Oak Forest Academy, Houston TX

Oak Forest Academy is both a great place to work and a great place to send your children. The teachers and administration at this school are genuine and caring people who want to ensure meaningful education is at the forefront of a child’s experience. The facility is amazing and full of both indoor and outdoor spaces for children to explore. The food served is incredible and the extracurriculars offered (Spanish, music, art.) are too — I could not recommend this school more - all in all, a wonderful place filled with great educators.

I toured this place in October and they told me “as of now, we’ll have space in May. ” Great! I was put on the waitlist.
I called in January to confirm my spot for May and the woman basically laughed at me.
To date (July 1st), I still haven’t received ANY updates or contact.
I get it. They don’t need the business.but then stop touring, and DEFINITELY don’t lead parents on!

I can’t say enough incredible things about OFA. It’s not just the school, but the community that Mia and Joe have built that make us love it even more.

Communication, care and excellence are among a few of the qualities that the admin, staff and teachers all embody. When our son had difficulty transitioning, the admin staff helped us work with teachers to come up with a care plan best suited for him.

When OFA was looking into extra security, they sent out a poll to ask parents their opinion and gather feedback. Mia and Joe really take parents thoughts and considerations into making decisions that affect the whole school. That is community!

In a time of incredible staffing shortages, OFA is dedicated to finding the best teachers and not just a warm body. They constantly inform parents of any changes (foreseen or unforeseen).

From the amazing teachers (and seriously, they are ALL amazing), to the great front desk staff, to the founders, everyone is incredible.

I have so much more peace of mind that my kids are in a caring, safe, nurturing environment.

As a former teacher and parent at OFA, I can say I loved working here and enjoyed watching my child grow here as well. The administrative staff really care about their teachers, and I grew to love each and every one of them! They were always quick to listen to my point of view, both as a teacher and a parent. They know every student by name and greet them every day! I have worked for three schools and I have loved this one the most. The staff all work together on creative classroom ideas, the amount of training they receive is above and beyond, and the accreditations the school has been awarded speak for themselves. Working here as a teacher gave me the tools to be a better parent and I couldn't be more thankful I applied back then. The administrative staff even supported me through my career shift and wished me well; we still talk to this day! If you love teaching and want all the resources you've been missing at your current school - this is the place to apply!

Best Place I've ever worked! The owner's core values are amazingly strong and that trickles down to the directors and my fellow staff members! We have the best support from our admin team, therefore we are able to be the best for our children and families! I am so proud to be a part of this community! And on a personal note. The in-depth trainings I’ve received while working here have made me understand so much more about the human mind (adult and child) and the best environment to give our children to help them have the most success.

I literally cannot imagine a better day care. They set my expectations very high when we toured OFA, and then not only delivered but surpassed expectations time and time again during the two years that our son attended. They have the most professional, caring, and capable staff, management is completely transparent, communication with teachers and management was excellent, the food seemed to be different every single day and always healthy and of the highest quality, facilities are beautiful including a huge outside play area, live camera feed of the classroom. I could go on. Many of our best Houston memories are related to OFA and the community formed around it.

Our little one was having a hard time adapting to another daycare in the region, we were reluctant if changing daycares was the right move, but now after few months, we couldn`t be happier! I noticed the difference since Day 1, the onboarding process, how the teachers were trained, giving him one-on-one time, helping him to engage, for him to feel safe. The teachers and the WHOLE STAFF are very kind and lovely, kids get the attention they need to thrive, the student/ teacher rate is above the average I observed in most of daycares, communication with the school is great and everything runs very well. Also, having the camera access for me is key, I`m so glad they offer this service. If you have the opportunity to join enroll your little one, don`t think twice!
