My husband brought me home a cakeball from an event he had a work. It was amazing. So delicious and moist! Not too sweet. Perfection!

I needed a “spur of the moment” bday cake and Ms. Myrtle’s Bakery came through with a well done and very tasty creation! Thank you guys so much! You are now at the top of my faves list!

I had the pleasure of meeting 2 wonderful ladies Miss Rosharon and Miss Andrea. What a fabulous experience meeting them They did a presentation at my church They told their beautiful story about this wonderful Bakery and their special Mom Items are fantastic they shared cookies with us Everyone just loved them I will be ordering from them from now Love it’s a family business they care about keeping their legacy

I’ve always loved this place when I lived in Houston & Ms. Myrtle always took great care of me b/c she reminded me so much of my Grandmother. I was saddened to hear of her passing on my recent visit.
This place is always spot on with its baked goods & reminds me of how my Big Momma/Grandmother used to bake in her kitchen. There are always so many delicious treats to choose from. The tea cakes are good, the carrot cake is good…honestly EVERYTHING is good! It’s so hard to choose. And the servings are so big that you can eat off of it more than once. You will not be disappointed…the Legacy of Ms. Myrtle lives on through her daughter. Try them out

A vendor for the hospital I work at purchased a King Cake from this bakery for my department. It was delicious! Tasted homemade! I had to find out where it came from even though I like to do my own baking! I want to try their other treats!

Fantastic local business, Ms. Myrtle's Bakery Shoppe made our wedding cake and we could not be more pleased! Other bakeries gave us outrageous quotes for bland cake. Ms. Myrtle's Bakery Shoppe was flavorful, delicious and at a great price! I would definitely recommend ordering from Ms. Myrtle's Bakery Shoppe you won't be disappointed!

Came to Ms. Myrtles Bakery for my baby shower cake. The cake was made exactly like the photo I provided. They really did an amazing job. The cake was very moist and favorable!

The only thing I disliked about my service was the ordering process. You can’t go inside of the store front to order your cake, it has to be done online only. It was kind of confusing because I didn’t really understand some of the cake measurements etc. I’m more of a visual person.

Other than that everything was amazing and done in a timely manner. I will now be ordering all of my cakes with Ms. Myrtles from now on.

Back again for my 30th Birthday Cake! If your celebration cakes not from Ms. Myrtles. YOU TRIPPING! The cakes are so moist and delicious! OMG!

Paid for extra crust on this peach cobbler we ordered top and bottom double crust and this peach cobbler looks like peach soup. It’s watery no extra crust at all. Hasn’t been the same since the founder passed away. This order was for Michael Jacobs. She also Ordered a German chocolate cake with no decorations they still decorated the cake. 90$ cake and 140$ peach cobbler a waste.

Good coconut cake, and very friendly service. Will remember to stop and try more desserts if I’m ever nearby again.

This vegan, chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting was one of the most delicious desserts I’ve ever eaten. The cake was moist and the frosting was very smooth. I do not live in TX but I will dream about this cake and visit when I come back.

Poor business etiquette

On this past Father’s Day weekend (2022), for my father who is turning 101, my wife placed an order for a German Chocolate Cake. It was not only a big weekend because of Father’s Day, but my family was looking forward to celebrating Juneteenth and this cake was going to be a part of that celebration. We have never ordered a full cake here before, but we have had the small bundt cakes that are sold in the case. WARNING: If you order a cake from here you will not be given full details about the cake. The woman that takes your order is rude and unprofessional. It seems the owner is aware of this because if you see the reviews, there are many complaints about the service here. Not only did our cake look nothing like the bundt cakes that they sell, but they also added birthday cake icing to it. We did not ask for this frosted icing, nor were we given any details about the fact that they decorate the cake differently that the smaller cakes that they sell. When I called to express my disappointment with the icing, I asked if they could please take the birthday cake icing off. The woman on the phone got agitated, stated that is how they make their cakes and did not want to anything I had to say. After a bit of back and forth, the woman decides to agree to take the icing off and tell me I can pick it up later. Shortly after hanging up the phone, my wife received a text message stating that we had been refunded for the cake. When I found out about the refund, I called back to find out what was going on and spoke to George. I was told that the woman had changed her mind, she didn’t want to fix the icing and just decided to cancel the order. I told George fine, I will just take the cake with the icing since we needed it for the celebrations, and he told ne he would check on the cake and call me back. He mentioned before ending the call that he could not guarantee that I could get the cake because they have 70+ orders and losing one order will not hurt them. Please be careful when doing business with Mrs. Myrtle’s Bakery because it is clear that customers are not valued. The attitude and anger that you might receive for a correction or customer request is insane.

This is one of the best bakery's I've ever been to. The entire ownership and staff is so warm and welcoming. They've made me feel part of the family. Not to mention their cakes and pies are second-to-none. They designed an incredible custom cheesecake for us shaped like a boombox. Incredible place and can't wait to go back!

Great customer service! Answered all of my questions before ordering, was ready before the time promised and was accommodating at the last min. I ordered a German Chocolate Cake and Pecan Pie. The German Chocolate Cake was AMAZING! Very moist, chocolaty with just enough coconut & grandmother approved! However, the Pecan Pie was a waist of my money. It looked so horrible I wasn't even willing to try it! Family tried a slice and spit it right out! Very disappointed so I'm going to assume it was because of the last min order. However, I would have preferred for them to tell me they did not have any available. Looked like a KEY ingredient was missing. It was runny right out the fridge. Had the pie been edible, I would have given them 5 stars even if not so tasty. I will try them again in the future.

Their coconut cake with the glaze is incredible. Subtle and sweet. Ive gone back a few times in Houston and always happy to support a Black owned business. I went before the rebrand but I'm sure it doesn't matter.

I placed an order for a coconut and pineapple cake for my mother with Ms. Myrtle' Bakery. The order was placed over two weeks before I got a message saying that they needed a deposit. When placing the order, I was not told about this, only to pick it up on the 24th of November. I explained to Kayla what happened and how important this cake was for my mother. She had me on hold on the phone for twelve minutes, only to tell me that the manager said that they are not fixing the cake. This is poor business etiquette. It is a shame that people are inconsiderate and not compassionate. My few dollars will not put you out of business but it will make me understand fairness.

If you want a special cake design, don’t order from here. The cake wasn’t ready at promised time and looked NOTHING like the pictures I provided. The cake was ready 15 mins prior to store closure time and I was asked if I wanted cake to be fixed. How? ! My 10 year old daughter could have designed a better cake. This was for a birthday celebration and we were already running late for dinner reservations. I was absolutely embarrassed to present this cake at large dinner gathering. The flavor was sub par and very comparable to box cake. Don’t waste your money!

Ordered a Pineapple Upside Down Cake for my brother's birthday. It is his favorite type of cake and we were hoping it would taste as good as the ones we grew up on. I can assure you, it did not disappoint. Not only was it delicious, it was esthetically pleasing. One of the most beautiful cakes I've ever seen; almost hated to cut into it. The location was easy to get to and they brought it to my car ON TIME! I'm looking forward to ordering something else from here in the near future.
