Juan our maintenance tech always does excellent work and is available as soon as he gets done helping other tenants. He has great customer service skills and always greets us with a smile. He's even come to the rescue after hours when we had emergencies. He and Misty our apartment manager go out of their way to be here for all of the tenants at Oak Terrace Apartments. We feel very welcome here. Thank you and God bless!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable and easy lifestyle at Oak Terrace. The staff and maintenance are always very kind, helpful and professional. I love the mature trees and that I have lots of storage and covered parking. I will stay here until I buy a house. No wonder this place has no availability. Thank you for making my family feel at home.

Apartments are older apartments that are outdated. There has been no significant remodeling as someone mentioned. Apts are conveniently located which is why i stay here. However, when I was about to renew my lease in February 2021. I found 20 or more roaches under my fridge. Since then Ive had my apt 'bombed' and had two or three follow ups and I still find them. Now i find dead ones in my fridge, on stove top and i even had one walking on tabletop while grandson was having his dinner. Ive cleaned fridge with soap and bleach and I still find them afterwards. In addition, maintenance has always been an issue. No hot water from sink for four weeks. Shower water took 8 mins to get hot. My towel rack base was repaired with two large screws sticking out an inch. Unclogged my bath tub only to find a boot shoe imprint in tub that was difficult to clean because of oils on shoes.

I have lived here for six years and this is my favorite place in San Antonio. It is an older community, but it's clean and wonderfully located. The staff has always taken care of me and my home. Reasonably priced
and great location!

Laundry facilities are usually down which makes washing your clothes kind of hard when everyone else is also waiting to wash their clothes. Staff has been super nice as always though! They are working on it but it just seems to be “band-aids”. Management is trying though and I appreciate their responsiveness to the issue!

Update: Management got more than half of them back up and running pretty fast considering the recent events! Thank you so much!

Management doesn't do anything but call you to pay your rent and lock the laundry rooms on us (and they do not give any warning as to when this will happen either!). If you're reading this Oak Terrace management, STOP LOCKING THE LAUNDRY ROOMS ON US FOR NO GOOD REASON.

Edit: Dear Oak Terrace,
This is not true that the other laundry rooms are available. I tried to do my laundry this past weekend and THREE laundry rooms I checked were locked. The least we can get is a warning regarding when ALL the laundry rooms will be locked so that we can do our laundry in advance.

Just.an absolute nightmare. We were robbed twice at this property (without gates or cameras, and with no plans to add any additional security measures.)

The first time, our storage unit was broken into and emptied. Because our parking spots, storage units, and apartments are all labeled the same, it was extremely easy for the thieves to find our home, and break into our apartment through our bathroom window about 3 weeks later. They cleaned us out of all valuables, including a handgun for protection. It was extremely clear that we were being targeted and that we were deeply unsafe. So, we decided the only thing to do was to move out. Who knows when they would be back, and we knew they were now armed.

We discussed move-out with the front office. They said they understood us leaving. We met with a real estate agent who told us that lease termination fees should not follow us since we are leaving due to issues of personal safety. The office told us there would be fees, but once we said we would be contesting them, there was no response. Not until about 3 weeks later, when we were slapped with over $3,400 worth of move-out fees, some of which are absolutely false. ($80 for paint on the countertops? You mean the paint that was splattered all over the floor and counters when we moved in, and documented on our move-in checklist?)

They also didn't tell any other residents about the robberies on property. We told as many people as we saw on site, and many of them told us of times they felt unsafe, when people tried to break into their places, and of the shady things taking place outside their doors. Hopefully they don't have this happen to them as well.

When we said we were robbed, we got an "I'm sorry". No statement of how they would help, what they would change, or what would be done. Only that fees might be waved if we moved into another one of their un-gated properties with reviews like mine, of break-ins, vandalized cars, and roach infestation after infestation. We now have 14 days to figure out what to do with these insane fees, just as we're trying to financially recover from a sudden move and rebuilding our lives somewhere safer.

Other regular issues: A neighbor's A/C that caused our bathroom floor to be wet and cold constantly (it was eventually fixed before it became an issue again), regular roach, beetle, and ant infestations, and paint splatters all over the floors and counters. I would've let these things slide if not for the callous treatment now. Yes, it's cheap. But you truly do get what you pay for.

Don’t move here.it’s a hot spot for theft and the complex says they are looking to make changes but I doubt it. Trust the reviews. Poor communication & and my car and storage have been vandalized. I have almost lost everything all they do is smile and had you a police report and collect their money that you owe. To the office don’t even reply to this review I’m sick of the excuses.

I would highly recommend Oak Terrace. The apartments are being remodeled and they look great. My neighbors are great. The office staff is super-friendly and they have been very helpful.
