My name is Duane. I hit 1 year clean a month ago! To be honest I wasn't counting until now. It feels amazing to be living life without being a slave to a substance.
Looking back it all started at New Choices. I've been to a number of treatment centers and I have little to no faith in them but, I had hit my moment of desperation.
From start to finish the entire experience was different than any other place I've been. Medical staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The techs genuinely CARED where I was at mentally and emotionally through my stay.
MIND, BODY, SPIRIT. Thinking differently, exercise to recover from the damage I put myself through and reconnecting to SPIRIT. I've recommended New Choices to multiple people since left because it worked for me. I have a year CLEAN and I give credit where credit is due. NEW CHOICES helped me with a solid start to this New Chapter.

Entering New Choices was a challenge leaving the facility 4 days in but making the decision to go back was the best decision I've made for my life. I learned so much in treatment the tools to over come my addiction and believing iny higher power knowing he will guide me in my recovery. I'm feeling the best ever mentally physically and emotionally and the best miracle is having my babies back in my life and becoming a father again. The entire staff are family to me now I would never forget that. If you need help make that call to new choices and get your life back.

New Choices was my last resort to getting sober. The separation from substances, the tools I learned and the support I now have worked keeping me sober. I have completed both RT and IOP.
To me they didn't focus so much on the 12 steps to strictly but everything as a whole. They focus alot on the physical activity aspect, Jeff, one of the counselor, also works as the personal trainer for the group, as well as the DJ for our sessions. There is alot of training for us in order to build that repetition in order to learn how to take care of our bodies on our own time.
The yoga, taught by Jackie is amazing, I never had done yoga before but now plan to have it apart of my life.
Meditation was taught by Danny in RT but we also learned it in AIR (Active in Recovery) and yoga. It taught me just 10 mins every day helps to clear the mind.
They do in house and off site meetings of AA, CA, NA, Refuge, and more.
The food was out of this world. They have a chef dedicated to feeding everyone. They have a legit salad bar open for lunch and dinner too.

The counselors are good, I worked with Lauren in RT and JeRome in IOP. I was able to be diagnosed with PTSD, and continue to work on my depression and bipolar issues. There was alot of encouragement and guidance on making changes to my life.

Now about the facility itself is welcoming, it is an intimate setting. It was a apartment complex turned in to a treatment center. Each apartment has 1 bedroom with 2 beds, a kitchen with granite coutertops, and sitting area.

The staff really cares and respects us. The admissions team, the recovery coordinators, the clinical team, nursing, down to the maintenance crew. They are all supportive.

I didn't go into treatment with making friends in mind, but I now have a strong group of friends. We have a strong alumni group we have alot of activities to stay active in the community.

My experience at New choices started off kinda wishy washy but after staying there 60 days I can honestly say I got the help and support I needed from the program and staff.my favorite nurses Makayla Myra Adrienne and Gina went above and beyond 2 help in any way they could to make sure I was comfortable and all my medications and medical needs. The medical staff was my go to when I needed to talk or brighten my day. Also special thanks to Laura my counselor Taylor and my case manager Britney for not giving up on me at my worse and now seeing me still doing the work with all my best efforts.great experience with staff, peeps, and a host of Rc's as well. I appreciate you new choices for everything

I've only been to two treatment centers, this by far was the best treatment center. There was so many people willing to help me. I really felt at home and was able to thoroughly work through some of my most deepest problems with a staff who are willing to help and listen. The medical staff were beyond helpful and getting me the medications that best suited me. The food that was fed to me was like a five-star restaurant. I stayed three full months and now I'm over 6 months sober and I'm still friends with a lot of my peers. I also chose to extend and do IOP for 8 weeks which was thoroughly helpful and continuing my plan to stay sober. Thank you to all that were there and help me without you I wouldn't be where I am right now I love and miss you all.

Had an amazing experience here. All the staff is extremely helpful and kind. My counselor Lauren really worked with me and heard me and my case manager Brittney spent so much time helping me with my outside issues. I am extremely grateful for the time I had here and the tools I learned to help keep me solid. I can not sing their praises enough

Was there from Feb 4th-May 8th. So grateful my rehab and recovery was at that place. Laura and her staff truly have a passion for people suffering with the disease of addiction and provide a safe environment. My insurance stopped paying but New Choices provided a scholarship for me to stay and complete 90 days. Thank you New Choices for saving my life.

New Choices involves the whole family in recovery.
We not only attended a week-end family education program, but also continue every Saturday via zoom with a family support group. It is the first time the family has been included, and it has made a big difference!
Thank you New Choices!

I just got out of NCTC and I am starting IOP. I had an overall great experience. Case management was extremely helpful with my outside work/legal/living situation. My counselor let me have a lot of input in my treatment plan. The groups were very discussion based -not worksheets or PowerPoints. We also were given many different approaches to recovery (including but not limited to 12 steps). Food was good staff was awesome. Of course there are rules but that goes without saying. Definitely recommend

DONT GO HERE! Lora, Darren, Barbara.all upper management are liers.they do not care about you they only care about covering for their staff. The disrespect at this place is unbelievable at 800 a day you would think you would be treated well.that's roughly 30000 for a 30 day stay plus detox.but do not expect respect on any level, the majority of the staff is addicts with very little clean time and their attitude shows it. If you stand up for yourself or use your words to express your feelings you will be categorized as a trouble maker. The medical staff is a joke. I personally was overdosed on medication causing me to almost die twice due to the uneducated/ incompetent decisions made by the nursing staff. Although there are a few great people who work here the overall is not worth it! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE! And to what management says.this is very accurate. In fact I just received a phone call from thier medication provider stating I owe them for roughly twice the amount of medication I received. I kept a very accurate daily record of all medications and amount taken while there and what I received when I left and it doesn't match at all! As for speaking to the CEO Lora Tomlinson she is the most corrupt person I ever met at this level. She will lie and deceive to save face and protect the staffs poor behavior. I beg for all of you let's get a class action lawsuit started against this facility

While we are only 2 weeks in, so far the staff has shown that they are both very capable and caring, and my son sounds like for the first time in many years like he feels he is in safe hands with professional who truly care about him beating this horrific disease.

This place saved my life. Ryan was there for me and incredibly helpful and supportive. Danny’s mindfulness classes were not only informative and relaxing but the addiction neuroscience classes made me feel better about myself. Darren, Robert, Allen, Jerome, and Carrie are also people who can be tough but very fair and they really do care! Jake, Avery, Samara, Mel, Kathy, Britney, and of course TERRY were so kind to me throughout my stay. The nursing staff took the time to listen and were very helpful. I can’t say enough good things about N. C. This place works if you are willing and open to try. Let them help you. They took a typical jaaaagoff and gave me the tools to turn my life around and i am extremely grateful to have gone here. If you have a problem with drugs and or alcohol. This place can help. Much love to everyone at new choices and have you tried the salad bar? !? !? ! Much love - tommy anderson xo weirdest resort ever!
