O. P. Schnabel Park reviews
16In terms of a OneWheel destination - it is one. One that I enjoy targeting. One that holds a place near to my heart. My lungs. Man… Dune was good, right?
I love this park. It’s a hidden gem, well shaded and has amazing trails. It’s very serene for a nice stroll. Very spacious to go bike riding. There’s a nice park for the kids to play. A very large pavilion to have parties. And of course a an outdoor basketball court.
I was there as a volunteer for the Helotes human society. It's a great place for friends, but must of all its a great place to take the hole family. There's playground for the kids, hiking trails. Deer to watch beside the scenery.
I went out Hiking on the Olmos park on Bandara Road and did some hiking and picking up a lot of trash in the park and on a short section on the Leon Creek Greenway.
WE CAN DO BETTER SAN ANTONIO!
Please consider bringing a small grocery bag with you and take the 5 Piece Challenge and try to pick up 5 Pieces of trash per day while hiking.
Then simply pass the challenge on to others. I can do a lot while I'm out, but I just can't do it on my own. I need all of us to care enough about the trails that we love to help keep them a sanctuary from the crazy of the outside world!
Shout out if you will accept the challenge and post your challenge pictures to encourage others in your Facebook groups.
If we want change, we have to be the change that matters.
Thanks for caring and helping!

Great Halloween event! Kids had a blast and the event was larger than expected. Getting out in traffic was pretty bad, though.
Always nice here, great trails for the city and open until 11pm is a plus. Definitely try some of the off pavement trails, to and from the Greenway. A lot of deer and other animals to view, plenty of picnic tables and parking. I've been a few times and can explore something different every time. Good playground for the kids, trails to hike, trails to bike and picnic areas, bathrooms available.
Love the trails here, great for walking, running or biking! Great shade, beautiful does and bucks throughout the park. A huge pavilion sits in the center of the park, O. P.is also the home the Braundera YMCA.
Lots of great trails and plenty of deer. BEST PARK IN THE CITY! My opinion of course but it’s worth visiting and making your own decision
Man, I have no idea how I have not been on these trails, they are Great, with Hills, scenery, so peaceful, and well kept. I love this place, and first time out with my girlfriend, we did a 3 mile hike, and we loved it. We will be back, maybe with bikes next time. My 2 cents.
One of the best park's in town, every sport, every outdoor hobby can be done here.plenty of trails that connect to the Leon Greenway creek trail system.
It is a great park although every now and then you'll have inconsiderate people. There was a young adult playing Frisbee with older kids inside the toddler playground area. And they had the gall to feel uncomfortable enough to ask that smaller kid be removed from the area. Same goes for those dog lovers who believe their dogs can go anywhere.
Lots of deer walk around the park, they are not afraid of people. The playground gets very busy on the weekends, but the park is beautiful overall
Homeless folks sleeping in and around the trails and picnic tables in the park. They shine flashlights at you as you walk by early in the morning.
First time visiting the Park. My wife and I (63+) are delighted with the whole layout of the trails, very easy to walk around.
Is always clean and full of people enjoying the wonderful weather. People walking, running, biking, and walking dogs. The playground is nice and kids love it.
