New Braunfels Training Center / Double Five New Braunfels reviews
12Great gym amenities. Borrow GI if needed. Eduardo is at the top of his game and a great coach. Mark is a good owner and works with the members closely. The students are what really matter here, the culture is top notch with little to no drama. Diversity in rolls allows you to target what you need to improve on.
My Dad and I stopped in for open mat, and everyone treated us as part of their team. No ego’s, just that Jiu Jitsu community brotherhood vibe which should be present in all schools,
academy’s, and training centers. Extremely clean mat area as well as entire facility. We were impressed and looking forward to training here in the future. Great work NBTC and thank you for letting us train!
Hands down, the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training in New Braunfels. Period. I had the privilege to train with NBTC while I was working in the NB area for about 6 months. Mark employs a full time coach with world class accolades backed by a friendly environment where everyone feels like they are part of a community and the community strives to get better.
I have trained at dozens of Jiu Jitsu gyms in my 8 years of experience. Without a doubt this was my favorite gym that I got to call home on the road and can’t wait to come back, visit, and roll.
If you’re looking for self defense, exercise, competition community, sense of belonging… stop looking.
When I got to the NB area… I already did the looking for you by trying other gyms… just go here you won’t regret it
Ryan Grandon is one of the best people I know. His skills in jui-jistu are second to none, and he will take the time to properly show you how to do the moves. Without Ryan, I would not be as skilled as I am in jui-jistu and he made me a better person.
Great BJJ gym from my experience. My girlfriend and I started a few weeks ago and are loving it. Eduardo and G are wonderful instructors. Mark the owner is very friendly and approachable. No egos here, everyone is down to earth. Couldn’t ask for a better environment to train in.
I have 6 sons all involved in some sort of martial arts. One son lives here and has joined NBTC and loves it. When my other sons come to visit they train as well and love it. Their comrodery and their willingness to assist each other is phenomenal!
The gym is amazing, the energy of the guys of the gym is very good and I really fell at home when I am there! Billie and Mark, the owners are amazing persons and very professional!
Owners HAVE in fact changed, which is why there is a new instructor. Unfortunately, it was the one who lacks professionalism that stayed. Our problem with this gym was one of the owners, the wife, who enjoys inappropriately gossiping around clients. She is very disrespectful and it doesn’t end with her. One of her teenage children helps out on the mat, but has had tantrums multiple times. He has thrown things in the front waiting area, slammed the door so hard things fell from the shelves along the wall, and also spoke disrespectfully gossiping about others in front of clients along with the mother. The rude comments involved clients and the instructor. Either they didn’t realize we were sitting right there numerous times, while saying rude things about others, or they just
didn’t care. Will not be renewing membership.
Thank you Billie for replying in an aggressive, attacking tone. This only serves as proof of your unprofessionalism. This is not a fake account. I may not have been a student, but my husband was. I have also added a photo, with my husband and the fantastic previous instructor/owner. I’m sorry you don’t remember my name, but I sure remember you sitting next to me bashing others.
This is our first experience with any type of martial arts and we have been very impressed. Our 4 children plus my husband are in classes and absolutely love it. The owner’s son teaches the 3-6 year old class and does so well with our 5 year old who has ADHD/sensory disorder. The instructors for the older kids and adult classes are amazing. We even loved the previous instructor. This was recommended to us to help with ADHD and we are so glad we chose NBTC. They are not only welcoming but make you feel like family. Nothing but love and support in the gym and at tournaments. 100% recommended.
Instruction and vibe was amazing. After changing owners, the place became toxic.
Edit: the owner has changed in the past few years. Shame on you for lying.
From day 1 walking into NBTC BJJ the owners were very welcoming. They showed me around the gym and was very clean and neat. The students that attend here are all awesome people and will always make you feel welcomed and help you out if you need help. During the pandemic, once the gym re-opened they also went above and beyond to make sure all CDC guidelines were met and everyone was in good health condition before entering gym. A great place to train and practice the art of jiu jitsu
