Tamala at the front was incredibly friendly and helpful. She quickly got us what we needed - great experience overall.

We love NFCU. We've been members for a few years, and they've handled everything very well. They've handled all issues well, and have ATMs available in various locations that are fairly convenient. Service is lacking, but I think this could be solved with the point below.
The point of feedback that I've reiterated over and over is. MORE BRANCHES in this area. Yes, it's usually packed. Mainly because it's the only one between what. Waco and San Antonio? So let's open up some more, ok?

I bought a vehicle that is a lemon under Texas law on July 5,2023 I contacted Navy federal to dispute the transaction on July 15th to get my down payment back due to the vehicle not being fixed after 4 attempts. It is now September 9th 2023 after submitting proof and going back and forth with navy federal representatives I still haven’t received my down payment the entire process was a waste of time and I will be closing my account with them. This bank is terrible and I do not recommend.

I like Navy Federal but this branch sucks they’re always packed for 1 and 2 they’re literally not helpful at all it doesn’t matter what you come in for they will tell you to do it online basically

Don't come here to get anything done. Everyone is just chilling and only two people are actually working with 10 people in the waiting room. There's literally no sense of urgency and they don't care.

They severely need to work on customer service! I assume the staff is doing their job but I waited in line for the atm all for it to say it’s stopped working once it’s my turn. Go inside join the regular line. Waited at least 30 minutes to deposit 300 freakin dollars bruh. I’ve been working all day and come to deposit money so I can order food and finally relax for them to basically ignore us in line and take us as slowly as possible. Then when it’s my turn on the atm machine is working now. So they’re back there watching this long line form. Why not shout out hey atm is working again so if you’re in line for that go ahead. But no. Silence. This is ridiculous. I wanted to get out of line 10 minutes in but figured better not loose my spot. They shouldn’t be too much longer. That’s crazy. I wanted to take a picture of the line and the people sitting back there typing away. I assume the drive through is moving. This is crazy.

BLUF: Their rates are competitive, but there's a decent chance that they lose you the house because of their inability to handle loans properly. Save the headache, work with someone who can get the job done properly, and refinance when rates are better.

Please stop going to NFCU for VA loans. I'm currently working my 3rd loan with them over the past 2 months. The first one was delayed, but we got it through. My TC and I had to hold their hands throughout the process to get it done close to on time.

I've had the listing side on another two. One of them fell out after the appraisal, losing their client over $1000 in inspection, appraisal, and option fees simply because they didn't understand how to calculate independent contractor income. They erroneously issued a pre-approval, thinking they could use per diem and other temporary income.

The other is now being delayed about a week where my sellers are under contract to purchase. It's contingent upon the sale of their property (which NFCU has the loan for). NFCU has pretty much refused to talk to anyone in their transaction. Even the buyer's agent has no clue what the delays are for. The sellers on the other side are getting very concerned and about to cancel the transaction, leaving my sellers out of that house. That will cause a chain reaction and cause my sellers to terminate on these buyers. That will again cost the buyers over $1000 in fees and probably put them in a very difficult situation in regards to housing.

It's really not worth the risk. Yes, they're offering very competitive rates right now, but it's genuinely worth it to take a higher rate and refinance when things turn around. I'd do that over taking a chance of spending a bunch of money for NFCU to fumble things because of pure ineptitude.

1st time to this branch. Opened checking accts for college kids. Had a lady call us over to help us and had to find a chair since there were 3 of us and she never bothered to look up.no greeting etc. When I stopped her to ask her about which checking accts would be best she said not to interrupt her because i made her nervous. I asked her if we could get someone else and she just got up and walked off. Ended up with a gregarious guy named Justin. He asked what we were trying to accomplish, gave us info so we could select the best options and even gave us info that we didn't even know we needed. Night and Day difference in service.

This is by far the worst location, looks like the DMV or Social Security office by how long the lines are, the front counter employee is just a big bag of unhelpful. They told me they wouldn’t accept a digital copy of my marriage license for my name change but I called customer service from the parking lot and they will accept it with their online form. Why even have a physical location.

Best credit union ever. Super friendly tellers and staff. I've never felt so welcome at a banking facility.

Best credit union ever. Don't use banks people. If you can always use a credit union and if navy Federal is available you won't be going wrong

This is probably the worst Navy Federal I’ve been too, but unfortunately it’s the only one in Austin. There is always a long line, so plan on taking 30 mins at the very least to make a simple deposit.

Customer service was awful. Obviously they dont care about having more employees during lunch time. Waited with 9 people in front if me and decided to leave only one employee to handle the line that was outside the door. Left and hit another one.
