Naranjo Museum-Natural History reviews
19 My Grandson loved the different stones and then he learned more stuff about the spaceship and the food they eat while out in space, Then he loved the old plates and silverware they used back in the BC days.
I will take him again next year during our vacation time.
My boys liked it. Wish there more and etc. To me.its okay and not so much as I thought. Rate 4.0.
I never expected it to be this good, for such a small museum it had so much to offer. I didn't even know that I would take SO many pictures. It's a good place to spend apart if you're day.
It was okay. Nice exhibits. Very nice lady working the counter. (She was the only employee we saw)
Perfect place, and not too overwhelming for little and big kids alike. We took a 3 and 5 year old and they couldn't stand still because there was too much for them to look at.
It was a nice little museum. Definitely a work in progress but what was there was amazing! The information was thorough and we actually got to hold a Dino vertebrae! Super cool! The gift shop wasn't overpriced and had great little souvenirs. Very kid friendly, wonderful staff.
Absolutely massive collection of everything from native American artifacts to rocks and dinosaur fossils. The staff was very accommodating and the exhibits were interesting.
Two grandsons and a bunch of Dinosaurs what a Great time. Great collections something for everyone to enjoy.
If know body knows about it I highly recommend you take your kids there to learn about. Prehistoric history I love learning about it
12 years, past. Finally visited. We had a great time. Loved the Native American tribes show. I'm also full blooded Native American. My daughter, grandbabies and I are. We Navajo/Hopi. The items there, I was home when they did those dolls and dances. They still do back at home. Thank you.
Absolutely loved walking around looking at dinos & other artifacts. We even got to talk to Dr. Naranjo! He said he has been at it for 45 years!?
Awesome locally owned museum! Great displays of history and dinosaurs all shared by a man who decided to display his collection for all to see! Great place to take kiddos!
What an amazing place! We were so impressed with the huge and informative displays. My kids were entertained for a couple hours here and left inspired to find their own fossils.
We're glad we made time to visit the museum as we passed thru. You could feel the joy that Dr. Naranjo has for collecting and displaying history
From what we could tell, no piece was deemed "not cool enough for display. " Even the tiniest ancient pine cone-like fossils were grouped and proudly displayed with an info card.
Dinosaurs and fossils seemed to be the museum's focus but there was also a room full of gems/minerals/coins/ornate small sculptures (including an item owned by the author of The Jungle Book), along with a space area and a corridor full of human history. Throughout all of it, you could tell more was in work and planned for the future.
Plenty of "did you know" style info cards scattered around to keep your interest. And most area were situated low enough that a 3 or 4 year old could view while standing on their own.
My only complaint is that not all items had a card describing their origin or background.
Overall a lovingly laid out museum and set of collections. Looking forward to see how it progresses next time we pass thru.
Cozy museum featuring the timeline of Earth, from the beginning of life through space travel. Fantastic dinosaur displays, interesting fossil finds, and a cool collection of modern artifacts from Egypt, Rome, the Americas, and historic space flights. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Had a wonderful experience. Very clean and had plenty of exhibits to look at. My children loved it.
Loved it and my kids had a blast, would highly recommend for anyone looking for something fun to do for a little day trip.
It was interesting, there was more stuff than I expected. But the lighting was very very dim in a lot of spots. It made it very hard to see certain things. But overall, we enjoyed it.
This is a small museum compared to some but don't let that stop you from giving it a chance! There are plenty of nice displays of real & replica dinosaur fossils, interesting taxidermy, jewels, gems & space artifacts.
Great for all ages, can go through it quickly or take your time reading everything & spend all day here.
Would even be an excellent place for a class field trip because of it's smaller size!
Sometimes the owner, Dr. Naranjo, is around & he is so nice, gave my boyfriend & I an in depth tour and we got to hear all about how he found the Hadrosaur, the Torosaurus, the Mother & baby pair Eininosaurs that are all real & on display. Veronica, the museum manager, is also super nice!
We will definitely be revisiting for future events & for new exhibits!
