for my birth plan and postpartum journey. Kristina in particular was there during my birth and was fantastic in relaxing me and guiding me through the birthing process. I couldn’t have asked for a better/more positive in-hospital birth experience! I 100% recommend them and would use them again if I have another child.

Kristina was amazing during my labor! This was my third baby and my first time having a Doula. I wish I would’ve gotten a Doula for my first two kids! I got a Doula this third time around because my first two births were traumatic and I wanted an advocate for me in the hospital and someone to help with my anxiety. From the moment, Kristina came into the hospital, my fears and anxiety Diminished. I had to be induced so one of my goals was to try and not have an epidural with Kristina. I was able to accomplish this. Her massages and pressure point helped my pain management and I was able to have a really good experience with this birth!

Priscilla and Kristina are absolutely wonderful. They provided so much education to my husband and I pre- and postnatally, setting us up for success when it came to labor, delivery, breastfeeding, and recovery. I had an amazing birth, and I know it would not have gone as smoothly had Kristina not been with me to help me make informed decisions, advocate on my behalf, help me labor and help my husband help me labor. My husband was reluctant to hire doulas at first (as I know many husbands are). Soon after the birth, he said that he was so glad that we had them, and that the investment was totally worth it. We are incredibly thankful for Motherly Transitions and would recommend them to anyone!
