Museum District Child Care Center, Houston TX

I have had a wonderful experience at Museum District Childcare. The staff loves my child and she is always greeted with a smile by Ms. Amy. The director, Ms. Flavia, is attentive and had answered all of our questions and helped make this transition as smooth as possible. I am so glad I found this center to leave my child. I am at peace when I go to work because I know she is being loved.

My daughter was here for almost 6 months and unfortunately we switched her to a different school for several reasons. First and foremost, our daughter hated going to school after switching classes, which was obviously concerning. Second, the rooms in the building are very small - so if the weather is bad and they are mostly indoors, there is not much space for a toddler in their classroom. Third reason was the variation in teachers with each age group. Her initial teachers were out of this world amazing and then not so much. Probably a fine daycare if you are not an OCD parent, but if you are, I would suggest an alternative.

This is a decent child care but it looks like they have gamed the review system here on Google.

Pros:
1. Its relatively cheap and they offer concession for people who work in TMC area
2. They start very early
3. Some teachers provide good care and also explain how the day went for your son/daughter

Cons:
1. They have an app in which they claim they will post updates of your son/daughter but they rarely post any updates besides nap times and potty changes.
2. They have an event calendar and in the event calendar you will see options such as puppy petting day, fall colors day, some photography event but then absolutely nothing happens on those days.
3. So many insect bites on our son

Our son has been at MDCC since January 2021 and we have loved it this far. Our son is so happy everyday he goes in and comes home which speaks to the quality of their staff members. We love all the teachers Ben has had and we feel like they do a great job updating us throughout the day and are really good at identifying when our son is not acting normal. He’s teacher was able to identify the start of an ear infection early by realizing he wasn’t being himself. We were able to get him seen and get him on antibiotics early because his teacher pays attention and knows him well! Highly recommend!

Flavia, Amy and the whole team of teachers are wonderful to work with on a weekly basis. I am a Speech Pathologist and I visit this location 2x per week to provide services. I have noticed excellent attention to detail as far as care is concerned and a learning rich environment for the little ones. The rooms are very clean, and it is a great experience to visit! I definitely recommend this setting for your childcare needs.

Poor experience with MDCC childcare. They do not clean kids properly after feeding them, they do not clean them properly after changing them as my kid started having infection 2 days after joining this daycare, they first allowed us to bring our own food then changed policies but refused to reimburse registration fees while conditions have changed. One room is split in multiple small areas where kids are packed and spending their days in a transat. Would not recommend this daycare.

Our daughter has been attending MDCC for one year, and it has been great! I think as new parents we all have a bit of anxiety when needing to find childcare, but the MDCC team/staff has made us feel very comfortable from the beginning. I love that we are updated throughout the day on what she's doing or not doing) Ms. Soli is great because she keeps us updated and responds very quickly. I love that Ms. Flavia is always so helpful and open to our feedback. The safety and extra precautions taken during COVID has put us very at ease; although I do miss entering and interacting with her teachers more, the safety of all the littles is the main priority and I am so glad that I consistently see compliance.

Our son has been attending MDCC since he is 5 months old. He was with Ms. Soli and Ms. Jasmin, along with Ms. Ann and Ms. Amy, in the infant and cruisers class till he was 2 years old and all of them took such good care of him. They were posting pictures and videos of him in the app and we were able to see how he is doing during the day, which was very comforting when he was that young. Moving into toddler class with Ms. Diana and Ms. Brittany, he started learning a lot of things. They were very helpful with his English development, as he is bilingual. Now, he is with Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Destiny and he is loving every day of school. Even though he is the youngest in class, both of his teachers are putting a lot of effort to make sure he feels included and not left behind and we really appreciate this. Overall, we highly recommend MDCC, especially after the director, Ms. Flavia's input on the curriculum, they are giving great care and preschool education for the kids. (As a side note, they are handling the COVID-19 pandemic very successfully, so bonus points to that!)

Are family loves MDCC! Amy does a great job with our kid. They have always been very responsive to anything we've asked them. They've done a wonderful job during COVID at ensuring the health and safety of our kid and communicating they're procedures. We've felt safe leaving our kid with them during these interesting times.

My twin girls have been coming here since they were born! This place is a godsend for my wife and I. We really appreciate there care and attentiveness to each individual child. They not only care for each child but really do help them grow and develop. My Girls are moving up classes now so their old teacher Liz did her job right! We are really going to miss her but all the teachers are great.

My son has been going here for over a year now and has always ran happily inside (since he could walk, of course). His current teacher, Ms. Soli, is always excited and happy to see him, even on the weekends when we happen to walk-by during a staff meeting. Additionally, Ms. Flavia, the director, is quick to answer any of my questions, which I appreciate. You can tell how all the teachers enjoy their jobs and care for the students.

My son’s previous daycare closed during the pandemic, and luckily, we found and joined MDCC in July. My son comes here everyday with great joy, and he loves Ms. Stephanie since day one. He also loves Ms. Destiny’s singing in the class, and keeps singing at home all the time. Highly recommended.

MDCC has been nothing short of wonderful caring for and teaching our 20 month old son since we started with them a couple months ago. He is very fond of Miss Amy & Miss Natasha who diligently keep us up to date throughout the day and provide adorable photos of him as well through the Brightwheel App. The center has done a great job adapting to the circumstances of the pandemic and we feel very safe continuing to send our son there. If you're looking for a quality child care center, especially if you are already in the Museum District, this is well worth your time to investigate.

Ms. Tracy has been a huge help to our family. She does a wonderful job helping with distance learning. My son loves his preschool class with Ms. Destiny and Ms. Stephanie. Everyone is all smiles all the time. We are huge fans of MDCC!

We love MDCC! My toddler loves Ms. Stephanie's pre-k classroom. She is so calm and patient and always has a new and exciting activity planned for the kids. My 1 year old is VERY attached to his teacher, Ms. Soli. She is so warm and kind and always teaching the little ones something new. It is obvious that all of the teachers genuinely love their jobs and love the children. The director, Ms. Flavia, is very personable and constantly looking for ways to improve the school and new ideas to bring into the classrooms. We love it and have no plans to leave until kindergarten!

My son and daughter started here about 4 weeks ago and have adjusted wonderfully. I was very worried as we just moved from Minnesota and went through a lot of changes over the past 6 weeks but they seem to be thriving at MDCC. The staff all seem to enjoy being at work and Ms. Flavia is lovely.

During the pandemic our previous daycare facility closed permanently. We were so lucky to discover the Museum District Child care Center. In the short time that we’ve been there we have been pleasantly surprised at how quickly both of our kids have transitioned and acclimated to the school. This speaks to the wonderful supportive environment and all the great teachers at the facility!
Miss Tracey is conducting distance-learning for my daughter since HISD is currently virtual. She is doing a great job and it is such a weight off of our shoulders to not worry about her social and emotional needs being met. I highly recommend the Museum District Child Care Center!

MDCCC has been great for our two little boys. Their old daycare closed down and we were scrambling to find a replacement in the middle of COVID. MDCCC took our family in with open arms and our boys have gravitated to their teachers, Ms Stephanie and Ms Diana. They have both been amazing additions to our boys development. We receive pictures and communication daily through the brightwheel app on our phones (which my wife and I love). We are also excited about the extracurricular activities, like Soccer Shots, they have scheduled for the fall. If you are looking for a trustworthy place to aid in the development of your children, MDCCC is a great option.
