National Videogame Museum reviews
14Nice place to spend at least 4 hrs with kids (older than 5 years). Lots of old super hit 80s and 90s games at display. There is an arcade area as well and we get sufficient tokens as part of the entry ticket. I upgraded to family annual membership as I'm sure to go at least once every few months!
So cool! Amazing job showcasing all of the systems and the history behind it, could spend a whole day there just reading the info and looking at the memorabilia. Getting to actually play the games were a plus and the arcades at the end was just the icing on the cake. Something the fanily could enjoy together. Definitely coming back!
Super fun and nostalgic. Reasonably-priced. If you are a teacher, bring your ID for a discount.
We had the best time!
I was concerned that my younger children would be bored or uninterested in the historical side, but they enjoyed it all!
Especially enjoyed the giant Pong game and the amazing Donkey Kong collection. And the arcade? ! AMAZING.
Well worth the drive from Tulsa. Can't wait for a return trip!
This place is phenomenal! It brought back major childhood memories for me. I grew up with Sega Genesis and Playstation and now own the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Lots of playable games and an arcade for a true vintage arcade game play. I will definitely have to visit here again in the near future.
We loved this place. They had all of the old games we remember and love and tons of interesting info. Even the kids had a blast (ages 10-13). Will definitely return.
This place was very cool! The entire history of games all in one place is a rare find. It was fun to be interactive with so many of the exhibits and even get to play some arcades at the end (shout out to Pacman!). What a fun surprise on a random trip to Frisco. If you're in the area, take the time!
Super fun, there is a giant pong game, every video game console that ever existed, the tour guide is very knowledgeable and at the end there is an amazing 80s style arcade, totally recommended
Man this brought back some great memories. It was fun sharing experiences from my youth with my kids. It was fun showing my kids how videos games had progressed and the different consoles came and went. We spent about an hour looking and experiencing the different exhibits.
Highly recommend if you have time, lots of games from the past and a few you can play, they give you a few coins to try out the arcade. And there is a giant pong game if you want to try and play with someone else. There is also a gift shop with a few things in there you can grab as gifts or whatever. I ended up getting a book, a goomba patch and a few other things. It's a little disappointing the games don't have the best tv setup so the won't look as nice as you'd hope but I still enjoyed Banjo Kazoo on N64 and played a little bit of Okama on Playstation 2. Last there is a whole little section on portable games like Game Boy and even had a game boy micro (can't remember if I saw a pocket but I would not be surprised) there was also a VR section if you wanted to try that and a computer that had different "timezones" on it so you see different interfaces from different eras and send pictures through the camera in different formats. I wish I could have emailed myself though pictures because it was fun to play with that and send them to someone else on another computer in the room. There were a lot of large statues of different characters and the arcade featured games from eariler eras then I actually knew much about. It's hard to imagine some of things considered so old now man does time fly.
This place surpassed our expectations and when we are back around we will definitely spend more time and money in the store:)
Spacious venue! We really enjoyed looking at all of the unique items from old to new and reminiscing about our childhood. I would love to go again and take my children it was definitely a kid friendly environment.
Very cool experience! Love all the retro games. Became a member so we can come back again. Gift shop needs more options!
The Natuonal Videogame Museum is cool! Being the dad of a hard-core gamer it was a must to checkout when we were in Texas. One thing is for sure it makes you feel your age with a lot of the classic games, consoles and computers. Definitely a fun time!
