I was very suspecting of this course because of the reviews, I go about every 3rd day to the range and putting greens and they are great so I decided to try a quick 9 yesterday. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape, one hole did have some dead grass in strips like they didn’t mix chemicals right but I saw no problems in that. The only thing I could complain about is the greens are really slow and fluffy, not short and tight grass but otherwise they were in good shape. I only played the front 9 and there was 1 hole they changed from a par 4 to a par 3 with a temporary green in the fairway with an extra large hole, I saw on the sheet in the clubhouse that there were 3 more holes on the back 9 that had temporary greens. I would also like to say everyone that I’ve encountered has been really nice and helpful, will be back for more!

This used to be one the best kept courses in east Texas, I understand the green issues, lots of east Texas courses have had green issues but there’s plenty other things that could be rectified easily. Nothing has been updated in over 20yrs. Looks like a blind man is cutting the grass. Also don’t think they own a weed eater. Limbs laying around everywhere, cart paths are horrible, tee boxes not taken care of. Very few water jugs on course. The Marshall is rude. Rotten wood on club house, hasn’t been painted or maintained, the grill/restaurant is a joke. I could go on and on. Nothing like it used to be when old man hurst was alive. A shell of the course it used to be

Just made a call for my husband to play golf with our two sons an eight year old and a 13-year-old and tried to ask if they can ride in the same cart as my husband. As he has stage four cancer and they would not be over the weight capacity of the cart at all (under what we know All Municipal courses in the state of Texas, are supposed to follow ADA state law, and make exceptions for people with disabilities so we will be turning them in) They wouldn’t even take into consideration any of this right off the bat very confrontational. I do not suggest this course for anyone with any handicap or disabilities or just general Integrity.

UIL Regional golf tournament held here the past 2 days. Wow! Just WOW! What a shame that kids that advance to Regionals have to play something that is this bad. The greens. I really can't describe how bad they were.like seriously they were THAT bad.the staff.not accommodating and did not seem to really care much at all.the golf carts for parents/family that want to support their kids.oh wait.there are no golf carts to rent out. I felt bad for the kids.they have advanced and that should be an accomplishment with a nice course and friendly staff at a location that can accommodate the event (including the support group around them). This was the worst form of showing these kids that advancing matters by allowing them to play this type of course. My pasture is better manicured than this place. I don't understand. I never leave reviews, but I felt this was warranted. Our students deserve better. If students advance in a school team event, the venue should look like an advancement.not a shabby, run down, non maintained course with rude staff and no accommodations. BUT.if you do want to rent a cart.you can call the place right down the road and pay $200 to rent one for 1 day.because they are actually throwing in that 2nd day for free.even if you aren't gonna need it that 2nd day.not joking. (they worked out a great deal there). Course restrooms.disgusting.wreaked of urine, trash cans overflowing.just gross. They had no clue what they were doing and it was very apparent that they were overwhelmed by the magnitude of a UIL regional golf tournament. I pray that this is not repeated in years to come.

We arrived to watch my daughter in a tournament, no spectator carts available. Which is fine, but needed a cart for my 73 old handicapped mother. Which should be available. They had about 20-30 cart but said they were reserved. I even offered to pay for a round of golf plus cart to get one of those. Nothing not even a wheel chair. They really just didn’t want to try

DO NOT GOLF HERE! I don't know how they can stomach charging people almost $60 to play this dump of a course. Hands down, the worst greens I've ever seen. They were absolutely unplayable. The course holds water everywhere, the cart paths are all busted up and janky. I felt like I was riding a bull while riding the cart around. The greens were definitely the worst part though. You're better off putting in your back yard. We stopped going to this course years ago because of the condition of it. Decided to give it another shot and it was worse than before. Should have went back to the clubhouse to get my money back. Only gave two stars because the lady in the snack bar made the best breakfast I've had in a while. I've played on better courses in West Texas that cost $30 to play.

So sad where this course is now. Greens and tee boxes look terrible, practice facilities are worse. Price continues to stay the same or go up. The only decent thing worth the money you pay is the driving range. If you can wiggle the machine in the correct way the fill your basket, hitting balls out there isn’t terrible. I have played there for 20 years and it simply pains me to pay the price they’re asking to play out there right now. They just have the public monopoly in the area so they can get what they ask. Sad.

I moved here a little over 3 yrs ago. Started playing Oak Hurst and really enjoyed it. The course has gone down hill really bad. The greens are almost non existent with amount of weeds in them. The tee boxes are about gone also. Hard to believe people are still playing there with the fees they charge.

Maybe has one green that is decent. The rest of the greens and most tee boxes are pathetic for the price. Cart paths look like something from a warzone and many fairways have wet areas all the time. This course needs major work. Too bad there are no other public golf course options in Tyler area.

The course is in horrible condition, the greens are absolutely horrible. The have no idea how to cut cups. And yet they are still charging full price for this. Save your money and don’t bother playing this goat track.

I took an old pair of bubble shaft
Taylor Mades to get regripped.
Well, it took a day of searching and lots of work to find the fit. These gentlemen did just that. Great group of individuals.
